Hawaii, I wonder if can you hear me Sam?
Yeah, can you hear me out right?
OK, which one is hopefully our audience can hear as to talk word in the very beginning. I should've queued up some music, but I forgot to do so.
Looks like our our participants are starting to join us now.
Let's do a quick test run. He this web and R the last transfer web and R for the season is moderated. In other words, the chat is moderated so that if you ask the question, somebody will prove it and then make sure that it gets answered so you're not actually going to see your questions until somebody.
It's the word approve on that chat. Now that doesn't mean we don't value your question. We do we value all your questions and we're going to do everything we can to get as many of them as possible answered. Here's the wrestling back here I I'm at home, probably just like you're at home with an active family. And in fact I might even have to hop up and open the door or something for people. So I do apologize. My name is Nicole Leonard. I work as the director of recruitment at UC Davis undergraduate admissions.
And today have with me. Stanley Sam, would you like to introduce yourself?
Sure, hi, my name is Sam Lee. I am an assistant director at the international admissions team here at UC Davis. I was also fellow transfer students at UC Davis Ann. I transferred from Deanza College.

Perfect thank you you guys, that's fantastic. So what I was hoping to do is you know we call this and ask me anything right? So instead of having you know San read a bunch of questions and just try to get through all of that or having everything just there. A chat box. I thought it might be kind of fun for me to kind of do and ask me anything directly with fan as if it's an interview.
So let's let's go San Thomas about the process that you went through in transferring to you. See gives. I mean first of all, how did you decide that you see Davis was the right fit for you?

Hello
While when I was at Deanza College, anyone went to. The answer goes to the answer here. Say hi please. So if so, when I was at the end. So I go to every single transfer day. Just as so many of you did trying to figure out where I should go and all that. And initially I thought I wanted to go to South in California 'cause.

I was at the end so I thought I wanted something different and then I just keep going to all those transfer information sessions and all that. and I met this amazing amazing advisor from UC Davis Coleman. He actually retired the year I joined UC Davis, but it was he was really find. He showed me everything. I got a really bad grade in my math class first quarter at the end and he told me that it's OK, you know. So that's just kind of how I got to know Davis by never really think.
But I wanted to go to Davis until I actually visited the campus. It was so beautiful. It was just everyone so friendly and growing up in the city. I grew up in Hong Kong so I grew up in a place that people are. Everything is so dense together and people don't usually say hi to each other. So when I went, today was the first time I was like, well, this is everyone are really nice and friendly and I really wanted that, so that's kind of how I decided on Davis.
And the rest is history and I've been working at undergrad admissions for the last nine years and loved every single second of it.

I finished Aggie 101, am i going to contacted by an advisor or do I have to schedule one? because it wouldn't let me schedule .
Awesome, thank you. Now if this late in the game, right? It's June want June 1 hours are due by midnight tonight. Um, there's probably not a lot of students in this webinar that haven't made that decision quite yet, so I'm going to start going through their questions. A lot of them are going to be probably processed. Questions about what's next. OK, now there's a question here. I just went by. You guys are very active in here. OK, I'm going to prove this one.
There is a question about.
After you finish Aggie 101 uh what what? What's what's gonna happen next? Are you going to be contacted by advisor? Do you have to schedule? First looked back up and talk about Aggie 101 saying can you tell us what Aggie 101 is?
Safah Bhatti
06:05:43 PM
When do we get to schedule an appointment for seeing an advisor from the college of letters and sciences?
so Aggy Wanna One is something that would tell you everything about Davis. So if you look at orientation so as you want no one is part of orientation. So orientation. There's basically three parts. There is the egg 101 and then there would be required required on line advising which you will be meeting with advisor talking about classes and things like that. And then if we could open this fall. But there will be in person orientation, so there's three parts that's.
As you want, I want is part of the orientation. So if you have completed ID 101, great. If you haven't, that's what you need to do before you actually move on to the next station. Talked in advisor so you will be reached out by an advisor or from your college. Should talk about what the next steps and classes and things like that.

@Safah, that would depend on your completion of Aggie101. you will be contacted through your UC Davis's email. So check it regularly
And I think it's really important here to just point out that you will be contacted through your UC Davis email most likely, so you're going to want to check that regularly. I know emails or totally a bummer, but that's where all of your communications are going to be coming from us. An undergraduate admissions or from your advisor at the college, so.

Hello, Do we need to sign up for summer classes in order to be a part of Transfer Edge?
Your emails or something you're going to want to keep up on, and then of course, check your spam, check your junk Mail just in case it fell in there. Uh, with question here about transfer edge the the bottom line question is, do you have to sign up for classes in order to be part of transfer edge? What is transfer edge?
So transfer edges the transitional program that helps you to transition into a four year University. So what it does is actually you can take classes through there and pretty much it will tell you everything about it. It's like an extension of orientation, so it's a longer version of what orientation is like. It tells you everything about UC Davis.
You will be translating from some masterful am Semester School two quarter school at UC Davis, so we teach you everything about that, so it's not mandatory that you sign up for a transfer. Edge is completely your choice. If you're like, well, I really wanted to do something this summer and all that, and that is an option for you, so it's completely open and you don't have to sign up for classes before you can actually do transfer edge. You can do it, you know if you want to.

How long might it take to hear back if our deferral was approved or not?
Galilea Jauregui
06:07:46 PM
when is orientation available?
Great, let's see. Here's another question about oh deferral. Now there's lots of questions probably related to Cove it out there and I just didn't get part yet. But you know, maybe if a student decides that they don't want to start with us right away in the fall, what is the process to defer enrollment?
When do you think students can hear back?
so when you are when you say yes after you said yes to UC Davis on your mind emissions portal, it tells you everything you need to do. There's like a checklist and everything and on the right hand side of the panel that would be a spot for you to click on. It says deferral differ enrollment or along the line, something I don't remember the exact word, but once you click on it you'll be able to submit a form to tell us that how long you would like to defer, and then once you submit it will process it as soon as we can.
And say if you want to defer, say one year, and then in the middle of it if you want to change your mind and such, you can definitely do that. So just make sure in terms of the year when you defer or the time that you defer. Don't take any classes from, I mean yeah. So just make sure that you are on track and you're keeping us informed when you want to come. If you have change of plans and things like that.
OK, so let's see here. Oh, here's a question about essay Tees.
Yakov Perlov
06:08:53 PM
do I have to send my SAT scores if I'm accepted as a transfer student?
Jackie Nguyen
06:09:01 PM
@Galilea, orientation starts as early as June 1, with Aggie 101. Then, aggie advising. Once you're done with that then you do Aggie Orientation, which is a week before school begins. Fall 2020 begins on Wednesday Sept 30. You can check out orientation's website. https://orientation.ucdavis.edu/
Maybe I I can. I can take a stab at this one too. So we've got a question. do I have to send my SAT scores if I am accepted as a transfer student? Here's the thing. As a transfer student, if you're coming in as a junior level student, as in you've got two years worth of transfer credit now we don't need your essay Tees. You were admitted as a junior level student. Now there is a small group of students who are admitted with less units. There are known as like a sophomore transfer, right?
And so we needed you to be high school eligible as well as strong as a transfer student. So the best way to really understand what is required of you to submit is well, then what is it? What's the best thing that they should always be looking at to make sure they know?
Yeah, go to my emission account and there is a list of things that you need to do is a self checklist so everything you do once you completed it, you can check the box, check off the box yourself an pretty much if you follow that list you'll be OK an like what meats was saying. Check your email, read them. I know there's a lot of us trying to talk to you from UC Davis, but every single email we sent to you with important information about different things. So make sure you check your my emissions. Check your email.

I cannot find my college on Parchment.com to send my transcript. I have requested a hard-copy of my transcript but I don't know if it will make it on time to the deadline for transcripts. Will I get in trouble for my transcript not making it on time?
Here is another kind of operational one, but this is probably on many people's minds. I cannot find my college on parchment to send my transcript. I've requested a hard copy of my transcript and I don't know if it'll make it on time for the deadline.
Will I get in trouble for the transcript not making it on time?

06:10:44 PM
do transfers have to do the writing placement?
So pretty much this year would covet. We understand that a lot of operations everything I'm going to be delate and we are trying to be as flexible as we can. If you are have requested it's on schedule, great. If it's not, you can reach out to us from your my emissions account. Send us a message, tell us that it will be delayed and will will be flexible with it, so don't worry too much. The biggest thing with anything that if you need an extension when you transcribe or anything you needed is communication. So as long as you talk to us.
Jackie Nguyen
06:11:04 PM
@Briana, no you don't. not for transfer students
Galilea Jauregui
06:11:19 PM
where can I find Aggie 101 ? do transfer students have to do Aggie 101
Because we're all human, we are people, right? So thanks, happen and with this whole pandemic situation we understand it. So make sure that you're talking to us about it. We need an extension for whatever reason, your class completion. There's problems and things like that. Just make sure you updating us. That will be the biggest thing.
We still seem to have a few questions about orientation, and an organization is quite different this year. Not that you've been admitted many, many times or anything, but just it is different. So let's, let's reiterate that now you know, one is not a link that you can find on the orientation page. Are you? 101 is on the my admissions page and that's really important to know.
So you will go to Aggie 101 on the my admission site, go through the whole module process and that after your done with that is when the advising kicks in. Now depending on your college the timing of your advising is going to be different so I think there was another question in the Q about, you know I haven't heard. I haven't been able to make an appointment. Many tenants will finish Aggie 101 and go immediately to their college and try to get an appointment for advising.
And it's fantastic that you're so eager to meet, but here's the thing right now. Or academic advisors are really busy trying to help our current students move along. Graduate, you know, get a minor certified, etc. So they're real busy with their current students, and as soon as they are ready for you to set up your appointments for advising there gonna send you that email. Now remember that email is your UC Davis email. There's another question in here about How do I get to UC Davis email?
Safah Bhatti
06:12:44 PM

06:12:50 PM
how do we set up our UC Davis email?
I'm so once you set up with my UC Davis, so one you said yes in my emissions. Once you set up your my UC Davis on your my UC Davis portal you will be able to access to your using David's email account.
Hanna Francis
06:13:13 PM
I understand that we need to go through the orientation steps first, but approximately when can we expect to register for classes?
So make sure you remember all your password and just check them regularly, because there's information there to talk about. You know who sent the email about who will send you email to schedule, and then when is your past time and such will become indicating with you as well. So make sure you check that.
So Hannah, I just approved your question also this this ties into the idea of, you know, when can you expect to register. It is going to be dependent of course on 1st advising and then your pastime promise you're going to get a real good shot at those classes as a transfer student you get priority over the first year students.
In registering for classes and so, uh, as soon as your past time comes and you're done with your input, your imperson virtual advising, you'll be set to apply. Register for those classes. You'll have two opportunities with dedicated pastimes, so you're going to have the opportunity to get into your into your classes. And Speaking of classes, did you? What was your experience in getting into classes like? Did you ever find that you weren't able to get into classes? What's a weightless like?
I so I most of my classes were OK like I didn't have any problem except for my writing class. I was on the wait list and I eventually got onto the got into the class because writing classes relatively smaller, they're usually like 20 people or so, so those get filled up really quickly. And for Upper Division I needed this one writing class and I just really wanted the journalism class, which is popular. I just like you know, kind of wait out an usually I think as a junior or when you move on to be a senior.
I what I usually do is I come up with all the plans and you can work with the schedule builder and things like that with different plans and such. I was able to schedule all my classes, usually Monday through Thursday. Now that's how I prefer it in and I usually like my classes in the morning and work my part time job in the afternoon. So that's just kind of how I liked it and I haven't had problem. Major problem with it, but I would definitely encourage you to explore like what your options are and make sure that you on track with the classes that you need to take in order to graduate. Because some of the classes.
Do only offer once or twice a year, so if you missed it.
That's not great. Make sure that if you if you look at your graduation requirements, talk to your major advisors and such, and I know some of you may have questions about possibly changing major as a junior and such to the key is to talk to your advisor. So which are a major that you interested in within or outside your college. The biggest thing is you can't change it. Now you can change your major. Now you'll have to come into Davis after you finish at least the first quarter an when you complete the requirement of certain major you might.
Or might not be too. You might not be able to change your major because as a transfer student we on a tighter schedule, right? So make sure you talk to your advisor and I'm sure you're successfully transferring to UC Davis, so I'm sure that you know. Make sure talk to advisors in touch and get approval for things. But definitely it's I wasn't. I didn't think it was a big issue, but I definitely would encourage you to be flexible on scheduling classes an just plan ahead. I think that's the key.
I can't hear you. Can you hear me?
Kimmy Grulla

How much is the cancelation fee for housing?
Aquarid planning ahead can be a little bit tricky right now with some kind of the uncertainty of COVID-19 and counting things like that. There are some questions about what's going to happen. If you know someone has to cancel their housing contract.
Flexible as you see, Dave is going to be about housing registration.

@Hanna- https://orientation.ucdavis.edu/dates-and-deadlines
so many of you know that we are have gone on line for our spring quarter, an hour, summer, quarter. So what had happened was at Marchwood decided the finals week is going to be on line and then spring and summer is going to be on line so we have branch of 1st year students who are on our campus right now. Well back then back in March and April had decided they would want to go home and take the online classes and so housing was giving them enough time to actually withdraw.
Their housing application and on all the students who decided within that line got their refund. With that said, I think with with covert well if it's due to covet or whatever reason that is reasonable. I think you could work with housing and see what their policies is like, but I think it makes goes right. It's definitely hard to plan ahead with everything going on right now as an attempt. We have a lot of conversations are. Leadership is working really hard to see if there's the possibility of.
Reopening our campus and such, or if it's going to be a hyper version of some online classes. In some, you know in person class we don't have an answer yet and I believe our campus is making a decision. Hopefully later on this month and will keep you all informed that I'm sure you'll have been getting emails from our chancellor about different options and things like that so we don't really know. But even with the housing contract, I think a lot of times it depends on the situation.
I have had so when I I stayed so as a transfer student actually stayed in the residence Hall. The first the first year I made that decision because I feel like when I was a DSI when I was you know, in in my Community College I kind of miss out the opportunity to live on campus. So when I transferred in I decided to actually live on campus. So back in the days it wasn't a guarantee housing option. So you guys are lucky we have. We're trying our best to guarantee everyone for spot, but definitely take advantage of it if you can.
Fantastic, so another question. We're getting a lot.
Is transcripts and as transfer students right? We asked for students to send in their high school transcripts, but.
Mitra Arani
06:19:05 PM
I applied for summer classes, how/when will my grants be applied? And also when will my transfer classes be applied to my records?
Thomas bird the details about that. What happens if it can't get their high school transcripts? Or maybe they're like I didn't even go to high school in this country? Do you really need it?
Well, so whatever is listed under my emissions as part of your mission contract, you are supposed to send that to us. But for whatever reason, if you cannot get access to it, or if the entire country is, schools are closed and such.
Thai Vue

Any Financial Aid related questions please visit the Financial Aid contact page: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/contact and click on the "Contact an Expect Portal" to submit your questions.
That's absolutely right. I mean, I think the bottom line is we won't be counseling anybody's admission based on a missed deadline, right?
You know, for if it's a reasonable reason, we might be able to work with it. So again, contact us through my emissions. Let us know your challenge and will work with each of you to figure out all your you know. But if it's not listed on your emissions contract, then I would say you don't have to worry about it. And of course you know once you look at the listing things again. If you have any challenge, even delay transcript within your Community College right now, let us know 'cause we were more than willing to work with each of you too.
As long as we know that you're moving on it one way or the other, it's cool. Uhm, interesting for you guys to know you can actually use your high school transcript to meet some graduation requirements at UC Davis. For example, a graduation requirement for us is American history. An institutions like a political science at USC civics or American history class. If you've done those classes in high school, then you've met that requirement for graduation.
From UC Davis. So that's one thing we're looking for. Another thing we're looking for is, hey, did this student take other languages? In which case, if they come here to UC Davis, we want them to take languages other than the three or four years of Spanish or French or German that you already took in high school. So there's other reasons why we ask for the high school transcript. But I promise we will not be canceling your your admission at all over a high school transcript. And to be honest, even if you're late with your transcripts from college.
We're going to be pretty understanding, but we're asking you to meet us halfway. Not halfway. Point is my admissions right, so I think you're gonna be late if you think somethings up. If you think you might not pass, it's always good for us to hear from you rather than to get something from the college and be like wait, What is this right? We can hear from you first and we try to make that is as simple, straightforward as possible.
Here's another question. We're getting a few questions about writing placement exams now. Most of our students coming in as as junior level transfer students will have had.
2 English composition courses, right that was required? Um, some of you may need to take an upper division course in writing. Depending on your major. Here at UC Davis. But for the bulk of you, you're going to have that set your. Your English composition is done. Any situation where students might have to take a placement exam, Sam.
I, I think if they are, let's see I want to say it depends on.
Rhianna Gonsalves
06:22:24 PM
Is there an orientation registration deadline? It was briefly mentioned on a UCD Facebook live webinar last week. They stated it is June 4th.
I'm let's see I am not sure, actually, uhm.
You got it. You got it right.
I, I think Jack IMO or tie if you know the answer because I remember I think I remember what I remembered. I think for some of those transfer student, if you need a place in my exam, it depends on if you're trying to seek like a second major for language and things like that. OK, OK, I'm like that's OK.
Jackie Nguyen
06:23:05 PM
@Rhianna, there is no orientation registration. Orientation is mandatory. June 4 is deadline for housing application i believe. Use this timeline to help you stay organized. https://www.ucdavis.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transfer-timeline/
You know you got it. I mean, typically your set and ready to go in the major of your choice, but they decide you want to change your major. Let's say you want to take a class that requires the chemistry, but you've never taken chemistry. You need to show them that, hey, I still retained everything that I took in high school. That those are some examples, but here there was a question about changing majors. Is it possible for transfer students to change majors?
Galilea Jauregui
06:23:11 PM
As a transfer student, are we unable to change our majors at all?
Definitely, so it depends on the major, of course. Say if you are a communication major and you out of nowhere want to change it to computer science and engineering, that might be a challenge, right? That those are extreme case that I'm giving, but if you are trying to change major within your college, that might be more doable because you might be missing a couple classes off the required prerequisites in order to be declared in another major. So I have met plenty of Transportation that came in as a major and then or seeking for an additional major.
Within the college after they transfer in, I didn't have a second major, but I did have a minor so I when I came in I also focusing transferring so I didn't really think until I got to you to Davison. There's so many so many different choices that you can. Minor Dan I minored. I majored in communication and I minored in leadership, which was in a different college and it was perfectly fine. I was totally on track. I could have done another minor if I wish, but I thought, you know, that was that was I was.
Spending time to do other things.
You know I should have been much clear about Aggie 101. The link may be there but for for UM transfer students, they're planning to turn that on like as soon as you Sir, and they think that if it's not quite yet like today it's gonna be tomorrow. I I'm running like the whole email system right now so I've got an email going out to all the students about orientation and an update later on. I think next week so you should be able to get in there as soon as you Sir.
If you're looking at it now and the URL is broke, give it. Give it a day, it should be fine.
Briana Elise Bayan
06:25:00 PM
Thank you for answering my earlier question! Another question, so Aggie 101 is open? If so, when I go to Aggie 101 it states url unavailable
And don't worry, you have more than enough time to complete ID 101. Uhm, yeah, it's quite straightforward and direct. Just watch the videos. There's like quiz here and there, but it's kind of fun.

06:25:17 PM
I thought i submitted my high school and vocational school transcripts when I applied for my tag. Do i need to send those again when i send in my current college transcript?
OK, awesome, let's see. Here's a question I thought I submitted my high school and vocational school transcripts when I applied for my tag. do I need to send those again?
Here's the thing, right when you submit things with your tag, remember everything is self reported. We don't actually accept all that paper that you might send to us, because whether it's your tag or straight up application, we're not looking at that paper. We're looking at everything that was self reported, so whatever it may be that you reported on your tag, which became your application, we still need to see that documentation, but I'm going to reiterate. Again, we are super flexible.

@ Kimmy- If you are not planning to live in our transfer apartments, you do not have to submit a housing contract.
Fantastic, here's a question about how quickly once we get a transcript, right? Whether it's high school or Community College or University, wherever it might be, you send it in. You know you're looking at the tracking number, and it says we've got it. How long does it take for us to update my admission so that the students can relax and say, OK, it's good?
Yanbin Zuo
06:27:28 PM
can we add upper-division classes in this summer session in UCD?
It depends. It depends because it depends. Well, The thing is, we're all working from home right now and we are all very limited and accessing. You know the campus and documents and such, and we're doing our best we can to upload everything and process and verify an all those things. So give us a little time will take us a little time to actually get through all of those because we do have a huge volume on incoming class and that's.
Every year so we don't have to worry about like you know, you know how it would get to us and all that. And once you request your school to send it, just give it some time. Will working on it.
Awesome, awesome. Here's a good question. I have actually had this question on occasion, uhm.

06:28:17 PM
I also still need to get my immunizations. I realize that I need to do that before I register for classes, and I really don't want to be set back by that. Is there a certain time where I should plan on having those done by?
There's a student who needs to get their immunisations. They're not quite caught up on all of their shots. They realize that they need to do before coming to class, but is there anything that is that something that's going to hold them back from registering for classes?
Mitra Arani
06:28:47 PM
when do I know if my waiver for SHIP has been accepted or denied?
So, So what would happen is that if you have any challenge or and accessing your immunization and updating all your shots and things like that will give you a little more time. But if you're concerned you can contact the health service Dory messaging if you just Google UC Davis iMessage healthy messaging, you'll be able to find and you have to log into your account and then talk to the health professional. An insurance professional about it, but we won't be putting a hold on you just yet.
Jackie Nguyen
06:29:06 PM
Here is the link that San is talking about SHIP https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/resources/new-students
But once you come in to use Davis will give you a quarter to kind of complete everything and then by the time you have to register for your winter quarter classes. If you still don't have that and there's no good reason for it, you just not doing it, then that's not good. That will put a hold on. You cannot register for classes for next quarter, but for now you will be OK.
Nancy Alderete
06:29:20 PM
@Yanbin- You can check out https://summer-sessions.ucdavis.edu/ for schedules and options. Feel free to check them out and register for what you are interested in.
In that kind of answers, the same. Yeah, there's other questions, kind of along the same lines, let's see.

I wanted to know about the housing fee? If we sign up for housing, but we end up continuing online. Is the fee refundable?
Let's see, oh someone think no, no questions are are considered inappropriate quite yet. Let me see if I can. I call the admissions office and was transferred to two different people. Both went to voicemail.
So your question was I'm trying to oh is it the physics major changing engineering right?
Medi Pezzini
06:29:46 PM
I'm a physics major, but I'd like to have the opportunity to switch to engineering. I know that these are closely related in many areas, but they are in different colleges. Would this be a possibility?
Oh yes, that's it. Yeah, yeah.
OK OK so sorry if I wasn't cleared about changing majors. So basically what happened with changing major is that you would have to talk to the major viruses that use watching in say you originally physics and you wanted a certain type of engineering. Go to College of Engineering, talk to the major advisor or talk today college adviser and look at their prerequisites. So if you're able to take their prerequisites classes, if you would only missing a few classes and you got a certain grade, you'll be able to switch.
Nancy Alderete
06:30:41 PM
@Benafshah- yes the housing office has said they will issue refunds if students are unable to live in the transfer apartments.
If so, if it depends on the timeline because engineering do required many sequence classes, right? So for Matthew have to do 16A16B and 16C and all those things so it really it's it's a very complicated process in terms of all the lists and all that, but it's a checklist so make sure that you're talking to the right advisor. I am not, I cannot. We cannot answer you right now at this point if you can change or not because we don't have you know everything in front of us and we're not.
Makena Weston
06:30:45 PM
I got an email talking about first-year UC Davis students taking a writing placement rather than AWPE. However, being a transfer into Davis, do I need to take this or is this just for first-years who are not transferring from a community college?
Major advisor, so you would definitely have to talk to certain college and the college and the major advisor to make sure that you on track and you can definitely compare it under catalog as well.
And see if which classes you're missing in which class is your plan in. Check to fulfill that requirement.
That's right, and Ann Marie Just. Yeah it. It's it's not so much in sometime soon it will say is it easy.
Nancy Alderete
06:31:13 PM
Hi Makena- you are correct the AWPE is only for incoming freshmen. :)
Gabriella Solakian
06:31:15 PM
i am having trouble accessing aggie 101, it keeps showing up as invalid login attempt, I've tried multiple times throughout the day and it's still not working
No, not usually, because it really does depend on the student, right? Like if you're asked me, is it easy to do anything to do with chemistry? Then? Absolutely not, but the idea is it straightforward, right? So as a physics major, changing into let's say for example mechanical engineering maybe a little bit more straightforward than changing into maybe computer science and engineering. So depending on the major you want to change into, and maybe a little more straightforward, because there's more of that one on one, you've already done a lot of the classes that are required by.

@Gabriella, please try again tomorrow and it should work!
Sabrina Edward
06:32:03 PM
I can't figure out how to upload a picture for my new ID card! Can you help me figure it out?
That major, and it's very black-and-white. They'll tell you you've done this, but you're still missing these. Come back to us when you've done these things and then will consider you for changing a major. Remember whether your transfer first year student doesn't matter, you cannot change your major until at least your first term at you. See after your first term at UC Davis so you know. Remember that when you're talking to your advisor, if you already know when your head you're planning to change your major steel freight it, tell your advisor, hey, I'm already thinking about it. Can you advise me tord changing my major so that you don't miss out on a?
Yeah, that time during the first time.
And on on the UC Davis major page, if we click on each major on the bottom of that major, you'll be able to see the contact information of that major advisor. So it's right there you can just browse through an play around with the major website and they will tell you like what classes you know is needed and such, and you can kind of figure it out yourself. But I would say the best is really to talk to an advisor to figure out what you're really missing, and sometimes you might be able to fulfill requirements by other classes too in the same category and such.
So make sure you talk to advisor and to get that figure it out.
Aida Pourya
06:33:01 PM
what if I have an immunization hold on my registration for classes and I currently have challenges to access my immunization? How can I register for my classes this way?
Fantastic, let's see. Now we've got another follow-up question about immunizations. Now, immunization holds will exist. They will put a hold on your on your registration, but it's a future hold so you're going to pay attention to the date of that whole. I think in the past it was something like like the end of October or 1st of November that you needed to have all of your immunizations updated with us etc. So don't worry, it's not going to impact your registration for the fall term.
Although it may have an impact on your registration for the winter term, so as soon as possible, you're going to want to get your shots updated.
San Lee

I was on the report page earlier, but I do not see the box for commenting those changes. All I saw is reporting the change in my college's grades and classes. How should I report those changes?
OK, so there was a question about you know how to report changes on the my admissions site.
Do you want to talk a little bit more about that work, and they find that link to report changes to their there?
Ravneet Rajasansi
06:34:05 PM
As a transfer student I do not have any way to contact my high school right now so what do I do about sending in my high school transcript?
Admission, you know, to my admissions, and if they have a kovid related situation, where where do they need to go exactly?
So go lock onto your manned missions account and then on the right hand side there is like a panel or things that you can choose from and one of them would be update or change your grades and such. If you have a great update for us or you can click on, there's a paragraph saying due to call, but you know if you need an extension transcript and things like that. Click on that. Once there is there will be a space for you to update all your grades. If you needed to. If you just hit next, you'll be able to find a box that gives you space to explain your situation and tell us what you need.
Melanie David
06:34:50 PM
@Ravneet, not a problem. You can let us know through MyAdmissions and most importantly, we need your college transcript.
Yeah, so this is a good question San. It's in my vehicle tricky.
Here's a question that schools offer the option of submitting official transcripts as hard copies. Should we do that instead of submitting them electronically? I've gotten mixed messages about if UC Davis has set up according is set up to accept electronic transcripts just yet.
Rhianna Gonsalves

Are there more students deferring this term due to COVID?
So we're working on it. However, we would still like to see the paper transcript. It's possible, so I would say if you require, I'm sorry if you submit a request to your college or high school to send us transcript, give them some time because everyone is you know if you don't see it in a week, don't panic because it takes them sometimes to process it and then with mailing and everything. Everything is delay. So give them a little more time. Give us a little more time. So the answer is.
We do need your paper transcript, but if you say for whatever reason, you cannot send your paper transcript right now, you can send us an E document.
But at the end we still need your paper transfer.
Melanie David
06:36:06 PM
@Kimmy, as of right now, we have had to same amount of students requesting deferred enrollment.

if I have a student loan from outside of the college, what would be the consequences of becoming a part-time student for a quarter?
So Andy would like to know, would you recommend that they apply for housing given the uncertainty regarding whether or not they all have that in person classes in the fall?
Andy Li
06:36:23 PM
Do you recommend that we apply for housing given the uncertainty regarding whether or not we will be having in person classes in the fall?
I would say it really personal choice given that if you were to live in the housing I think housing is working really hard to make sure that safety safety is our priority on our campus and bread not as physical safety or emotionally that you feel safe on our campus. That is something that is very important to us and then we take it very seriously with that said.
Generally speaking, our residence Hall are either you know that call style, so there would be like a long haul with like plenty of rooms and then at the end of both hallways will be about sharing bathroom.
And such, and then we also have these sweet style which you will still be sharing but with less people. An I think our housing is working really hard to figure out a plan. If we were to have in person or reopen in the fall how that would look like. We don't know how that would look like because generally speaking we would have like double rooms or triple rooms before I want to say for transfer students because a lot of the residence setup would be apartment style as well. So you'll be sharing with less people.
Nancy Alderete
06:37:56 PM
@Yakov..that is a sticky situation. If you are relying on Fin Aid., changing your status from full-time to part-time will also change yourr Financial Aid package. Please contact the Financial Aid office to provide more insight to your specific situation.
If you're more comfortable with that, I would say we, until our official plans comes out. We don't really know what that's going to look like, and once that come out you can look at what options you have and then decide if you want to commit to a housing contract and for whatever reason, if you need to cancel it. If it's within the deadline, I'm within a reasonable reason. I'm sure our housing office will be working with you closely towards that.
That's right now, kind of related. You know. Again with referral, there's a question. Can I submit my deferral application to get approved before paying the $70.00 to officially defer? Or does the decision needs to be made before the application approval?

applied for summer classes, how/when will my grants be applied?
And also when will my transfer classes be applied to my records?
Here's the thing. You can submit your application to defer your enrollment. What's going to keep it, what? What we still want from you is all of your official documents. We still want you to go through the process of getting your high school and, well, you know you. You heard what I said about high school? We're not gonna sweat you for it, but we do want to see your University or Community College transcripts. So that is still going to be due by the deadlines. But if you want to defer, you don't have to immediately pay that $70.00. In fact, if we don't.
Melanie David
06:38:53 PM
@Mitra: @Mitra, please contact Financial Aid regarding summer grants: https://my.ucdavis.edu/ask_us/ You can check your MyAdmissions to see your transfer credits.
Yeah, pay us right away. Like for example, if you don't have access to a check if you don't have access to that sort of thing, we are not able to take credit card payment for that right now. So what ends up happening is they're going to just put it on to your student account, because even as as a deferred student, you're still a UC Davis student, and so you'll be billed through the cashier's office and then you will be able to use a credit card or a check or whatever is most convenient to you, but that will happen later and we won't be waiting for that payment to decide to approve your.
Nancy Alderete
06:39:38 PM
Hi Jaskam- Aggie 101 opened today for transfer students, so try again tomorrow. If you are still having issues, please let us know. https://orientation.ucdavis.edu/dates-and-deadlines
Now remember deferral means pause pause. I want to keep my seat. I want my seat. I want my major. I just don't want to be there right now because of Cove it because I want to work because I'm doing an internship. Whatever those reasons, maybe, but it cannot be a pause. I want to go to this other school for a little bit and then I'm going to come back here and do some more school with UC Davis, right? The moment you go to another University, that's the moment where your admission.
Korrie Tugal
06:39:55 PM
I am transferring with 140 units to pursue my bachelor, will this high amount of units negatively impact signing up for classes for fall quarter?
Is rescinded because you're no longer the same transfer student that you were when we admitted you, so it's very important to understand that deferral is for a very specific purpose. But going to another school is not one of those purposes.
Kimmy Grulla
06:40:03 PM
Can I submit my deferral application to get approved before paying the $70 to "officially defer" or does the decision need to be made before the application approval?
I think some of the questions about the address that your mailing, your transcript two, so once you log into your my emissions and then you look at the required documents or ambition contract, you will be able to see what documents is required and then the address and detailed as to who are you sending it to. Addressing to undergraduate missions and such. There will be there is the address on your mind missions account.
So lots of questions about paper. Uhm, I'm going to make this very specific question into a more general question.
Ravneet Rajasansi
06:40:50 PM
I am looking at classes on schedule builder and a lot of them seem to be filled up. Will more classes open up when our pass time comes up (transfer student)
The specific question is, I'm looking at classes on schedule builder in a lot of them seem to be filled up. Will more classes open when our past time comes up as a transfer student?
Um, so I'm can you combine your answer about about that? How classes open up or whatever, and also you know how to best gauge you know how to get into a class that might be very popular, or you know.
Fills up a little bit quicker.
Mitra Arani
06:41:10 PM
@MelanieDavid, I saw that, but how do I know which classes apply to my major. So I don't have to retake a class I already completed
Melanie David
06:41:15 PM
@Mitra, you
So I would say when you were playing with schedule builder and just be flexible and come up with a few plans. Because once it's George pastime, it's kind of like a race that how fast you punch into the code to register for your classes. So I would say you know have a few plans, have all the codes ready once it's time then you can just punch them in as two for classes to be opened. I want to say some of the classes if it's for like everyone I want to say they are research, some of them are reserved for students for past. One time is reserved.

where can I find this webinar .if I want to rehear it again. or any other webinars
For students who are already in the major. So as a transfer students for those classes that is within your major, you get priority registration for those and then in terms of if there are some spots reserving. I remember the answer was yes, that there are some space but not a lot to be said for certain classes that are popular amount of students and such depends on your past time and such, so I wouldn't worry too much about it, because as a junior standing you know students have 30 year students you will get.
You already have the priority registration class time for compared to a lot of our first year second year students. So I will say just play around with this schedule builder and then you'll be able to register for classes accordingly.
Melanie David

Perfect, OK, we've got a few more minutes. Let's see my colleges admissions so that they will not be sending my transcript with my. I guess the certificate until the campus reopens.

Will not having my IGETC cause any problems for me or is it okay to send my IGETC certificate later throughout the school year?
Will not having my get see cause any problems for me or is it OK to send my Jesse certificate later throughout the school year?

can i defer for one quarter multiple times?
One last question about deferred enrollment. Can I defer for one quarter or multiple times? So let's let's break that down. Can a student defer until winter and then say no no? I'm going to defer again. Or can they say no? I'm going to defer for a full year and then back it up and say, actually can I come now that it's cool in the winter?
I would do the letter right.
The the later one right? You say you can come earlier or I think both.
You can do it. Yeah, you can actually do either.

University of California
One Shields Avenue
Davis, CA 95616-8507. use this timeline to guide you. https://www.ucdavis.edu/admissions/transfer/admitted/
Because that would be a different because usually generally speaking housing contract it's a full year either on campus or off campus. Generally speaking this year, I think people might be a little more flexible, but that's something to take into consideration as well.
Melanie David
06:45:18 PM
@Aida, not a problem, like we said before, not submitting your high school transcript is not going to affect your admission. The most important will be your college transcripts.
Yeah, and remember if you defer enrollment, you don't really need to worry about advising you don't really need to worry about orientation and things like that, but you're gonna want to think about those things right at the point when you do enter. So let's say for example you defer through winter or spring or maybe even next full. You're going to want to go through the orientation and and the advising and all the same stuff that you would go through now.
Yeah, now finally, I know that we're out of time, but I do want to make sure everyone knows that all of our webinars that have been going on since I think mid April, they're overcrowded and they are posted on the same site that you used to register for this webinar.
