That wasn't already covered in the presentation. Sometimes you won't see your question appear in the chat box, and that's OK. It might just mean that there's a similar.

Yay, OK, so this is an aerial shot of UC Davis. What you're looking at on this slide right now.
It's a really big campus. UC Davis is the biggest of all the euses. You are never going to see the end of this campus fun fact about us that I think is pretty cool. We have our own airport and I'm pretty sure we're the only University in the United States that has its own airport and that can say that.
Let's keep going. Where are we? UC Davis is located in Northern California, and California is on the West coast of the United States. That's the best coast of the United States FYI, and we are centrally located close to a lot of big cities and every place that you would dream to go to wear nearest San Francisco about an hour and 15 minutes from San Francisco or close to Silicon Valley. That's where Google Genetec Oracle, HP Twitter Facebook, Instagram.
Everybody is there. All those companies that run our lives are there. Uhm, the Pacific Ocean is about an hour and a half away. Napa Valley Lake Tahoe, all those gorgeous places they get so much love on Instagram are literally in our backyard. And we've got two major airports nearby. We've got Sacramento International Airport and San Francisco International Airport.
Let's keep going. So this is Sacramento. Sacramento is my hometown and it's the closest big city to UC Davis. It's about 15 minutes drive from UC Davis, and that's where our governor works. It is the capital of the state of California, so a lot of our students who are interested in.
Political system legislation. Public policy. Lobbying law. A lot of them will do internships at the UC center at the capital and In addition to that, there is a lot of great shopping and restaurants. Alias concerts come to our Golden one center Maroon 5 Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift. We've got our own NBA team. The Sacramento Kings, so there's a lot to do there.
So this is kind of a map of the Davis community. The yellow is the campus of UC Davis. That's where all the cloud. While your classes would be, and then the blue is where downtown Davis is. So you see, Davis is the only college town in the whole UC system. That means everything is really student friendly and student focused. And it's a smaller size town then some other cities in the United States. So everything is really walkable.
Or bikeable up if you're looking at this slide right now, I can walk from the center of the yellow.
Uh, that yellow block? That's where they were. All the lecture holes are to downtown Davis in about 12 minutes.
And so that's really important, because where you decide to attend University geographically matters a lot and is going to make a big impact on just your ability to feel at home and feel that you can navigate the area comfortably.
So here's some pretty pictures of downtown Davis. Like I said, We are a true college town. Everything is student centered. All the businesses and shops are really catering to the students. A lot of them are operated by students. Uhm, this is going to be your home for the next four years of your life. So when you are selecting a University and were shopping for schools, you have to think beyond the fact that this is a place where I'm going to be taking classes and earning a degree.
You're going to live there for at least the next four years, so it has to be a place where you can feel comfortable, or you can feel like you can thrive and make a circle of friends and have things to do. And so in Davis there is a lot to do. We have over 200 shops and restaurants and one of the best farmers markets in the whole country.
So getting around is important when we're looking at places to live because you see Davis is in a college town. You never need a car, and that's kind of a big deal because it means that you can walk or ride your bike probably everywhere you need to get if you want to go a little bit further, you just want someone else to drive you around. We've got a student run bus system called Unitrans. You can even learn how to drive those buses if you're if you're.
Interested in that and we have an Amtrak train station right in downtown Davis that can take you to San Francisco Lake Tahoe, even as far as Chicago if you want.
And then we have bikes. Who knew that UC Davis was big on bikes?
I'm going to look at the chat. Who knew that?
We have a lot of bikes, kind of what one of the things we're famous for.
Jahanvi Narwal
04:10:38 AM
I did
Anyone want to type in the chat and let me know if you knew the?
Ririka Abe
04:10:39 AM
I did!
I did I did I can see you awesome yeah so Davis is the bicycle capital of the whole United States. Fun fact about us. I think that's pretty cool. We have more bikes than humans, so it's a really popular way for students to get around. If you feel like you're a little rusty and you haven't ridden a bike for a long time, that's OK. We can help you with that. We've got lessons and a lot of opportunities for you to practice before you actually have to hit the hit the ground running.
Alright, so safety is a big deal. I don't know if any of your parents are watching along with you in this webinar or not, but especially for your parents, especially for for. For them who are sending you so far away from home safety and security is going to be a big deal. It's always a concern, but again, the advantage of Davis being in a college town is that the whole community is focused on just making a safe and secure place for everyone.
And we take care of each other, so remember, the bigger the city you move to, the more big city issues you'll have to face. 'cause I want to chime in the chat and just talk about. What are some big city issues?
I know a lot of you live in some big cities.
Ririka Abe
04:12:06 AM
crime
What are things that people deal with living in big cities?
Ishaan Anand Shetty
04:12:10 AM
traffic
Crying, yeah, traffic, there you go.
Pranav Krishnan
04:12:15 AM
safety
Yeah, so you see Davis is not a big city where a smaller sized college town. Which means that things like traffic and pollution and crime aren't really a thing here. We don't deal too much with that. We're kind of lucky in that regard. An all of our residents holds the dorms where students would live in. They all require an ID card for entry. That campus is always really well lit. I never have to feel worried if I'm walking around campus even late at night by myself. If I'm working late.
All right, as a community we were a large University, so UC Davis has offices and centers on campus to address. Really every aspect of a students life. Some of them are shown on this map. You can see some of the different offices on campus. You will find community centers that handle things like academic advising and tutoring and social counseling an. So there's a lot of opportunities to learn about them. We're going to brush on them a little bit today, but also.
I want to make sure everyone's aware of a huge event that we have coming up next week. I'm super excited for it. Called Aggie. Experience live. It's going to be our campus virtual open house and you should have already received an email invitation that's going to be next week, so make sure you check your emails if you haven't already. I know that they're promoting it alot on social so that's going to be another opportunity for you to learn about some of these.
Community centers there. They're all going to be out bragging about themselves next. We can have lots to talk about.
Another way that you can feel connected on our community on our campus is through the international community is UC Davis is the 8th most ethnically diverse University in the United States. It's a really global campus, so we have every nationality, ethnic group, race and religion represented in our student body. This is a list of just some of them, but there's a lot more international communities that could then could fit on this slide. But you can take a look at them. Let me know if.
You identify with any of them.
And these are students who were standing right outside our brand new International Center. It's kind of a one stop shop hub for everything that are international students need. We've got the office that handles your I-20 so that you can get your visas to come study here. They live in this building.
Alright, an along with helping you to find your community so that you can feel like you're at home on our campus is a big priority for us to make sure that you stay healthy and feel good throughout the challenges that you're going to face as you adapt to your new college life so all students at UC Davis have access to our on campus, student health and Health Center and to counseling services by both peers and professional staff, you can take advantage of a teaching kitchen that we have that will give you cooking.
Classes if you're interested in learning how to cook.
And if you're tired, we've even got a map online that will tell you the best spots on campus to take quick naps between classes. I think that's kind of cool.
OK food, so this is a huge deal. Food is a big deal on our campus when you're as important as you see Davis is for agriculture in the world. You take food very seriously, so these are some pictures of our dining Commons. Each of the three housing complexes on campus has a really big attractive open layout. Dining Commons and students can eaten any one of them there like huge food chords that you would find it.
But they have different food stations with a menu that changes every day and everything is prepared from sustainable clean food sources. There's an all you can eat salad bar, pasta, pizza, desert, homemade cookies. They all cater to different cultural needs and tastes, and every dieteria need is satisfied. So whether you're vegetarian or vegan or gluten free or halal or kosher, you're going to find plenty of food for you.
In addition to the dining Commons, we've got other food options on our campus, including some really fun food trucks that are really popular with the students. And if I don't get off the slide, we are never going to finish 'cause I could talk about food for days. OK, so how are we going to work off all that food that we've just eaten? We have the activities and Recreation Center, we call it the Ark.
And it's one of the biggest recreation centers of any University in the United States. And there are also expanding it, like as if it's not already big enough. We've got our own rock climbing wall, an indoor track, basketball, volleyball, racquetball courts, badminton, weightlifting. We've got like exercise, classrooms, yoga, you could do so much in there. There is. It's a great place for you to, just like kind of decompress after your busy class schedule.
And then we have a games area where you can go bowling, play billiards, play video games.
And our new rec pool is awesome. It's a place where you can just kind of hang out and sunbathe splash around or play some pool volleyball.
And Sports is a big deal at UC Davis. We are a Division One school, so I'm not sure you're aware, but Division One is the best that you can be in college athletics in the United States, so we take it very seriously. The sports scene is intense where Division One and over 20 sports. We also have some intramural sports and some clubs for it so that anybody can join an continue playing their sport. If you're already an athlete in high school and you want to keep that going, you have plenty of opportunities at Davis to do that.
And we have the Arboretum. This is my favorite part of campus. It's a huge, lush forested area in the middle of the campus an it nestles a Lake. We have our own Lake on campus where you can find ducks and turtles and if you're lucky you can spot one of our otters. There's a five kilometer loop for walking that goes all the way around the Arboretum. If you want to run or ride your bike or just explore. It's just a really Zen peaceful.
Place for students like to hang out and relax. You can have a picnic there or study. Take a nap. It's absolutely my favorite part of this campus. I walk there every time I'm on campus. I have to walk through the Arboretum.
OK, we have over 100 majors at UC Davis and the cool thing about studying in the United States that I think a lot of other countries can't say is that there's so much flexibility and so much ability to customize your field of study. Students on our campus can double major. They can triple major. You can major in minor, and they don't even have to be things that are even related to each other. So you could major in engineering and minor in music.
Or managerial economics and Japanese whatever floats your boat and the other cool thing is that students are allowed to explore and change their major. So if you change your mind during your academic path and you decide I'm not really feeling what I'm doing right now and I want to completely switch gears, it's a really easy process to do that. In fact, the majority of our students will change their major at least once.
Regardless of what major you selected for yourself, it's going to be housed under the umbrella of one of our four colleges. We have the College of Engineering, College of Environmental Science, College of Biological Sciences in College of letters and science, and we do that to make sure everything is really organized and to make sure that you have a specialized advisor to help you with your major.
And if you're not sure which college you're currently in, and you if you go back to your my admissions website to your admission letter, your congratulations. You're in letter. You should be able to find it there.
A man, once you're on our campus, there's so much academic support you'll have access to people and resources to help you be successful in your classes. We have a tutoring center that can help you with things like writing or chemistry or math. Even study skills, even time management, even money management. So it's really important if we're going to ask you to take those hard college classes, we're going to do our best to make sure that you have all of the help and support that you need to do well in them.
So College isn't only about taking classes, it's also about developing your future career and developing yourself as a professional so the internship and Career Center is one of is a resource that we have on campus that you really shouldn't miss. You have to take advantage of this because this is what's going to give you the edge for your future career. They offer a free workshops and one on one advising for students, and they maintain a huge database for jobs.
They also arrange about 10,000 internships for students every year, every quarter. There's a huge recruitment fair where they invite big companies on campus to talk to our students and snatched them up for internships and jobs. Companies like Google and Oracle and HP. They all show up.
We want you to learn as much as you can about UC Davis and to be able to figure out if this is what you want to choose to be the home for you. For the next four years of your life. It's a big decision, and so we're trying to do our best in spite of everything that's going on in the world to make sure we stay connected with you so that you don't miss out on any of those key pieces of information to help you out in your decision, all you need to.
You're gonna everything that you need to know is going to be highlighted next week. In addition to this webinar, 'cause I'm just brushing the surface right now at our Aggie experience. Live that virtual open house. I was talking to you about you and your parents are going to have the chance to connect with our UC Davis faculty and staff and students in real time. So you really have to be there. Keep an eye out on your email and social For more information. We're all going to be on line for that. Me and Stan are going to be there. I'm so excited. San, are you excited?
San Lee
04:23:28 AM
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Yes, OK cool, I'm really excited. I can't wait to see what that's going to look like.
Alright, and my admissions if you decide after getting all this information, doing all your research that UC Davis is the place for you and we hope you will 'cause we want you here. The place to say yes to us is in your my admissions portal. There's a button there called the Sir the statement of intent to register. If you click that and you say yes, I want to become an Aggie.
That's where you will do it. The deadline to do that is May 1.
And as soon as students accept their seat, their admission on our campus and they say yes. Do you see Davis? Usually the very next question on your mind is where am I going to live? Your housing application is going to be available as soon as you say yes to UC Davis, and that's where you would indicate all of your preferences for how many roommates you want. What kind of complex you want to live in, or any other special needs that you might have. We really encourage you to live on campus.
Uh, if it all possible because it's really awesome for one and their beautiful and their super secure. They're very close to all of your classes were going to guarantee your housing on campus for the first two years, and the dorms also give you access to computer centers. An onsite tutoring an all sorts of social and recreational activities, and there's they have professional staff there 24/7 to help you if you ever need anything.
San Lee

More on Aggie Experience Live: https://www.ucdavis.edu/admissions/undergraduate/events/aggie-experience-freshman#hero
And then after you pick where you're going to live, the next question. Typically after that that students have is OK. Now I gotta take classes. How am I going to get my classes?
That's where orientation comes in. Orientation is mandatory. You have to attend after you submit your Sir, you're going to start your orientation journey with something that we're calling Aggie 101. And that's a bunch of on line modules that will give you all the information you need to navigate through the college system so that you can do it like a pro and you get set up with an appointment with an advisor for your major.
San Lee
04:26:02 AM
Orientation: https://orientation.ucdavis.edu/
And that advisor is going to help you with course planning. An prepare you for registering for all your full classes and you're going to get information about accessing Aggie advising right after you complete the Aggie one on 101.
In person, orientation is a little bit later that will be September 25 to 29, and there's even a program for your family members. So if your parents they kind of want to know what you're learning as well so they can nudge you throughout the year. Did you do this? Did you do this? 'cause they're really awesome at that. There is a program for your parents as well so that they don't miss out on anything. Otherwise I'll have super formal.
OK, important dates. Here's you could just take a look at what's up. Coming next week is what I keep talking about. Aggie experience live April 6 through 10. Do not miss it. Like literally your laptops need to be getting all the love next week and just stay glued to your laptops into your phones. It's going to be on social. It's going to be on Facebook lives going to be. You're going to receive an invitation to log in.
I wanna wrap up with just this timeline, so take a look at what's coming up. May 1st is your deadline to submit your intent to register. If you want to say yes to UC Davis and as soon as you say yes, do you see Davis? You're going to have access to that housing application an my advice. Do not procrastinate because our housing office is really awesome at trying to accommodate SU students on preferences, but you you need to get that in as soon as possible and you can connect with us.
All over the place where all over social and what we're really excited about this year is our new WhatsApp group for international students. There is the QR code if you want to slide your phone over it. Right now, just scan it. It should take you right in. There is already a good group building in there and they were talking it up. It should be a lot of fun even if you haven't decided yet that you want to come to UC Davis, we still want you in. The WhatsApp Group is just as safe place for you to interact with other admitted students from.
All over the world we are in there. I'm in their sands in there, my other colleagues from the international admissions team are in there. We can answer questions if you want, so do that. That's a good idea.
Alright, that's pretty much it. This is a big decision that you have in front of you.
And basically you have to decide if we're a good fit for you, we knew.
When we read your applications that we thought you would be a good fit and now you have to decide if we're a good fit for you. So just follow your heart and if your heart ends up leading into UC Davis, we're going to be here to welcome you with open arms.
Pranav Krishnan
04:28:47 AM
can u show the QR code again please
Then I really hope we get to see you on campus this fall.
I think that's about it. I'm going to start with questions now.
What kind of questions do you all have?
Jahanvi Narwal
04:29:03 AM
How is the Summer Start Program going to be affected by the coronavirus?
Can you show the QR code again? Yes I can.
Let's go back there, yeah, so we have actually multiple WhatsApp Group. We have a big one for that's just all international and then we have some regional groups as well.
And will try to get you a comprehensive list of those things.
Julien Jreissati
04:29:27 AM
hey, i really liked the presentation. may i ask what was the acceptance of pre meds in medical school at uc davis?
Pranav Krishnan
04:29:30 AM
Will you be talking about Finances or scholarships?
Pranav Krishnan
04:29:35 AM
what happens after 2 years?
But this one is for all international, and then once you're in there, I could probably share the links of the other groups for you.
We have a group for China. We have a group for Southeast Asia. We have a group for the Middle East. Uh, a lot of different groups coming up.
San Lee
04:30:13 AM
Hi Pranav, can you please clarify your question?
OK, here's a here's a comment. Uhm?
I really like the presentation my may. I ask what the acceptance of pre meds and medical school at UC Davis.
OK question about medical school. So many of you might already be aware that you see Davis has its own medical school. It's one of the top in the United States and its world famous. They're working on a vaccine right now for coronavirus as we speak, but there's a lot of opportunities for you to prepare yourself for medical school at UC Davis because we're research institution and we have all of those. All of those hands on opportunities for you to work in Labs.
San Lee
04:31:06 AM
We have very limited merit based scholarship for international students, it would have been your MyAdmissions page along with your admission decision
And do internships and research projects alongside professors. Some of them are even medical school faculty. You get to be really well prepared to apply for medical school in the United States. Medical School is something that you do after you complete your undergraduate degree. Sometimes students ask us if I go to UC Davis. Does that give me some kind of an advantage or priority for getting into medical school at UC Davis? So the answer to that is no.
Liliia Shanina
04:31:39 AM
Has all scholarship info been posted?
Not not like not in that way, but you do have an advantage in in the in terms of just having had exposure to the medical field and having all those experiences that make you attractive on your medical school application. We also have a pre health advising center that's awesome at helping students do things like prepare for the M Cat and or any of those health professions that you might be interested in.
San Lee

For US students, financial aid packages will be available to you soon, keep an eye on your myadmissions page
Pranav Krishnan
04:32:09 AM
i am asking about the housing
So somebody is asking about housing.
Pranav Krishnan
04:32:18 AM
after 2 years
Lianjie Shi
04:32:20 AM
Can u simply introduce the dormitory in 3 areas?
What happens after the two years? So I told you in the presentation that we're going to guarantee your housing for the first two years after that. What happens after that? Typically, students they don't want to live on campus anymore, they want they typically found a circle of friends that they want to.
Pranav Krishnan
04:32:44 AM
I am in India but am a US citizen
Rent an apartment with off campus. It's a college town, so even if you're living off campus, you will. Your off campus apartment options are usually still pretty close to campus. You can still walk or ride your bike to campus.
Pranav Krishnan
04:32:50 AM
do the Finacial aid packages apply to me
And our housing office is amazing at just directing students for different options in the Davis community, so you're not left out in the cold. They definitely support you to find a good spot to live after you're finished with your two years on campus.
Are the dorms first come, first serve? Can you introduce the dormitory in the three areas? So my best advice for you if you're looking at if you have specific questions about housing and how each of the three complexes are different, we've got three complexes segundo tercero en corto. They're all awesome. They're all really modern an all super secure, but they are slightly different in their flavor. Corto is more of a sweet option. There's a swimming pool out there on the other two are right smack dab in the middle of campus. There all.
Really close to your classrooms. It's really just a matter of what your preferences. So I think a great idea would be to go to the housing website fromucdavis.edu and take a look at the different pictures and diagrams that they have the Maps and they will give you all the details on how each one is different and they even have some videos that you can look inside the dorms to see what they look like.
OK, here's another question. Will you wait for international students who arrived late due to the late issue of visas and other documents? What if I can't enter the United States by December due to the coronavirus? OK, we expected this question. Let me just back up a little bit and will just take a deep breath an remember that what's happening right now is global is happening to all of us, so we're all in it together. The good news about that?
Is that we're really unified in the effort to be as understanding and flexible and accommodating as possible.

04:35:07 AM
Will it be smelly in campus because of the animals ?
Because it's affecting all of us and we want to make sure that we are being supportive of our current students and our incoming students. So right now, deadlines are what they are, what they are reported on our website. May one is the deadline to say yes to UC Davis if that's what you want to choose it. If it, if any of that changes, we will notify you in terms of documents. the University of California has just told us that they're going to be flexible about receiving documents. We know a lot of your schools are closed right now.

hey i understood what you said, but what i meant was what is the acceptance rate of uc davis pre meds in medical school(could be any any medical school) .
So that's OK. Um, these are things that are beyond your control, so we're not going to punish or disadvantage students because of things that they can't control that are not their fault. So we're going to be a little bit more patient for students turning in transcripts in schools, compiling their transcripts and things like that will wait until even the beginning of instruction if we have to.

Here's another question. Oh, this is funny. Will it be smelly on campus because of the animals? Uhm, yeah. So students sometimes ask this. Does UC Davis smell like cows? 'cause people know that we have cows? 'cause we're a few John agriculture. The answer to that is it smells more like students than cows. So we have a lot of animals. We have a lot of wildlife on campus. It's kind of our unique character, but it's a huge place.
And it's California, so we take really good care of our environment. The air is clean, there's no pollution. It smells lovely.
Pranav Krishnan
04:36:46 AM
What other animals are there?
Pranav Krishnan
04:36:52 AM
is it safe?
What animals are there on campus? Oh wow, OK so we have cows. We have dairy cows their their centrally located so you can actually go and say hi and sometimes I'll walk out there just to watch them. They're really cute. We have horses. UC Davis has its own equestrian center.
The only the only equestrian center in the whole UC system. If anybody rides horses or you want to learn how to ride a horse. We have goats. We have llamas, we have the number one school for veterinary medicine in the world, so we have plenty of small animals as well.

Lianjie Shi

Yes summer starts
Ririka Abe
04:37:49 AM
what happens if i cannot arrive by the start date due to the COVID-19 situation?
There's some questions about summer starts, so summer start is a program that runs in parallel with through the summer with with our other programs they may have already reached out to you. That's an elective program you can choose to participate or not to participate, and it's an opportunity to get started meeting and interacting with other international students before classes actually start and they have their own administration, their own stuff, and their own website so.
I don't believe I haven't heard that there's going to be any changes to the start date for summer start yet, but stay close to their website and I know that if they change anything they will reach out to you.
Um question about the I 20s? When will the I 20s be issued to students? So as soon as you say yes to UC Davis, you accept your admission that triggers notifications all over campus, including the office that handles the I 20s. They will reach out to you. They are very fast and they they like to be punctual about getting you the paperwork that you need so that you can schedule your at your visa appointment at the embassies.
Ririka Abe
04:38:55 AM
are all international students welcomed to summer start?
I don't know their exact timeline. Remember this is a huge University, so I know that within short a short amount of weeks within weeks of sending your SSI are they will reach out to you and try to prepare your I-20. But you really need to go to the SISS website for that through through UC Davis an they will have all the information about that in detail.
They are the experts about the visa process.

And they, yeah, so there's a question about how our travel restrictions going to impact that. They are also the experts about that, so they will. They are going to be flexible and understanding as much as possible. and I will also shout out that there are students who are really worried that they won't be able to get to California if this whole world doesn't settle down in time for fall. And we really hope and pray that it will. And I'm being very optimistic and you should all be optimistic about this too.
If it's if it's a situation where you can.
Can't get here. Um, that's something that you need to talk to us about and we will definitely try to work with you. We don't want to pull the plug on any of our students. We work really hard to admit you and get you here, so you're trying to be as patient and understanding with those things as we can.

Travel restrictions can impact
Here's a question. Will there be an opportunity for internships for business students? Google HP armor like for CIA for computer science students? Yeah, so I only gave a few examples of our internships. I mentioned that the internship and Career Center prepares and facilitates over 10,000 internships every year, so definitely not all of those are in the computer science or tech realm. There's a lot of internships for students who are interested in careers in business.
I suggest going to the inner internship and career website, internship and Career Center website. They have examples.
Zaheer Mohideen
04:41:23 AM
How do i prepare for veterinary studies during my undergraduate?
Of all the different internships that they have packaged in the past, based on your major, your field of study and we also have something called the majors blog on our website. If you go there and you search for your major, you'll see what our alumni have done in terms of internships and where their careers are now and how successful they are.
So we have over 100 majors. It's it's really hard to talk specifically about each one, but our website has a lot of details about all of those. We have a business, club, business and marketing club that you can participate in.
San Lee
04:42:10 AM
Hi Zaheer, you can visit the pre health advising center, they are really helpful for any pre med or pre vet students
It is over 80% of our students will do at least one internship before they graduate. It's not something that's a hard process to do. They're abundant. It just needs to show it. You just need to show a little bit of initiative to walk into the internship and Career Center so they can let you know what's available, and then you go for that and they hook you up.

Sorry, I joined the call late and maybe you have answered the question about scholarship for international students. Can you talk about it a little bit. Thank you
Liliia Shanina
04:42:45 AM
If I haven't received any scholarships along with my admission decision, does that mean I won't get any at all?
There is a question about scholarships. Who can we talk to about merit based scholarships? So when you applied to UC Davis your application for admission was also a scholarship applications. You might not have known that, but it also serves as a scholarship scholarship application. If you were eligible for any scholarships you would have already received an award through your my admissions page. You would have seen a tab, says my awards and you might have seen some.
Money coming to you in that way I will be very honest at the University of California because we are a public University where government funded. We don't have a ton of scholarships for international students out. You see, Davis still does compared to some other you season. They're all merit based. If you didn't see any awards in your with your admission offer, that doesn't mean that you still that you can still apply to Scott for scholarships Indiana.
Pranav Krishnan
04:43:44 AM
whom can we talk to regarding merit based scholarships?
Once you enroll our financial aid office is awesome that at helping point you in the right direction for those occasionally after May 1 when students after we see how many students say yes to UC Davis, the financial aid office may take a look at any leftover money from students who didn't say yes. I don't know why they wouldn't say yes, but they didn't say yes. There may be a little bit of money leftover. An financial aid will try to repackage those into some smaller awards.

i comleted the request of my i20 ,and there was a section ,wich asked about the adress will this be used to send my i20 or will they contact me to get a specific adress or should i contact the siss to get them a more specific major
They're not usually very big, maybe a few $1000. They may help you with some of the expenses, maybe a flight home or a new computer.
Yeah, but In addition to the handful of Merit based scholarships we have, if you're looking for ways to help yourself with some of the expensive we have work study options, you can get a part time job on campus.
San Lee
04:44:45 AM
Hi Julien, for i20, the SISS will need you to fill out your address and details before they can send it to you
But really, when we are advising students, we want you to be very aware of what the price point is for any University or taking a look at, you need to know in advance with the cost of attendance is before you say yes anywhere it needs to be. An amount of money that you and your family can comfortably absorb because we don't want students to come to University and go so far away from home and then be stressed out by things like how can I afford this or how am I going to pay for my books or my food or.
Things like that. We really want your focus to be all about your number one job, which is being a student.
Julien Jreissati
04:45:13 AM
oh so they will send me something again so i can fill a detailed adress?
And I would never advise a student to to sign up for a University where the tuition is far exceeds with their families. Budget is able to manage that wouldn't be fair and there is over 4000 universities in the United States. So you have a lot of options question about.
San Lee
04:45:21 AM

A recreation. What can I do for recreation out of campus on the weekends? Any interesting places outside of the campus and not very far? OK, I love this question, so it's California and we are really lucky it's going to sound super bias. Access to so many recreational activities year round California is perfect in terms of this. Whether it's super mild. We have four beautiful distinct seasons. We don't have any extreme weather like you hear about in some other parts of the United States. We like to be outside a lot because of that an I've lived here literally since I was born, and there are still parts of California that I haven't seen yet.

And still want to explore because I hear their amazing and so there's skiing and there is rafting and hiking and there is the beach. And yes, everything is very close to UC Davis where were very central. So if you want to try skiing or snowboarding, that's about an hour and a half away. If you want to check out the beats Beach. the Pacific Ocean is about another half hour and a half away. There's Yosemite, there's we have an outdoor adventures club that you can sign up for.
There's a lot to do if your if you want to just go into the city sacramento's about 15 minutes away, you can go to the mall, or you can watch a concert.
How are athletics at UC Davis? So I mentioned you see Davis is a Division One school. That's that means the sports scene here is really intense. If you feel that you are at that level and when I say Division One, these are the athletes who are competing in. We have over 20 sports that are Division One. You can see those on our athletics website. If you feel that you're at that level, which means you're kind of a star.
San Lee
04:47:38 AM
There might be delay on i20 as well. Keep an eye on your email, SISS will be in touch if anything
In your sport an you want to play for one of our Division One teams you can reach out to the coaches at the Athletics Department they are on our website and tell them about you and they may be interested in having a conversation to see where that can go.
Any other questions, let's see.
I know sands managing a ton of questions.
Thanks man for helping me.
If you all don't ask me questions, I've got a lot of questions I want to ask you, but I'll save those.

So can I ask you all the questions? It looks like we're winding down, but I'm curious about one thing. Um, what is the? So I'm imagining that you're all like us here in California. Kind of trying to stay home and social distancing and trying to do the responsible thing. What is the first thing that you want to do?

04:49:47 AM
I would love to go out at least, cause now I am allowed to do that only with my parents.
So many things I haven't even decided what the first thing is. I want to do. It's amazing how as social beings we we tend to take things for granted, but there's a lot of positives that I feel have come out of this. I don't want to get too sappy, but I'm just sort of in awe of how unified the whole world is around this. And we're all in this collectively together, and this issue has transcended boundaries. It's transcended past four. It's like it doesn't matter how much money someone makes or where they're from or what language they speak, were all.
In it together and learning a lot of things.
San I love you. Sam says she wants to see Dahlia. I want to see you too. I can't wait till we cannot till we can all hang out together again.
Um, any less questions someone has a question about deferred enrollment, so deferred enrollment is something that we have available for students who know they want to come to UC Davis and they have S ARD by May 1, but they're not ready to start for whatever reason, so maybe.

what is Deferred Enrollment
They have a family situation, or maybe this current situation due to travel restrictions is preventing them from starting on time in September and they want to postpone their enrollment for a little bit of time. We will allow students to postpone their enrollment from between one quarter to up to a whole year, and that is on your my admissions page. You should be able to see the information for doing that there.
Any last questions? I think we're going to wrap up.
I'm going to. I'm going to say goodbye to you all. Now I this was awesome. Thanks so much for interacting with me an with interacting with sand things sound for the help I want to see everybody in WhatsApp. Uhm you have the option to keep connecting with us. Make sure you attend Aggie experience. Live next week there are real life people that are going to be ready to receive your questions and you can see them on camera. It's going to be a lot of fun so.
Thanks so much everybody for being here. I hope you have a great rest of your day or evening wherever you are. Make sure you also pay attention to the menu of webinars that we have. If you registered for this one, you should have been able to see on a menu of other topics coming up. We've got a UC Davis AMA ask me anything coming up. I'm hosting some sands hosting, some we've got other teammates that are also hosting some. Some make sure you try to hop into at least one more web and R.
After this, to make sure you are fortified with all the information that you need to make it really good. Confident decision about UC Davis, I hope to see you in the fall. Thanks so much you guys for coming.
