And grateful and gratitude that you have allowed us to be a part of your transfer preparation journey. We're in the final inning in this transformation timeline, so to speak. You know, if you're a baseball fan, so today's webinar is an overview of different things. You need to be mindful of as you prepare to become an Aggie. And don't forget we have that whole the week long as we experienced live events, so make sure to tune into that for the more needy, gritty details about the campus that will be next week.
And again, to regulations to all of you, but I'm I want to turn it over to Jackie.
Thank you Pam. Hello everybody, congratulations, my name is Jackie. I'm a top coordinator, so up next I'm going to provide you a little bit more content on how to finalize your admission process. We're going to talk about how to transition to you, see and how that will look like. And then we'll talk a little bit about some of the popular questions in regard to financial aid, and then we will end with some important deadline.
Anne Anne also to share with you a little bit about the tops resources that we have been. Our top team has been working really hard throughout this year to create these resources in a in a more of a sustainable an information informational manner so that you can continue to use these resources even after you transfer to a four year institution.
Alright, so here's a quick checklist for you in order in the order of the deadlines, so don't worry about the the links. The resources link at the bottom. We will provide all of those link at the end of the presentation. I will put it in the chat for you so that you can save that for your for your resource, for your reference, but let's go ahead and go with the very first one. Now let's go ahead and talk about that first step.
So, to finalize your admission process, you have to read your condition of admission through your my admission portal. At this point you probably already been to that portal many times, but if you haven't, please make sure you create the account and log in as soon as possible and review your conditions of admission.
Remember, your admission is conditional, and until you complete all the parts of your deal.
OK, spend some time to review and analyze your financial aid and scholarship award by clicking on the My My Award section and then you should also review your course credit summary. And don't forget to submit your statement of intent to registered by June 1st.

The conditions state that we have to have a 2.80 gpa to be admitted. Is that GPA only for spring semester ? Or is it our overall gpa for our whole community college career
And if you already submit your sirf go Aggies alright, so once you sirf processes like housing and orientation will start. So just make sure you register for initation and submit housing application. If you choose to live on campus and then Lastly do not forget to submit your official transcript like your high school transcript or any of the colleges that you attended to attended as well as your test for if that is applicable to you so all students also required to submit your.
Health records like you are your vaccinations record by the first day of class, so you know. Make sure you prepare for that.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:12:00 PM
@Miranda, it is your overall transferable GPA
Lazer Introlegator
05:12:00 PM
What do I do if I didn't go to High School?
OK so I talked a little bit about my admission portal but this is where you want to sign in to review all of the things that I just mentioned earlier. So if you haven't, you know create your your account. Make sure you create that now and make sure you log in and make sure you are familiar with the layout and how to navigate and whatnot.
Pam Blanco
05:12:44 PM
hi Lazer, you won't be penalized for not submitting a high school transcript.
You're my admission is where we where, where we put everything for you at this point, right? So in that my admission you're going to be able to find your your sirf right. You gonna be able to find your financial aid package under my awards. You're going to be able to once you click that SIRC, there should be a student housing application available to you as well. And one thing that I want to add here is that once you submit your sirf your statement.
Maelani Gumataotao
05:12:59 PM
I had a question, for students who get a university grant, will they receive it the following year?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:13:11 PM
@Lazer, that's ok, you do not have to send in your high school transcript. It is highly recommended for those who took a language other than English or US History or Government, it can be helpful. But it is not required.
Of intent to registered, there will be a small deposit associate to that just to secure your spot here at Davis and all the UC's has the same same concept as well. OK. And don't forget that you still have to finish out the semester strong. So while you're preparing, you know for you to finalize your admission process, you still want to make sure that you keep your grades up for the spring semester.
OK, and then after that you party you celebrate OK.
OK, we go to the next one.
Pam Blanco
05:13:51 PM
hi Maelani, you have to submit the FAFSA/CADAA every year. so if your family income hasn't changed from the previous year, then most likely, you'll qualify for blue and gold
Yasmin Habib
05:13:59 PM
From Cosumnes River College my major is going to be Criminal Justice in UC Davis
Xavier Yubeta
05:14:04 PM
If we do not need student housing, we do not need to apply for student housing, is that right?
OK, when it comes to submitting your final official transcripts, there are three options for you, so you can. If your school offer electronic transfer transcript services like parchment or navions or the national Student Clearing House, or you know if you have military transcript, right? So that's one way, one option. Another options is that in a format in a secure format of PDF form, your school can submit.
Sanjana Dasgupta
05:14:10 PM
Do transfer students need to submit a high school transcript (from a foreign country)?
Monica Cordero
05:14:14 PM
If we are upcoming transfer juniors, do we still have to submit high school transcripts?
Marisa Alonzo
05:14:29 PM
How can I obtain official AP test scores? I've checked college board website but it states its been too long and they no longer have my scores accessible online (I took AP exams in 2014 and 2015). CRC has records of my AP test scores- would those be accepted?
That to our our Department directly by emailing it to us and the email address is right there, Aga UGA hyphen operations at ucdavis.edu. And then Lastly, your last option is to send it through the US Postal Service directly from your school to our University, and it has to be in a seal institutional envelope addressing to UC Davis, right? So that's also the address.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:14:54 PM
@Xavier, you are not required to live on campus.
Pam Blanco
05:14:54 PM
hi Sanjana - you will not be penalized for not submitting a high school transcript but if you have it available, then go ahead and submit it.
For students who have AP or IB scores, this is due by July 15th. So in order for you to request those, you can. If you have AP scores, there's the information for you to contact. You can call. You can give him a call, or you can go to the website and retrieve your AP score. That way, the UC Davis CEB code is 004834 and then again, if you also have IB scores.
Usually students have a lot of AP score and not so much I be. But if you are one of the students that have IB scores, that's the contact for you. The phone number for the IB office as well as their website where you can request the record.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:15:33 PM
@Yasmin, we do not have a criminal justice major, but we do have Sociology.
Make sure I don't skip any slides. There we go.
Alright, so for my international students at York Community College, you should be familiar with this page oosa.
Julia Stolarik
05:16:19 PM
How do I submit my FAFSA if I don't have access to my parents' tax info?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:16:22 PM
@Marisa, contact College Board. They can obtain your scores, no matter how many years or even decades have passed.
Website the website right there will basically disclose what are the requirement that you need to complete. You know, as a new student. So let me see real quick so SSIS can for services for international students and scholar office. They have a lot. They offer a lot of activities and culture orientation they have mentors for you and they also provide visa support. So if you happen to have like an I-20 where you going to have to transfer from your Community College to Davis.
That's the office that's going to be dealing with that. So again, the website is right there that they had like this nice, nicely. Kind of like created step by step for all of the students that are international that has international visa. So just make sure you check out that website.
Adnan Minasian
05:16:57 PM
wait i have to pay to submit my SIR?
Pam Blanco
05:17:02 PM
hi Julia - that is a very good question. my recommendation is for you to contact the financial aid office for some advise: https://financialaidmigrate.sf.ucdavis.edu/contact
Jessica Mei
05:17:15 PM
what's the deadline to submit transcripts?
Dimitri Arndt-Truong
05:17:19 PM
Do transfer students with AP scores on their transcript need to submit them thru college board as well?
OK, in regard to orientation, there are three parts to the orientation. We have the Aggie 101. We have Aggie advice and then we have Aggie orientation. The website that you can go directly on there to get more information about it is orientation.ucdavis.edu. Step one and Step 2 for Aggie 101. An Aggie advising are done online so don't feel like you have to be on campus in order to do that but the last part. Step 3 The Aggie orientation is a five day on campus.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:17:41 PM
@Jessica, July 1
I believe they will start from September 17th to the 21st and then in September you will be assigned to your AGI Orientation Canvas page and you cannot receive an email through your UC Davis email account, so you know it's really important that once you sirf that you check your email regularly just to make sure that you complete everything that they ask you to do OK.
I think one of the questions that students ask a lot is that you know when is Davis going to start right for false quarter. We will be starting September 22nd this year so you can go ahead and put that on your on your calendar.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:18:27 PM
Official transcripts are due July 1 and yes, if you took AP or IB exams, the scores must be sent by July 15. It is not optional.
OK, I want to talk a little bit about housing application. I believe the deadline for that is June 4th. So if you plan to live on campus, this housing application won't generate until usir. So if you already know that you're going to Davis, then go ahead and sirf and it's going to be the same kind of like format with other uses as well. So as soon as you sirf everything start to kind of like move along, right housing orientation, things like that, they're not going to start the process.
Rafaela Lomboy
05:18:47 PM
When is the deadline to accept our financial aid awards (loans, grants, scholarships)?
If you're not sure that you're going to go to the school yet, so that's kind of like a logical thing, but if you do plan to stay to live on campus at Davis, the application is June 4th, so it's pretty quick, right? Like from June 1st of the deadline for the sirf to June 4th, that's like 3-4 days, so make sure you look into that if if that's what you're interested in. As well. One more requirement that you have to complete is the vaccinations.
The vaccinations, right so vaccines proven vaccines for measles, mumps, rubella, an all of the other conditions. All of that has to be submitted before you start school, so the deadline there's not really a.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:19:28 PM
@Adnan, yes you have to pay your SIR deposit unless you qualify for the fee waiver.
Well, I guess the deadline is the 22nd, since school starts on September 22nd, right? So that's like the absolute last deadline that you can submit your records, and that's going through the our student health and Counseling Services Department. OK, so just make sure that you check out the website again. Our team will put all of the links at the end of the presentation in the chat so that you have access to all of the links that we're talking about right now. One thing that we want to point to you is that.
Yesenia Fonseca
05:20:08 PM
If our UC application was waived, do we still have to pay the $200 fee when we SIR
Jessica Mei
05:20:17 PM
are classes going to be on campus?
When you're looking at your financial aid package, there will be 1 section that talks about UC ship, which is your insurance. As a student, you do need insurance, but if you have insurance from your family or from work, you might not need a student health insurance at Davis or at any of the schools. And that is one of the estimate cost that you can waive. So if you go to the website you will have.
Miranda Lee
05:20:35 PM
Will on campus tours be available again this summer ?
Kylee Kerhulas
05:20:39 PM
do we need to submit SAT scores since we are transfers?
A an option to download the waiver and then you can fill that out and submit it if you don't want to pay about 2800 and some dollars, almost $3000 to have the insurance, but it's important if you don't have insurance, please make sure you take advantage of the insurance Ann and the services that it entails.
Pam Blanco
05:20:56 PM
hi Rafaela - i'm not sure if there is a hard deadline to accept any financial aid. once you submit your SIR and the SLR, things will start moving in the financial aid processing too. just be aware that tuition for fall qtr is due september 15, so if you are accepting fin aid, make sure there is enough time for you to accept and for the financial aid to actually kick in, because like everything else, things take some time
So now we're going to talk about transitioning to UC, OK?
Dylan Beck
05:21:10 PM
I have a Cal Grant, but it was not included in my financial aid file. How can I get that added?
We're gonna go into this next question. A lot of students during recruitment and during like the year. Students are aware that transferring from a semester school to 1/4 school is fast, right? So a lot of you are enrolled in a in a semester system, so it's really important that you understand how fast that is for you, how fast that will be for you from a semester system. Usually it's divided into 2.
Pam Blanco
05:21:39 PM
hi Dylan - that is a question best answered by financial aid directly - https://financialaidmigrate.sf.ucdavis.edu/contact
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:21:39 PM
@Yesenia, if you qualified for the fee waiver, your SIR deposit payment is deferred until the fall.
Yesenia Fonseca
05:21:55 PM
If we applied with on campus option but then switch to off campus, does it affect your financial aid award?
Semester right? You have fall and then you have spring and usually within the fall. In the spring you have about 15 weeks per say, but when you transferred to 1/4 system which is what Davis is an A lot of the UC's are. I think the only two UC's campus is that our semester system are using Merced, an UC Berkeley, but everyone else are quarter system and so quarter system basically divide the year into three parts. So we have the fall.
The winter and the spring and each of the each of the quarter will last about 10 weeks, so it's going really, really quick. So I guess like the best way to describe how fast a quarter system will feel like, our will look like is if you were to take a summer class at your school, right? Usually summer sessions are about like 8 weeks.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:22:37 PM
@Kylee, no you do not submit SAT or ACT scores UNLESS you are a sophomore level transfer. Those are very rare, so probably not.
Give or take, so that's kind of similar to that.
Pam Blanco
05:22:38 PM
hi Yesenia - yes, it will absolutely affect your aid award because living off campus is a couple of thousand dollars cheaper than living on campus
Ali Dehghani
05:22:48 PM
Should this transcripts include or spring semester as well, or everything as of fall?
Sorry I'm kind of trying to drive two things at the same time. Give me one second.
Monica Cordero
05:22:55 PM
How much is the SIR?
Kc Patterson
05:23:02 PM
Will Davis require students to have received the COVID vaccine?
Here OK perfect, so another expectations that we have here is that you want to make sure that you maintain your academic standing good academic standing.
Pam Blanco
05:23:13 PM
hi Ali - yes, your transcript/s need to include your final spring semester grades as well
Fatima Nerey Chavez
05:23:29 PM
For the IGETC is the same email as for transcripts?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:23:31 PM
@Kc, yes you will be required to take the vaccination.
I don't have to remind you how important that is, right? But when you get to a UC, once you transfer to a four year institution, qualitative and quantitative measure, it are really important. All of the UC students are expected to be enrolled full time, so the minimum of full-time it's about 12 units per quarter and you are expected to maintain AC average grade or better overall and per quarter. So it's really important that you are in good state in good academic standing.
And do not let your grade slip to ensure that you stay on track and that you will graduate on time.
Pam Blanco
05:23:58 PM
hi Fatima - yes, send it to Undergraduate Admissions. we will be sure to forward this to your College dean's office
Amrit Kang
05:24:01 PM
what if you didn't pass the AP exam then do you still have to submit the scors?
Now sometimes in life things happen and you can't be full time. There is a process that is done through the office of the Registrar's office at each of the UC's campus is where you can petition to go into part time status. So there are a few qualifying reasons where they would allow that. One of them being like if you are working right, you're working more than 30 hours.
Kyle Guanzon
05:24:24 PM
I got invited to the Transfer Edge Program, and I would like to learn more about it!
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:24:27 PM
@Amrit, no, you only send passing scores of 3 or higher
Candela Graciarena
05:24:49 PM
Why do transfer students need to submit their AP scores? I thought that went in with our UC app?
A week if you have family responsibilities that you have to take care of your sister or brother Cousins or I don't know grandparents or parents. If you have health conditions or if you're an actual graduating senior status at David or at the You see that your app, then you can petition for part time status. So that is an option for you if any time throughout your four year, your two year while you're here that you feel like you need to go part time.
It's OK to go part time. Just make sure that you fill out that petition appropriately and send it to the Registrar's office to get approval.
Pam Blanco
05:25:14 PM
hi Kyle - here is their website: https://summer-sessions.ucdavis.edu/transfer-edge and you can contact Jeff Katz at jpkatz@ucdavis.edu
OK, at our campus we have a lot of different opportunities for you to connect with a wide variety of interesting classes and majors, right? But sometimes.
Amar Zagdragchaa
05:25:30 PM
Is it ok to SIR to UCD and a CSU as a backup or will SIRing to multiple universities void them all?
Sometimes student might change their major right, so when that happened you can change your major after you finish one quarter in good academic standing and you complete your major required courses and you at this time you also need to talk to your major advisor to ensure that all of those are met before they allow you to petition to change a major or to add another major.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:25:57 PM
@Candela, the application is an honor system; we admit your trusting that your information is true. After you are admitted, you must prove what you stated by submitting official transcripts and test scores.
I know that a lot of students always like. They're like I, I want to add in the major or I want to add a minor or I want to change it because now I'm exposed to more major that Davis has to offer or the UC has to offer. If you are going to a UC you do have to successfully complete that first quarter or that first semester before you can declare another major. Or you can declare you can change to another major. So just kind of keep that in mind. If you do want to change your major, that's a very popular.
Pam Blanco
05:26:22 PM
hi Amar - if you SIR to multiple UCs, you will receive a communication asking you to choose which one you really want to commit to. also, if you paid the deposit, it is non-refundable
Frequently asked questions as well too.
And also ask you're going through this transfer process and going into a four year institution. Just kind of keep this in mind. You know stay focused, stay resilient, stay, you know, stay on track because.
Every year that you take.
You know to not graduate, you are essentially.
Nav Toor
05:26:58 PM
when will we able to talk to a UCD counselor, because I am planning on changing my major?
For forfeiting the amount that you're going to be making with that career, right? So for early career, salaries are data shows that you see Davis students usually average between 60, about $60,000 a year, right? And so if you essentially take one extra year, you know you could be making $60,000, and you're forfeiting that. So if you are taking an extra year, it has to be.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:27:19 PM
@Nav, you can discuss that with your advisers at Orientation.
You know it has to make sense to you. It has to make sense to your career projection. So just kind of keep that in mind as you're navigating through the last two years when at the four year institution.
Jane Huynh
05:27:40 PM
If we have sent our AP scores to Davis a while ago (either in CC or high school), would that count after we SIR to UCD?
Joseph Finklang
05:27:51 PM
Are there any opportunities for on campus substance free housing for incoming transfers?
I want to talk a little bit about tuition. OK, we we pride on the fact that 52% of the students that graduate you know they graduate without student loans and student debt and is all due to the UC system of like the the financial aid programs that we have, particularly to the UC system. So one of them is the UC blue and Gold Opportunity plan. I know we talk a lot about this during a lot of our top sessions, right? We talk a lot.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:28:30 PM
@Jane, if you sent your official scores from College Board at any point in time then you do not need to send them again.
About you know if your family income is less than $80,000, you might be eligible for that an if you don't see that in your financial aid package, make sure after usir make sure you contact the financial aid and scholarship Department to review that, or to reassess that. Another grant that we have at Davis is called an Aggie. Grant plan. An again. This one is if your family income is up to about $120,000 you will qualify for that.
Jessica Mei
05:28:37 PM
when the first day of classes for fall 2021?
Amrit Kang
05:28:48 PM
who should we talk to if we want to take summer classes?
So here we have an example of the summary page. When you sign into your my awards and this is where you can find information about your estimated cost of attendance, estimated financial aid, and then also any important notice that you might have.
Pam Blanco
05:29:13 PM
hi Joseph - the campus is smoke free same as pretty much all community colleges. the student housing office also has an addendum substance free community living agreement
If you sign into this and you see the red exclamation mark, that usually means something, right? I would hope so, right? So if you see something like that, just make sure you click on it and make sure you read it again. Make sure you read to see what is it about and the timeline when it's do so that you can.
Get the money that you needed to to finance your education.
Jasmine Lee
05:29:28 PM
Hi, I am not 100% about my major and was wondering what the process is to switch majors to see if that is an option if attend Daivs
OK, on my award and you will also see something like this. So in June I believe that's when you see Davis like our financial aid office when they start processing work study and so that's kind of like a little bit after. I think starting June or like between June to July, they're going to start that process. So if you are qualified or if you are eligible for it, you're going to have to click on the submit to change the age request.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:29:56 PM
@Jessica, instruction begins on Sep 22
And then you would have to authorize the third party authorization. Just go through all of that prompt before you know so that you can be eligible for that work. Study if you want to work when you're here.
Pam Blanco
05:30:14 PM
hi Jasmine - will talk about this in a later slide. but yes, you may change your major after you complete your first fall quarter
I know that 2020 is been challenging and sometimes may also affect your your employment right? So if that happens to you or happen to your family, there are a few appeal processes that we have here to report any changes in income. So there is a process called preliminary family contribution appeal and they usually do that starting May 1st and they basically review that before usir.
Kyle Guanzon
05:30:38 PM
If we are admitted for Fall 2021, are we able to start attending Davis in the Summer?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:31:01 PM
@Amrit you can apply starting on May 1 on the summer session website: https://summer-sessions.ucdavis.edu/apply-registration
And then after you sirf they have a family contribution appeal process with the second one and that's available July 1st where they would consider the changes in your financial situation due to any special circumstances. So Covid is considered special circumstances, right? So if you lose your job if you are parent had to file unemployment, you know that's that's all considered special circumstances. So you can go to the website right there and.
Ali Dehghani
05:31:18 PM
How should we send our IGETC certification to UC Davis?
Download the form and fill it out and submit it. Another process that they do is the cost of attendance appeal, which will be available October 1st and for this one they would consider any additional expenses that exceed the standard budget. Seems on your my admission. So if there is anything else that they didn't account for, you can always go back to that and fill out that appeal and then send that to them. OK now I want to talk a little bit about scholarship to ask you guys. Start applying for scholarships right? Like between now summer all the way until when you get to the UC's.
Pam Blanco
05:31:46 PM
@Kyle - yes, anyone can attend summer session! https://summer.ucdavis.edu/ if you take 6 units per summer session, you may be able to apply for financial aid
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:31:58 PM
@Ali, you can send your IGETC along with your transcripts. Just ask you CC to send them to UCD Undergraduate Admissions.
Aaron Holsonege
05:32:15 PM
I've been collecting official transcripts from my colleges - leaving them sealed in the envelopes they were sent in. Am I able to send those all to UCD, or do they need to be sent directly from each individual school?
Sometimes you will apply and you will hear back within a couple months and if you do get a scholarship awarded, please make sure you contact the Financial Aid Office to let them know the changes so that they can readjust your. You know your grants or scholarships and federal students and things like student aids and things like that. So just make sure you remember that here we're going to talk a little bit about the important date for you. You can take a picture of this or if you miss it, yeah, take a picture of it.
Jenna Heath
05:32:17 PM
What is the housing for next year - will we be able to dorm with a double?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:32:39 PM
@Jenna, yes, you may choose. I believe they are even doing triples!
I want to wrapped it up with this timeline and I encourage that you take a picture of it just so that you don't miss any of the deadlines that is on. Here again, we do have like this yield fantastic yield event. Call Aggie experience live where you're exposed to, you know, like faculties, students, staff and different support programs that UC Davis has to offer. All of the UC's supposed to have something similar to this, but so if you are going to check them out, just make sure that you know you take this opportunity to kind of like.
Jasdeep Gill
05:32:53 PM
is all the dining information included in the housing application as well?
Pam Blanco
05:33:00 PM
hi Aaron - as long is it is sealed by that institution, then you can send those to us and we will consider those as official
See what else they have to offer besides what you can see on their website, and then don't forget to submit your your sirf by June 1st. Some of you already submitted, but if you haven't submitted make sure you remember to submit it every year. We always have students that wanted to go to the school and then they forgot to submit it and there's not really a way to go around it if you didn't submit it, you didn't submit it. Your spot is going to be giving up giving to somebody else, so it's really important that you don't miss that deadline. OK, same thing with.
Alex Moropoulos
05:33:22 PM
@Marisa Alonzo Collegeboards keeps paper records for older AP scores, so you have to request they send that by mail to UC Davis. It will require faxing or mailing them.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:33:22 PM
@Jasdeep, yes, you may sign up for a meal plan on the housing application.
Melissa Kucukdemirci
05:33:46 PM
Will we get to learn more about the transfer edge program during this meeting?
Student housing application is due June 1st, so just make sure that once you submit your essay are you want to get started in that process immediately. If you plan to live on campus, July 1st is the deadline that you have to turn in your official transcripts. OK, so just make sure you have that and then anything about like test scores, AP exams, IB exams. Any of that is due on July 15th.
Nav Toor
05:33:56 PM
are we allowed to do study abroad for this summer or would it be only after fall
Pam Blanco
05:34:16 PM
hi Melissa - no, we will not cover transfer edge, but you can contact their coordinator Jeff Katz jpkatz@ucdavis.edu
If you take classes over the summer, you know you would have to turn in another transcript and that that will be due September 1st I believe. So if you are planning to take summer classes just to get ahead, you know at your Community College right now if you plan to do that, just make sure you submit your your your official transcript with that summer grades by September 1st.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:34:19 PM
@Nav, we do not know yet when it will be safe to travel abroad.
OK, so earlier I kind of mentioned a little bit about top services. I took a screenshot of our are kind of like a Google Doc. I will provide that to you at the end as well, but our team created this kind of like.
Patrick Roy Blanco
05:34:47 PM
Do I need to send my AP exam scores to Davis if I already got the exams credited for at my CC?
Two documents that pertain to financial literacy and then the other one is pertains to top resource guide with like Davis Information. The all of the support program that we think will meet your basic needs. Things like that. So we put all of that in here in one spot for you to access. So will share that with you later on when I end this presentation and then Lastly, I was debating to test to see if we should put this.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:35:12 PM
@Patrick, as we have stated before, yes you must send official scores from the College Board.
Or not an eye after we talked to Pam about it, I said I think it's important for us to kind of like at least bring your attention to this so.
Mikaela Damouny
05:35:24 PM
I want to apply for on campus apartments, and I have a friend who already attends UC Davis who is also applying for housing. Is there a way I will be able to room with her and other roommates? Because I noticed our deadlines to apply for housing are different
On April 22nd, the UC Office of the President shared the this detailed proposal policy for COVID-19 vaccinations as part of the return back to campus.
Requirement kind of thing. It's right now. Still a proposal OK is still proposed is not yet finalized. They haven't said anything about it yet, but it's it's out there.
Ali Dehghani
05:35:53 PM
Should we submit a second transcript for the summer grades?
And it requires staff, students, faculty members, and basically anybody that come to campus to be vaccinated. So it's not just you see is. Also, I think our sisters system Csus systems also participating in this as well. So if you are happening to go into any of that direction, CSU or UC's just be aware of this proposed policy and make sure you read up on on it.
But as soon as we find out more information, we will surely let you know the up-to-date information. But I kind of wanted to bring this up to your to your attention just so that you know you don't get side blindsided, OK?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:36:32 PM
@Ali, yes. You send your transcript with your final spring grades by July 1, and then your summer grades are due by Sept 15.
Pam Blanco
05:36:56 PM
hi Mikaela - you will need to work closely with our Student Housing office. both you and your friend need to indicate that you want to be roommates. contact housing: https://housing.ucdavis.edu/contact-us/ and also attend the housing webinar during Aggie Experience Live next week
So there are a lot of different virtual tools that you can participate in. I know that Covid is not helpful when you can't go to campus and check out the campus and things like that, but we you know we we we try our best to make sure that you know to meet your needs by providing the that or virtually so if you haven't done it. So if you haven't checked it out, please consider checking it out. We also have logs for admission as well, so if you haven't check out that website, be go on there and take a look at it.
And then if you are curious about what you can do with your major, this is another great website for you to read up on.
Kyle Guanzon
05:37:18 PM
Are we able to pay off-campus housing using our financial aid if we don't want to live on campus, or does it only apply for on-campus housing?
Kylee Kerhulas
05:37:36 PM
for conditions of Enrollment, is the 2.8GPA cumulative or 2.8GPA semester?
And then you can stay connected with us. Here are all of our socials. We have a lot of students that are current Aggies and they you know they still connect with us on Instagram and Facebook and things like that. We get invitations for graduation, sometimes through there as well. So please make sure to connect with us.
And talked a little bit about how you live at Aggie Experience Live. So starting next week we're going to have this whole week of fun activities and yield event for you. So starting on the 4th of May we have college and majors 101, so if you want to learn a little bit more about your major, that will be the day to go. If you want to know more about transfer support and the different programs that we have on campus that that can that you can take advantage of.
Pam Blanco
05:38:11 PM
hi Kyle - your financial aid award takes into account tuition and living expenses, so in general, you can use aid towards housing off campus
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:38:14 PM
@Kylee, as stated before, you must have a minimum transferable GPA of 2.8 or higher after your spring 2021 semester.
David Imiri
05:38:20 PM
Is there a virtual orientation option?
That will be on the 5th, the 6th. You will have more of content on transitioning to UC Davis, so like you're going to be able to talk to students and kind of like get some stories about how they do it so that you can see how you can do apply it to you.
Victoria Alexander
05:38:36 PM
Are my messages not posting?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:38:47 PM
@Victoria, what is your question?
Pam Blanco
05:38:48 PM
hi David - orientation is 3 parts. aggie 101 and aggie advising are both virtual
On the 7th and the 8th and the 7th we are going to have some of the workshop where we give you some tips on how to make the most out of your two year while you're at UC and on the 8th, we will conclude that with making some connections with you see. So I think I believe it's going to be a fair is on a Saturday I believe. Let me see.
Shannon Marshall
05:39:03 PM
Do you have to be there for all 5 days of orientation?
Yeah, that's going to be on the Saturday the 8th, so there's going to be like a fair that you can meet. You know, like different student groups support programs and on like a virtual fair. So if you are interested in that you can go to that.
Monica Cordero
05:39:20 PM
Will all classes be held on campus in the fall?
Pam Blanco
05:39:40 PM
hi Shannon - you can sign up only for the sessions that you want to attend specifically
I see we had an event going on today at 6:30, so after this, if you like to go, you can go. There's a the event info and then on the 15th they also have a symposium for careers. So that's another cool event for you to partake in, and then if you would like to buy any gears, they do have 25% off for swag. So if you are interested, that's the promo code right there on the bottom.
And then again, I'm going to say it one more time. Don't forget to Sir by June 1st, OK. If anything you need to remember out of this long presentation. That's the one thing that you need to do.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:39:57 PM
@Monica, as of now, they are planning to have most classes on campus, but that can change depending on what happens with Covid spikes.
Alright, so now we're going to go ahead and open up for.
We can go ahead and open it up for Q&A.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:40:26 PM
There are l lot of questions, typing furiously!
Jasmine, how are you doing with all the questions? Thank you so much Jasmine for being here and for typing all of the answers and providing the students all of the information we do have like 202 participant in this room right now. And so that's a lot of question so.
So Joseph, you asked, is there anything wrong with the housing application? Can you elaborate a little bit on that? What's wrong with the housing application? I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
Feel free to drop to a PC.
Feel free to elaborate a little bit more on that question and I'll be more than happy to provide that. And then I think I saw one question about the swag, so I'm going to bring it back to this slide so the promo code is.
Manny Hemdan
05:41:13 PM
When do we get to sign up for classes and meet with a counselor about getting the right classes
Jackie have a question for you.
So is it possible to apply for school run employment opportunities even though I will not begin my coursework until fall?
Jordan Blandino
05:41:31 PM
Is it possible to apply for school-run employment opportunities even though I will not begin my coursework until fall?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:41:33 PM
@Eman, during Orientation.
Yingzi Ye
05:41:59 PM
Just curious, how many people in this meeting? :)
He only answered. I can answer it 'cause I think that's really, really important. This came up in my session just before this. I haven't added another workshop, so once USIR I'm about two weeks after that you will have access to our hand tree platform. So that is a website through the internship and Career Center. That's where you can find on campus student employment as well as internships that are available to you so.
Jackie Nguyen
05:42:18 PM
HANDSHAKE https://icc.ucdavis.edu/find/resources/handshake
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:42:21 PM
@Yingzi, there were over 300 at one point, now 200!
Make sure to start early. Start looking at different. You know options for for on campus employment or for you know UC Davis, employment for sure.
Jordan Blandino
05:42:29 PM
Thanks Pam!
101 students oh sorry just.
Elyse Eblin
05:42:39 PM
What is the average amount of credits per class?
I'm gonna say Pam, I'm gonna say Pam that you know after transferring you know if this is your first quarter though I yes familiar with the platform and you know what kind of jobs out there in the community. But I highly suggest that you give yourself, you know at least the first quarter.
Alex Moropoulos
05:42:59 PM
On MyAwards, it says financial aid awards are unavailable and will be available once official admission notices have been sent. I am not on the waitlist. Should I be seeing something right now?
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:42:59 PM
@Elyse usually 3 or 4 quarter units per class.
To adjust to figuring out how you know how fast you can adapt to the change right before you consider getting a job.
So and if you are interested in working with top, how about us? Because we are we. We are always hiring for students. Passionate students who want to do the same thing. You know, by helping other students trying to go through the process as well because it really. It really comes down to it takes a village to get you guys through this to this end. So so if you are interested in that, just let us know and we will send that information over to you once it's available.

Will it be remote or on campus?
So another question that we get all the time is will fall quarter be remote or on campus.
Kelly Graziadei
05:43:52 PM
How many units are advised to take with the quarter system? I am used to a semester system
Right now is go. It will all of the UC's say that they are going to have their planning to have it in person. However, they are probably going to implement it more on like kind of like a hybrid model where some classes will probably be online in some classes are going to be in.
Ben Lee
05:44:13 PM
Where do I pay for the SIR? I didn't see anything like that when I submitted
Another question is where do I pay for the SIRC?
I didn't see anything like that when I submitted.
Ala Rahman
05:44:42 PM
@Adnan i had to pay when i submitted my SIR
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:44:55 PM
@Kelly, the minimum is 12, but you must take a minimum of 39 per year, which average to 13 per quarter. So usually people start with 12 the first quarter, then take 16 in winter, then 12 or 16 in spring.
'cause once you submit, guys have to remember that it needs to system need to run and sometimes for a lot of like higher education their system behind the scene runs at night, right? 'cause during the day a lot of people are using it so it's not running in the during the day, but it runs at night and so once you submit it it doesn't. It has to run and take its course first before you can start seeing the bill right.
Take a few few days. If you don't see it in a few days, reach out, let us know and then we can troubleshoot and try and see what's going on.

Will students be required to take the covid vaccine to enroll?
I think you already addressed this earlier, but we have another question about if students will be required to take the Covid vaccine to enroll.
Right now is a proposed policy, but it's not set in stone yet. An earlier I mentioned that literally they literally just had a meeting one week on the 22nd and they release that that that was proposed planned right. And it's not just the UCAS also potentially CSU as well too.
Joseph Bulda
05:45:51 PM
What was the site where I could see what I can do with my major?
So right now is a proposed plan, but it might. It might be, but nothing, not nothing is set in stone yet. And once we hear about it, we will let you guys know.
I usually send out emails to my students as soon as I see anything like change. That is critical. I usually send out like an email and let me know hey, heads up, you know this is coming.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:46:18 PM
@Joseph, https://www.ucdavis.edu/academics/majors. The names of the majors are hyperlinked and take you directly to the department website.
Seems like there was a few questions on whether the you see blue and gold plan cover housing. Does anyone know that answer? Jasmine or Pam? Do you know if it cover housing? I know that it's going to.
Fahad Alhworani
05:46:37 PM
Does the UC Blue and Gold plan cover housing?
Joseph Bulda
05:46:46 PM
Thank you Jasmine
Robanjeet Singh
05:46:53 PM
Who should I contact for financial aid?
No, no it doesn't cover housing, so the blue and gold opportunity to plan by itself. It covers the tuition and that the base tuition, right? However, you're financially package when they calculate that it takes into account not just your tuition and fees, but your entire cost of attendance. So depending on your eligibility, right? If you are if you're eligible for a lot of financial aid, you know, AKA or a poor starving student, then you'll get.
Of free money. A lot of financial aid that will cover.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:47:10 PM
@Robby https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/contact
You know more than just your tuition?
So it may cover some of your housing as well.

Cynthia Cabrera Rodriguez
05:47:37 PM
When can I apply for the blue and gold?
There were a few questions here asking if this is recorded. Yes, all of the top webinars are always recorded and you can always go to our top Thursday landing page. I'm guessing that once this is finalized, once we end meeting, I will send an email over to our CRM manager Lars, and then he will have to go into the top landing page and then.
Add that in there. So give us about, you know.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:47:54 PM
@Miranda, Orientation, and yes.
A week Max, but I will make sure that I send that that request to have this uploaded on our top landing page. So if you don't know what that top landing page look like, let me see if I can get the website and I can put that in the chat for y'all and you can save it.

is there a specific policy/ gpa threshold we need to upkeep for our last spring semester?
Hey, there was a question on what if you qualify for a fee waiver? Where would you? Where can I find the SIRC deposit? The fee waiver are you in? Are you talking about the UC application fee waiver? I don't think that's connecting to the SIRC deposit though.
Thy Diep
05:49:11 PM
Can I meet counselor in person to talk about my education plan?
The fee waiver for the easy application is different than the SIRC deposit.
Simsolika Akuluze
05:49:19 PM
Hi, how do you know if you qualify for a fee waiver ?where can you find the SIR deposit?
Pam Blanco
05:49:29 PM
hi Thy - you will meet your advisor during orientation
Angela, your question. I might have to come back to you. I'll reach out to the Health Center and ask. But or.
Or maybe I can ask one of my students who are currently at Davis that have that has kids, but I'm not sure if the ship applied to child dependent too.
Do you know him if they do?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it just covers the student it doesn't cover.
Yeah, you would have to purchase, you know set up right?
Insurance for dependence. But you know we can. We can get back to Angela. We know how to get ahold of you.
Aurora Michel
05:50:13 PM
Is there a way to check which classes I will need when I transfer and how long it will take me to graduate as of now?
Let me write that down too, so I'll make sure we will get back to you on that one.
OK I got I got you down. OK so I'll I'll reach out to the.
Angela Gose
05:50:30 PM
Does SHIP apply to child dependents too?
To the Department and ask and I'll get back to you on that one.
Oh, earlier I did mention that I was going to provide you all of the links.

Do transfer students get priority registration? I am worried about getting into the courses I need.
A lot of them are really good ones because it pertained to your current situation right now, which is in that transition from, you know, from your Community College to Davis. So again, like the orientation one, the the health insurance one where you have to submit your vaccinations, records and stuff like that. Like it's it's the website that you want to read. There's also a frequently asked question.
Manny Hemdan
05:51:23 PM
Can you graduate a year earlier if you finish your credits fast enough?
Elyse Eblin
05:51:30 PM
What student status/rank gets to schedule courses first?
Pam Blanco
05:51:31 PM
hi Jashan - on the UC application, yes, you have to report all coursework exactly as it appears on your transcript/s
About your vaccination as well. Like for example, I saw some of the questions earlier talking about what if I got my vaccination in like a foreign country? Like because you're you are over there right now with that count and things like that. Make sure you look at the the frequently asked question and and see if they have that answer in there.
Hualong Yu
05:51:42 PM
I graduated in 2006 from high school in China. Due to my high school already shut down, I cannot find any contact number. so how I can summit the high school transcripts ( I have the High school certificate, and course Transcripts in my mailbox, which I ask from school 10 years ago, is that work for the requirement? )
And then there was sorry, hold on one second.
Do transfer take classes this summer NAV?
Nav Toor
05:51:56 PM
do transfers take classes this summer
If you are taking classes over the summer at your Community College, make sure you meet with your top coordinator and see.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:52:24 PM
@Yesenia@Elyse your registration is based on how many units you have completed.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:52:36 PM
@Eman, yes!
If you understand why you're taking it right 'cause you are at the very end, so the only for me, the only the only time when I would take summer classes because I'm, I know for my major, I may be missing one or two class that's for graduation. Then I would, you know, I would do that. I rather do that at a Community College rather than doing it once I get over here. But if you are taking it for other reasons like you know, finishing your I get see or finishing your ATT or anything like that. That is something that you might want to consult with your Community College because.
Joshua Roy
05:52:49 PM
Does being a part-time student limits the classes I can take in a quarter and affect my priority for registering classes?
Not all of the community colleges process that I get see Ortho associate degree to transfer, so it's important that you check with them to see if they do process it then you know and then you can take it over the summer. If they say yes. If they say no then you might want to consider you know alternative ways. But again I think that if you still have let's say if your major still have a few more classes that you still need to take an and they offer it at your Community College, why not you know.
David Imiri
05:53:11 PM
What is your process for vaccine exemptions?
Get ahead, but remember, if you do take it over the summer, just make sure you request for a final transcript with the graves and then send it over to us by September 1st.
Pam Blanco
05:53:38 PM
@David - vaccine exemptions info can be found here: https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/new-students/entrance-requirements
And make sure you do well as well. OK, you don't. You're not obligated to take classes over the summer, but if you take a class, if you register for a class and then you bombed that class, that's going to be a problem. So just make sure you are intentional with your approach is an make sure you understand why you're taking what you're taking, and you know before you make any any moves.

Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:54:04 PM
@Joshua, you are expected to be a full time student unless you obtain special permission. Yes, it will affect your registration status since you will not be accumulating units as fast as everyone else, and registration seniority is based on the number of units you have completed.
Zoe, yes, the deadline for returning your sirf is in June. So how do you turn that in right? So you have to sign into your my admission once you sign into your my admission you Scroll down. It's literally like right in the middle of the page. It's like right in your face like it's right there and it would say yes or no so you would just literally click yes or no hope that you click. @Kyle, please submit the info on the myadmissions portal. You will receive a specific answer within a week. It really depends on what course you are dropping and how many units you have.
Once you sign into your my admission, read your condition. Done OK next right click on your my awards. Look at your financial aid. I've been doing that a lot this week. When I meet with my students during one on one appointment, they have questions in the financial aid section, my award section, and I would go through each of them and kind of like decipher it with them and explain it with them. Everyones package, financial aid package looks very different. You know you have. I had students that only had loans offered to them. I had students that didn't even have anything because their Internet.
Shannon Marshall
05:57:24 PM
So if we already have insurance, we can wave that fee?
National student and then I had students that had like University Grant on their the Regent Scholarship. On there I had students that had like Pell Grant Cal Grant in there as well and so your your record is really going to be different and unique to yourself to your your situation. So if you feel like you need to reach out to us to kind of like decipher it.

You will click on the very first box here. Bread say top processor.
Jackie, can I interrupt just real quick?
I think that there are some students who that keeps submitting their questions over and over. So if I could just request, you know, for students to just be patient, there's only three of us here and actually just two of us answering the questions on the chat. So just be patient. You know we're going to get through them.
You know, please avoid trying to submit it multiple times. Thank you.
Ajeshni Kumar
05:59:15 PM
I have a scholarship through a corporation and for her to transfer over to UC Davis it needs to be signed by a counselor saying that I am going there, how would I go about doing that.
Jasmine Lautzenheiser
05:59:15 PM
@Sanjana, if you are in the honors program or you are an athlete you get priority registration.
Thank you so here, just in case your question. I mean you have a lot of questions on there, but just in case we don't finish them all, you can always go here and find out who your top coordinator is, right? And if you click on them you should be able to get a an email.
Right, and then you just you just know an email. All of your questions. Please don't do one at a time. Please do home at the time.
Pam Blanco
05:59:49 PM
hi Ajeshni - you can print your admit letter that you can find on your MyADmissions website
Because we do get a lot of emails throughout, you know, during this time of the year, right where we're helping students who are admitted. But then we're also helping students who are on waitlists. We're also helping students who are denied as well, and we're also working with families and counselors through this process as well. So so if you have any questions, just be very intentional with what questions you asking, and then just make sure you have all of the questions in one email and then send it to us and it will be easier for us to kind of navigate through that and give you all the answers that you need.

OK, the question Quincy you asked like how do you? How do we know our UC Davis email? Once you sirf they then they will generate one for you, right? Like until you sirf, nothing is going to happen so once usir the system start to move right and all of the processes all the parts is going to start to two.
Quincy Gonzales
06:01:46 PM
How do we know our UCD email? What would it be?

Bio launches one of the support program that helps students navigate through the major. So if they reach out to you, that's awesome.

How does the OK Charissa? How does the Aggie Grant work? So let me go back to that slide really quick.
So that one is also majority of the UC financial aid programs are base needs. So that means like income right so?
The adequan let me see if I can go back to that slide for you, but that I believe if your family makes less than.
Kaye Guillartes
06:03:40 PM
So, we should be vaccinated before we head into this fall quarter when we submit our immunization records?
Make around $120,000 you qualify for that.
So all of the low income it will be like the blue and gold oppurtunity plan, which you know where your family income is up to 80,000 and then the next tier to that would be your AGI plan grant plan where your income, your family income contribution is is up to $120,000.

06:05:26 PM
here is the LINK REGARDING IMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS AND HEALTH INSURANCE: https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/new-students
So that's the five day on campus, but the first two steps are going to be on line. OK, so it's kind of like an on line process. The the Aggie 101. Literally you guys, it probably take you less than an hour because I did it when they launch it last year and I went through the whole entire thing and it took me about 35 minutes. It's pretty cool and then the advising one so once you're done with the first step.
Then they send that notification over to your Department major advisor and then they will start. You know, sending you information on how to make an appointment and you will make an appointment, and that's when you start your advising. And then once you're done with that, you're going to start registering for classes and then the next thing is right before school. Start that five days is going to be on campus.

I will just reach out via email! Thank you so much y'all, these webinars are always so helpful!
There is a question about Joshua's asking. Does being a part time student limit the amount of units or credits that they can take in 1/4?
So part time means that you're taking less.
Then twelve quarter units.
You know, and sometimes that that's OK. You know when things happen in life and you need to step back a little bit to take care of yourself and your family. That's completely OK, you know. And then and then when you're ready to physically mentale and spiritually, then, then then. Then you take on the load. You know, a lot of our students too. Depending on the majors, they take more than 12 units, and sometimes students would take like summer sessions.
As well, so don't feel like you have to take the classes in the certain unit, like right when it's supposed to be. So let's say if you deviate a little bit, that's not going to. That's not going to harm anybody. It's just it's your journey. Is your process. Do what's right for you, right? Like ideally, we want you to, you know, get over here, stay on track and then graduate and go out there and do amazing things with your career with your mate with your degree. But sometimes you might need another year.
And as long as you know why you're taking that extra year, is it to prepare for your Graduate School? Is it to prepared for? I don't know. Whatever next come next then, as long as you know that reason, then you're fine. You're fine, it's fine, but I just want to make sure that you all understand that you know this is your journey. You don't have to raise with nobody, and I know that there's a standard.
Push for, you know, transfer student finish in two years like there you know that thing is real. It's out there. But again, it's your situation, your life, your your journey is unique to you, right? So just take care of yourself as you're going through this process.
There's a ton of questions in here.
Are you still OK jacket keep going?

is Aggie Experience Live mandatory?
I know there is a question I and we already covered this earlier in your slides. No man, I don't know. Maybe they missed it. What would happen if your overall quarter GPA falls below a 2.0?
Japleen Kaur
06:09:00 PM
Are all Regents Scholarships announced already?
You will be on academic probation.
So if if your GPA so remember on the slide that I mentioned earlier, right? Like the overall and the UC semester as well. So there's two things right? As a transfer student you're going to come in with.
Pam Blanco
06:09:28 PM
hi Japleen - yes, they have already been announced as part of the admission
Whatever GPA that is. So if you come in with a low GPA then you not, you don't have a lot of buffer right? So if you happen to go into academic probation that first quarter, then you overall is going to dip as well, right? Like that's just easy math, right? So so when that happens then you're going to go on to academic probation and that happens a lot. You know, like when I started school that happened to me because I didn't know like I did. You know from high school to college it's.
If there's a change of vigoren in the subject that you're studying an, you know an my first semester, I did. I was in academic probation and that's sometimes normal.
Ben Lee
06:10:18 PM
How long does it take UC Davis to approve your Handshake account?
Pam Blanco
06:10:35 PM
Benjamin - about 2 weeks after you submit your SIR
And when that happens, that just means that you would have to meet with a counselor just to make sure that you guys identify action plans so that you can prevent from making another semester falling into that academic probation status again, right? So that's going to happen for some schools after two consecutive semesters. If your GPA don't go, you don't do well. You don't go. If it doesn't go up, then you get the school kicked you out.
So again, I could see my probation the first quarter. Sometimes that happen. I've met a lot of students that that happened to you, but you really do meet with your counselors to strategize and to identify on ways to study, better to use whatever resources they have available while you're taking these classes to ensure that you don't get into that situation again for the following quarter.

My financial aid package does not show any awards, I review the requirements and it says my AB540 needs to be reviewed but I can’t submit any information through the portal. what can I do to see if I’m elegible to any awards?
They are very proactive about that.
Right our our community, our school. Every school, you know, they really prioritize on retention retaining you guys keeping you guys in school, making sure that you follow through what your requirements are in order to graduate you on time. Like there everyone, everyone in the community at all of the campuses. There they're all in this mission together, right? As as computer all in this mission together to make sure that you get.
You get in, you do what you need to do, and then you get out in a timely matter. We don't want you to be here all forever. We would love for you to come back for Graduate School, but we don't want you to be here for 10 years doing undergraduate degree.
There is another question.
where do we? Where do we submit that I got the certification?
Pam Blanco
06:12:27 PM
Mario - please contact the financial aid office:https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/contact
The same, depending on which options you choose, like if your if your school offer like PDF version of it, or if they offer like electronic copy of it, then then you submit that. But it all goes over to Davis undergrad and then what will happen is that once we receive it, we send it over to your schools beans.
OK, and it kind of varies from campus to campus to I know that csus when you do that, they actually go through the registrar. So depending on which campus but?
But for Davis particularly, it goes to us, and then we send it over to the Deans Office, because essentially the Deans Office are the entities. Are the people that basically will once you're ready to graduate, they basically go through the whole entire thing and fill out all of the parts of your of your graduation before they send that over to our Registrar's office. 2.
To submit for graduation for candidacy.

06:13:26 PM
can we apply to the honors program while we are at uc davis or is it invite only?
Now there's there's some questions.
Ali Dehghani
06:13:35 PM
Should we submit a second transcript for the summer classes?
So Ali as should we submit second transcript too for summer classes, yes yes yes yes yes so.
If you are taking classes over the summer, please make sure you send in the final transcript with that summer grade on there by September 1st.
yeah, I that's yeah, I already answered that one earlier. So here's a question from Robbie on the financial slide where they say loan means we pay back.
Robanjeet Singh
06:14:03 PM
on the financial slide where they say "loan " means we pay back?
Yeah, so in your financial package it will probably have like two different types of federal loans.
Or three, they might have like a subsidized and subsidized. And then they might have like a parent loan if you know if your parents qualified. If you want to learn more about that, I highly recommend that you go to that top landing page earlier that I give you an an an watch the videos that we did for financial Literacy Week. We broke down know why certain loans is better than others, why loans should not be.
You shouldn't be fearful of loan because it's a form of investment and then you know depending on your where you work later on, you know you could get your loan forgiven, like my partner, he worked for the state and he you know he's an attorney and he worked for the state and he has a lot of like a high number loan. OK, like.
A high number of times I'm just gonna say that OK, and so he started working for the state an within 10 years. That loan is going to be forgiven and so so don't feel like you should be scared alone. But I want you to approach it with you know with research with understanding on how to make it beneficial for you and your situation. But again, we did do a lot of research about financial literacy, about bones. About all of these different resources for you as you're navigating through that.
You know how how to finance your education like we did all of that research and broke it down, simplify it, and demystify a lot of the concepts to make sure that you're that is, the information is digestible for you.
So watch it please, please watch it.
Is there assistant in purchasing a bike?
They always have the local bikes.
Well, last time when I was on campus.
I passed by, where was it like where the buses are?
Let the we have the bike barn over at the side.
Yeah, and they always have sales and then I remember when my one of my best friend went to Davis she went to like.
Like a a bike yard and purchase like you Spike because sometimes students would graduate and they don't want to take their bike 'cause they have to like their out of state or they live far away. They don't want to bite so they just they sell the bike to those locations and then they would just resell it back to students, future students and so you could also purchase that out of discount as well if you're on like Facebook or like the marketplace and stuff like that I sometimes see.
Jordan Blandino
06:17:26 PM
Is there assistance for purchasing a bicycle?
Like bikes like student selling bike on marketplace offer up also is a great app. You know next door is also a great app for you to see if there's any anyone in the region you know selling certain things.
Cynthia, I don't know if Cynthia is still here. I know a lot of people already left.
But she's asking about tutoring. If we have tutoring available for students at UC Davis.
Of course, of course, and it's not just Davis, you guys. It's like everywhere. And remember, we talked about like how higher education really emphasize on recent student, right? Like they put a lot of money and effort and intention, intentionality behind retaining you guys. They want to make sure that once we make that investment.
I accepting you that we investing all of these things back to you to make sure that whatever that goal you're trying to achieve.
That you're going to be able to achieve those, right? So it's important that once you go to the school they want to see you graduate like that's that's so important for every institution that you're going to do so at every institution that that are public. I use, I probably 100% of the time they do have tutoring services, right?
But as a student in a four year institution, you might have certain classes you might have TAA besides your professor. Your TA also help you with, you know any questions you may have as well, not just the the the tutoring services that the campuses provide.
So there's a question about whether Aggie Experience Live is mandatory. It's not and you don't have to attend every single session that we offer during Aggie Experience Live, you can just register for the ones that are relevant to you.
Jessa Ferrer
06:19:29 PM
So, to clarify, we only have to submit our passing AP scores right?
There is also another question about if they applied and got accepted from your UC application that we still need to submit all our high school and college transcripts. Yes, that is an important part of your conditions of admission. You have to submit all of your official documents. All of your college transcripts from all colleges and universities you've attended.
So make sure to review your conditions of admission.
Do you know or think I have it up here somewhere?
You already mentioned when moving dates are.
It's usually couple days before your orientation, like the five day orientation starts.
It's going to be in September or move into there. Yeah, and a lot of the questions that you're asking too.
Do you find that look like here?
Jackie Nguyen
06:20:39 PM
Admitted Timeline https://myadmissions.ucdavis.edu/applicants/deadlines/transfer.cfm
SISS https://siss.ucdavis.edu/pre-arrival-checklist
Orientation "https://orientation.ucdavis.edu/
"
There are a few that I want to put in the chat for you.
Make note on the one that's a admitted timeline.
I I always refer to that because.
Because they have like let me see if I can share screen again really quick.
So I like it a lot because it literally.
Will tell you like OK March, what should you be?
Focusing on May, what are you focusing on? June, July, August.
Great September all the way into September.
So I really like this website for that reason.
How are you doing Pam? I know we're like going into 30 minutes now.
Want to make sure that everyone is still OK?
Yeah, I'm well I'm I'm still trying to look for the move in dates, but it's usually a week before orientation. You know, the Aggie orientation? Step three of the orientation process? And that's going to be from the 17th to the 21st because because instruction starts on the 22nd. So it's probably a week before that or the weekend.
But there's a housing session next week. I believe it's on Wednesday, so we're not housing experts. We're not financial aid experts.
But they will have their own sessions next week.

Here's the website that is talked about.
They will be offering so if you click on you see if I can share screen again real quick here.
Well, here's a good question. If official and this is a common question. So official high school transcript have been submitted to our junior college, will those be automatically sent to the UC or should we send an official copy separately? Yeah, you have to send us a an official copy separately, so you'll have to contact your high school.
To send us an official high school transcript.
Yeah, football will not allow school to send over the main school. Need to send it over so it's not. It's not their job to do that, so just make sure you contact with your school too.
Please say hi to my students.
Your key, but you gotta get out of here. OK just say hi and say congratulations. Hi everybody.
Adulations, I'm so proud of you.
But yeah, so this is right here.

06:25:37 PM
If you ever need a baby sitter I'm here. I am a preschool teacher currently : )
Where can I? This is a good question comma question. Also where can I find the per unit cost for classes for California residents?
You go to cost of attendance. I will look up the website for you really quick. So if you type in like cost of attendance UC Davis you should be able to find it on our financial aid website.
Jackie Nguyen
06:26:06 PM
https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/cost
the big difference though, is that would you seize an would see as news. It's not per unit for the regular academic terms, right? So the cost that you're seeing the 14,000 something? Something is for the entire year and then that is divided into 3 terms because we're in 1/4 system and that is your cost per quarter and the minimum number of units as Jackie explained earlier, is 1012 units for a full time student, so that's the minimum to be full time.
But you can, you know, take 15 units. You know, maybe when you're more accustomed to the quarter system, you know you have the hang of it. I've I've seen some students even take 17 units, 18 units per quarter, which is insane. But you know, the cost does not change.
That's why it's sometimes it's better for you to do 15 units, but.
I'll try to do that on your first first.
OK, just do the minimum for first quarter. Just allow yourself that time to to adjust to get to you know to get used to the pace and then once you're done with that, going into the winter.
You know, increase, increase it, do do 15 if you can manage it right so, but don't feel like when you're the first quarter you're here, you have to catch up like everybody's are doing the same thing. It's you don't have to. OK, the point is you need to adjust so that you can do well. The point is, you need to do well. You don't want to poorly, and they get into academic probation, right? That's not the goal.
But I think we can go ahead an an end. The meeting Pam maybe like at 6:30, so maybe for next three minutes we can try to answer as many as we can. But if we don't then again you guys please go ahead and reach out to your top coordinators so that we can continue this conversation because you know we want to make sure that we address all the questions that you might have.
But let me see real quick.

Isn't 15 units the minimum for full time enrollment?
15 units not a minimum. Full time enrollment. 12 units is the minimum.
The cost does not include the summer session. No cost, only include the fall, winter and so during the regular academic year. The summer though if you are planning to take classes over the summer once you are here, the financial aid do have like certain.
Grant or certain scholarship or certain. You know things that can help you pay for that as well.
You just have to talk to the Financial Aid Office.
Alright, one minute left.
Now I have to get going soon too.
But maybe, maybe we'll use that last one minute to load it out. Pam, let's go ahead and close it out.
Sounds good. Well contact your top advisor if you have any additional questions or so a lot of appointments that are open out there.
You know we have a few more appointment dates for some of the schools, but you know if if your advisor if your top advisor doesn't have any more appointments, you can always email them or contact us.
Have a good evening y'all. Congratulations again.
