Alright, so before I get into the material I want to cover today, I also want to let you know that we do have closed captioning and if you go to the top right of your screen you will see.
Two seasons in the box on the top right and so that is how you connect to the automated captioning service and it will show up on the chat OK.
So I know you must have a million one different questions about choosing a University and specifically UC Davis. And hopefully you will will will cover some of those questions along with the power point. But also I'm going to try to keep this short, about 15 to 20 minutes, so any questions that you still have, feel free to type them into the at the very end and I will get around to them.

Uhm, let me know if you can see the screen here. If you can see our title slide before I proceed.
Did anyone see this slide I have up on the screen here?
Veronica Zendejas
06:04:04 PM
yes I can
So the first thing I want to cover is five of the most popular reasons students choose UC Davis and hopefully this will guide you along as to why campus may be a good fit for you. Like I said, we will. I will be covering some questions at the very end, so just keep mind of those questions as we go along.
But the first reason student site uhm why they love being on campus is the campus itself. Because it's so beautiful. So this is actually a photo of our Arboretum in the springtime.
And on this slide, now you can see the housing area or personal residence Hall on the left. It's one of our newest buildings there and then on the right you'll see Heart Hall, which showcases one of our museums on campus. This one actually has our Native American parts, but we have over 3000 square footage square feet on campus of land that you can walk and go to class too. And it's actually the biggest.
You see campus within the system. What that means for you is, of course if a lot of walking. But it's also just beautiful scenery. Have lots of trees. I like to say that we're literally Green, literally at, literally and figuratively as well.
Quad we tend to have a lot of events throughout the year, so even as early as your first week on campus we will have welcoming events for our first year students together and we will also have events like.
Concerts played by local band or even some of your other Aggies. One year I came out of my French class and I actually saw former President Bill Clinton speaking there. So sometimes you'll see some really interesting events happening on the pod, which is our central hub on campus.
Apart from that, we go to the South side of campus. You will run into the Arboretum. This is personally my favorite part of campus. It's about a three mile stretch of waterway known as Peter Creek, and we also have a Redwood robe seen on your right, but it is home to hundreds of different species. My favorite species will be the Ducks, which are very friendly and the schools as well, but you can do everything from jobs and take a quick nap and study break here.
Sometimes you'll see certain students taking large samples for their agricultural and environmental classes, or even our art studio on students who will take the scenery there.
So it's a very beautiful place on chip is not too far.
Is capital beautiful enough for you? Our location tends to be a really good UM play some kind of a good factor for students. We are about 20 minutes away from Sacramento, which is our state capital and you can take.
Advantage of the opportunities such as are you see Sacramento program open to all majors, not just students who are interested in policy.
For about an hour and a half two hours away from San Francisco, do you wanna take a quick weekend getaway? And we also have Yosemite about 3 hours away in like Tahoe, about 2 hours away.
If you don't wanna do these, uh, kind of California adventures on your own, we do have some clubs on campus such as outdoor adventures which will coordinate groups of students to go scale Half Dome in Yosemite, or go white water rafting in the spring when it's warmer, so we can definitely take advantage of those extracurriculars on campus.
And then, of course we supposed to San Francisco. We do have some pretty great connections for internships of all kinds of disciplines, not just type and.
There are still major, so that's pretty great.
So another thing is that I love about being a freshman student off campus was this week, so our food is great and you'll run into it everywhere, both on and off campus. On the left you will see a picture of our signature dining Commons, and so each residence Hall area will have its own dining common area. But all of our boots has to be sourced responsibly. An lokoli as a way to reduce our carbon footprint.
But that also means for you is that healthy and organic? Um, so some of this we actually comes from our scheme farm, which is open for students to work at and can do internships with.
But you we also have some local food trucks that come and stop by if you see pictured on the top right, our speakers love that my favorite ones tend to be the Indian food truck and then also in the summer. We have an ice cream truck and then a shape I screenshot.

If these don't sound too appetizing for you, you can always walk downtown literally a block off of campus and we will run into an array of different cuisines there that will cater to students in terms of price range as well as in the first week. We will tend to get a lot of food discounts from these restaurants.
Anybody here a big fan of Boba?
We have a lot of robot shops both on campus and off campus, and students love to take advantage of that and I will also say that stuff such as myself will take advantage of it being so close to campus and grab a quick kind of snack shop there.
You know, academics is a really big part of the college experience, but we also understand that you do need a break, and so we do have a lot of recreational activities on campus. You can see the Reckful on our left. It's actually newly renovated, have left pools but also like allows you for and it has be to Bali Ball course that you can take advantage and then on the right you can see our Memorial Union. So we do have arcade games we have.
An 8 Lane Bowling Alley for students to play games at. And then we also have like we have PlayStation and gives that students can take advantage of as well or Memorial Union is located centrally right across from our spot so you don't have to walk through four or even 5 two parts in Houston, TX.
The second thing that seems like to take advantage of on our campus and like they really enjoy, is the experience both within the classroom as well outside the classroom because our classes can have hands on experience.
So pictured on the left you will see are very popular. Transfer driving course experiences that other general elective credit, but on the right you will also see students taking.
Chemist Chemical Engineering Course via are interested coffee allowed course so you can learn about coffee and how that's made, but also its await fun way to get hands on experience on what chemical engineering can look like as in this type field.
We also have study abroad programs. We are very proud of the fact that we have a very low plus program. So we have programs in over 40 different countries countries in every continent and we can do everything from take courses for your biology major to doing an internship in like Thailand for example for business. So students love that they can do that during the academic year. Over the summer we have a whole array of different.
Put down specific advantage of depending on what they're looking for in their study abroad experience.
The pictured on the bottom left. You can see some students are our the Dega Marine Laboratory. This is a great program for students who are especially interested in biology because it's a residential program where you live on the coast of California about 2 hours away from our campus and you actually take your biology courses in on much smaller class size with a professor from campus and we can even start some of your research there.
We also provide a lot of on campus jobs for students, so you can get some hands-on experience while also being paid for that experience. So I should prior to my role as an admission advisor. I used to work at the internship and Career Center and I also worked on orientations on summer, so that was a way that I could pay off my student loans, but also get some skills. Are communicating, collaborating, teamwork, and all of that.
We also have a beautiful residential program on campus at the animal bars, so you'll see that student holding the goat, but you can actually apply to live on campus at the animal barn and you would work with animals on a day-to-day basis. So cool way to reduce your transportation living on campus, but also getting that have an experience with animals.
And if you're looking for a very interesting student job, you can also take advantage of being a unit transcriber. Arjuna, trans are the red buses. Pictures below completely run by our student government and and prefer seems to use, but you can also learn to drive a double Decker bus imported from London. So probably you need to experience offered on campus.
Search is like staying healthy and, uh, we really try to promote that as much as possible and by making it easy for students.
So like I said, We are green, literally and figuratively. We have our student pharmacies to participate in. Would you use those that produce for our students eating at the dining Commons? But we also have some other things on campus like our yoga classes offered on the positive free our farmers market both on campus as well as in Central Park a couple blocks away. And if you go to the student health and Wellness Center, picture on the right.
You can take advantage of services such as our psychiatry program or even our massage chairs if you just need a quick five minute break to these stress. So these are all over this thing is that all three and it's very accessible for students to take.
There is also a thing that students the love of our campus. We are a pretty fun group of students, especially when we're at the field or at the court. We have the biggest student run your kind of organization known as our Aggie Pack. Pictured on the bottom right, students will go all out as you can see they have body paint on them. I say it has been seeing people dress.
Up in houses, but are things like to take advantage of the free sporting events on campus for all of our Division One sports. So it's all of our sports, including football and basketball, both of which actually made it to the Championships this year. But also we have our two news sports like a question, writing and beach volleyball. If you know watching sports is fun that you actually want to get.
He asked if you can join one of our intramural sports, known as I am. You can do sports I volleyball or basketball as well, but some of the more typical Davis im sports tend to be footage and interested water polo. So some unique Davis sports there for you to get involved with and we also have plugs, sports if you want to go on to something a bit more competitive.
So one other thing about Siri is that our spirit extends beyond campus, so we have spirit going into the community, and that's one of the things that is very unique about UC Davis. We are one of the few remaining college towns in the nation, and what that means is that the downtown area is literally a block away from campus and the services in the businesses that are there cater to our speed. It's our community members.
As well as, uh, like our staff and all that are very willing to help you get the most out of your screen experience and everybody is very approachable. Pictured on the top left you see our varsity movie theater where they actually give discounts for speeders on Tuesdays.
And so our very last aspect, us device, seems really cheesy. Davis is our community and we have centers like our international center that houses are study abroad office. But it's open to all of our students who not just want to participate, but also find that mean your home away from home and so our students tend to. You'll hear that phrase alot home away from home for our students. Whether there an hour 2 away or coming across.
The world, but I love to meet new people and build community that way.
So we like to say that there really is a home for everybody, whether your coming from different backgrounds. It ends up being kind of the same and story for our alone that they really found a supportive community for this to support their needs and their passions in those roles. While they're there, I just eat it. And then there's a lot of alumni like myself who end up coming back to really further faucet at community as a staff member, or even just part of it.
So with that, uhm, I want to quickly with some dates up on the board, so the next deadline that's coming up for you all as admitted students is May 1st. And that's the deadline to submit your statement of intent to register. Or your Sir. That's basically you letting us know that you have chosen UC Davis in that we will see you in the fall.
Once you've committed that, Sir, you're my admissions portal will give you the other specific deadlines, but you can see that your deadline question housing is May 6, so pretty quickly after you submit your Sir and with that will submit a housing application with housing preferences, and then you have July 1st for official transcripts in July 15th to send official test scores.
So all of that information will be available to you for your my admission portal.
And Lastly, if you haven't already joined our WhatsApp group for Aram seems coming from the Northeast. All you have to do is pull up your camera app and scan the QR code of all the directions, but essentially this is a way that you can further connect with me and my other colleagues on the chat on to ask us more questions about UC Davis as well as just connect with other students from your area and kind of had that conversation about how to choose a campus or what you're looking for in a campus.
So that's another way to get.
And then we got up on the screen for you all. And if if you wanted to join the group.
Hum, I really want to reiterate, uhm, you know that we are excited to have you here as admitted Aggies and that we are hoping that we are helping you in this transition to select a home for the next four years.
No, take advantage of this time. Do your research. Ask questions on there.
There is no pressure. Just make sure that you're picking something that's right for you.
And so with that, that is the end of my formal presentation. I'm going to open it up to questions. So if you're free to use the chat to include customs in there, and I will answer them as they come along.
So our first question is how competitive are the study abroad opportunities?
Leslie Beas
06:22:14 PM
how competitive are the study abroad opportunities?
Start studying abroad. Opportunities are more of our first come first serve basis and all you really need to do is be in good academic standing so not feeling any of your courses to participate. So once you go ahead and submit the application for the study abroad program that you're interested in, and then our study abroad advisors will work with you to make sure that you have that you're meeting all the deadlines, reading all the necessary paperwork to go along with that process.
Samantha Irwin
06:22:33 PM
is there any chance the campus will be open this month to tour?
Raghav Bajoria
06:22:46 PM
Can i choose my roomates?
So our next question is in regards to force and whether or not we will have any toys available on campus as it now we are taking precautions to make sure that everybody is safe and with the current situation. So we are offering more virtual options but as of now we are not holding any physical interesting stores, so make sure you checked into our AG experience live happening next week.
That will be your good opportunity to see what else we have to showcase on campus as well as see pictures and videos of campus.

For Financial Aid, is the information already posted to the MyAdmissions website?
So our next question is in regards to financial aid and it's is information already posted for my for my admissions website. So if you don't see your financial aid information on your mind missions there still working on it, I believe they are wrapping up those packages. This at the end of this week, so you should have that information sometime next week. We will also be hosting another web and are much like this but with the financial.
Nicole Chen
06:23:54 PM
what if you can't afford the tuition but UC Davis is one of your top choices?
A representative and I believe it's next week. If you wanted to tune in and ask more specific questions about that once it's available to you.
So our next question is uhm.
Why did you tell for the tuition? The easy Davis is one of your top choices, so again, I would still prefer a specific questions to our financial. A representative who are webinars that's happening next week, but if you're coming from California you will have some financial aid options available and it will be broken down through the financial aid.

do you have to be an animal science major to live by the animal barn ?
Zaynah Cochinwala
06:24:52 PM
If I am currently an economics major and later I want to switch to managerial economics, what would be the process of switching majors since these majors are in different colleges?
Our next question is, do you have to be an animal science major to live in animal barn on? So no, the one thing I think is really love of our campuses that you can take advantage of pretty much any opportunity on campus through internships that he abroad or you can like the residency program like the animal barn residence program without a particular major. Some programs like the internship or even research opportunities may require some prerequisites. So like you may have to take.
A few courses to have that basic knowledge to be able to do your work efficiently at the research opportunity, but it's not major dependent, so you can be whatever major and apply for the residential program.
James Carney
06:25:42 PM
What percent of freshman live on/off campus?
Our next question is if I'm currently in economics major, an later I want to switch to managerial economics. What would be the process of switching majors since these majors are in different colleges, that's a very great question. Is a very common question of well, our students are always changing majors, and So what we tell students is if you already know you want to change your major.
As of now, you would have to wait until you finish your first quarter on campus to officially submit a petition to change majors.
Some majors may happy requisite so you wanna work with that new majors advisor to know what those two references are. They will also be available to you through your student portal once you are enrolled, but it's not really an issue changing from one college to another, as long as they're meeting those requirements.
Kira Densford
06:26:27 PM
how does housing selection work? do we get to pick where we live or is it random?
Our next question is what percentage percentage of freshmen live on versus off campus, so I'd say close to 90% of our freshman freshman students will live on campus.
Megan Jacobs
06:27:05 PM
How can we learn how to double major or minor?
Camp housing is guaranteed the first 2 years as he comes in so you can live on campus for first. Your first two years in the residence halls. Most of our students opt out of living on campus their second year and take advantage of apartments, which is a part of living on in a college town. But if you want to live off campus the first week, we definitely plan. I would say that that was one of my favorite things apart from the dining Commons. So the dining Commons and having access to that.
Is part of living on campus and part of being a furcio speeded up, so that's one part. But also you build a lot of community and you build a lot of relationships on in the doors or in the residence halls when you're a freshman student. Because students are again collaborative, you have kind of that energy of being a news. Feed it and having a hold University to get accustomed to. But I still talk to a lot of people that I lived.
With on the same floor from my residence home.
Leslie Beas
06:27:46 PM
what opportunities does Davis have for undeclared students in order to help find the right major?
Our next question is also about housing, and it's about how the housing selection works and how do we get to pick where students where we live? Or is it random? So once you submitted that Sir, you will see that housing application and that application is to for you to specify your preferences so you will pick which residence halls you want to live in. We have three areas that will be sub window which are known as our high rises and will feature mostly doubles.
We have our tercero area which you thought pictured earlier which will house mostly triples and then we have a far to which is technically about a block away off campus. But it will be a sweet style living situation so you would specify your preference and and rank them and then if you have a roommate in mind, you can also specify a roommate if you don't know who would like to room with we will give you kind of a certain way.
You understand what your living situation preferences are. For example, will try to pair you up with like. If your night owl, then you will most likely be rooming with somebody who's also on night owl, so that it's easier for you to adjust.
And then also, if you want to live in one of our living learning communities or kind of our themed flooring, you can specify that in your housing application.
Our next question is how can we learn? Yeah, how can we learn how to double major or minor?
Conor Warshawsky
06:29:38 PM
I'm currently a political science major. after finishing the first quarter could I add a major in music? and do a double major?
So our double majors and minors are very common. I mentioned earlier that I had a minor and I need people who double majored in you can triple major. It takes a lot of planning so I will say that, uh, friends, but it's essentially if you're hoping to include another subject in your degree, so to speak. You definitely wanna talk to major adviser to understand what the requirements are and what that process is for a double major, you usually have to take all the coursework.
Or you can go ahead and petition and the same thing happens with a minor. There is no real limitation between where which college you can double major or minor. My major is in one College in my mind there isn't another college. It really will just be about properly scheduling the prerequisites and the courses that you need in order to fulfill the requirements for those majors.
The next question is what opportunities does Davis, however undeterred students in order to help find the right major. So if you're coming in undeclared, there really is no rush. You have about two years to really figure out what major you want to officially declare, and you will have a major advisor to help guide you with that. However, one of the things that we have built into our curriculum to help students, both undeclared in.
Sally Voong
06:31:16 PM
if we choose to do work study for freshmen year, are we able to immediately use money we earn or do we have to wait till a specific date?
I'm serious, we may be looking for double majors. Is our general education program, so that's one way to explore different topics to figure out which major you'd like to officially declare, but also your major advisors will talk to you an even maybe take help you take some personality quizzes and all that through our internship in Career Center to understand what you're good at and what you like, and then you will take courses kind of catering to that to see you like that too.
Hello father, ask I'm currently a political science major. After finishing the first quarter put, I add a major in music and do a double major so you could definitely do that. Like I mentioned earlier, you do want to make sure you're talking to the major advisor for the new measure to make sure that you are understanding what the requirements are, what that timeline will look like, and kind of how we proceed from there. But it's definitely doable. You will most likely be taking.
Horses for the major out. Sorry for the music. Double major. Before you officially declare a double major, but Yes, you can definitely workout in with some podcasts.
Our next question is if we choose to do work study for freshman year, are we able to immediately use money we earn or do we have to wait until a specific date?
Meghna Chatterji
06:32:25 PM
Does a double major cost double the tuition?
So, uh, another good question to ask our financial aid representative. However, work study means that you will be the money that you are earning doesn't actually go into your own bank account. It goes towards your steam keys directly, so you never really see official amounts like in your in your bank account. So just keep that in mind. It will go towards student fees. They won't go towards housing or food or books so.
That's one thing to keep in mind if you decide to opt in to study abroad work study. However, if you say you know I'd rather manage money on my own, you can definitely still apply to an on campus job and then that would be the positive to you directly and you can manage your finances that way.
Raghav Bajoria
06:33:14 PM
Does Davis provide us with bicycles to move around the campus or we have to get it arranged from outside?
Does a double major cost double the tuition no so the nice thing is that your tuition is set for the entire academic years regardless of how many units you take and by that I mean if you want to go above the minimum then you can definitely go above the unit minimum you do have to remain at least 1240 units to receive your financial aid so there is a minimum that you need but you can go towards 15 or 16 and 17 minutes if you like?
And so that is one way things are able to include a double major.
This tables provide us with bicycles to move around the campus. Or do we have to arrange?
I have to get it arranged from outside, so talk to you a lot of our sins will buy their own bikes invented campus. We also have a local target that students going by bike from and then we have our bike barn where you can buy bikes from campus. However we also have the new I'm thinking out on the name.
The new Huber bites that you can rent out on campus. So if you say I don't really want to have my own bike and maintain it and worry about, you know, locking it up between classes, you can definitely just to take advantage of the that bike service that we have on campus jump. It's called Jim and then you don't have to worry about getting it.
So uhm, are there any other questions?
Don't be shy, I can definitely talk about other things or my experiences in the meantime.
One thing I think we haven't touched on has been, um, floods. So we do have over 800 different clubs on campus that will include everything from.
Replies to pre professional types of clouds like pre, Med or pre law to acapella music related clubs to even things like Harry Potter for example. So everything from like building professional experience. They just having fun on campus, an leading the meeting. More friends are available on campus.
Megan Jacobs
06:35:58 PM
what does weekend life at davis look like?
Raghav Bajoria
06:36:05 PM
How is the party situation
But let's see Alisa got triggered a few questions here. Um, what does weekend life at Davis look like?
Leslie Beas
06:36:07 PM
chicanx/latinx clubs/programs?
Uhm, I like to say that really depends on the, UM, what quarter in fall quarter is very exciting. 'cause you see people rushing for greets. You see a lot of students going out to those welcome week events in the first week before classes start where you get to know where all the clubs are or what clubs are available to you and really get to see what other freshman year students are like and where they live. And just meeting with people as well.
Uhm, but um, in the first couple of weeks on campus, students are out on the weekend. I take advantage of meeting new friends from all over the world and I say in the winter because we do get some rain in Northern California, then students tend to stay a little bit more closer to campus.
Have more like Internet gathering. So uhm, having like lunch and dinner on the weekends or movie nights as a post like going out with bro or just outside playing footage of Frisbee and then this spring it picks up again. This is very similar to the fall. I like to joke around and say students like to hibernate in the winter.
Nicole Chen
06:37:45 PM
what made you choose davis?
But you can find a bunch of activities happening no matter what. All of our clouds are active year long, so really well just depends on like what you're looking for, and there still will be gatherings and events happening during the winter. It just really would be you having to be involved in those clubs or organizations to have those events available to you.
Uhm, and then our next one is his kind of along the lines of that. So how is the price situation so, um, you will find students gathering any University or college that's just like college life. But it really will depend on you an your social circles and what you want to do. So would you have replies? And then we also have again I plugs and.
About, but really were typical University with all these opportunities. So you can definitely.
Take advantage of that throughout the years with your friends.
And we do have lots that are specific to cultural identity, so this one is specifically to Archie comics with units plugs. We also have centers on campus that are related to identity, so it's a good way to find, assume job, or even an internship in coordinating programs like which have screwed coordinators for our annual powwow on campus, which is a good cultural awareness program, but also a fundamental.
It's a 2 hour center. Students can take advantage of not just the community, but also advisors. I'm looking hard like first hand experience with, you know, just kind of the road to becoming a professional as well as likely printing or tutors there as well.
And this question is from Nicole as to what made me Tuesday this so.
I'm from the Bay Area and one of my things was finding a place where I could grow as kind of my independent person, but still not be too far from home. So location was a really big thing for me and that means that the things were different people. Some people like one of my best friends from high school, wanted to get as far away as possible from home, but for me I wanted to be close enough and not.
Not too close, and so that was a really big factor in once. I actually step foot on campus. I was just blown away by how beautiful it was. Interesting the community like just seeing people interact with one another and how.
Like supportive, everybody felt and I definitely felt that all my first day when I got lost and needed help finding my course. People actually stopped where they were going and walk me to my my lecture Hall. So it was appreciated. The community on campus and have seen that from Day One and that's kind of why I chose campus.
Um, so another topic that we haven't quite text on here is our oriented change and so orientation is moving to.

Any other questions?
Format for this year and what that is going to look like. It will have three stages to which will be online stages and then our third will be in person orientation where you get to meet the people that are living with you at the residence halls as well as people from the same major. So we're pretty excited about that. We're hoping that the online experience will be a good exposure to campus and its resources, but then.
Having students actually come on campus or for the in-person orientation direction right before process start as a good way to build up some spirit and community on campus.
So, uhm, I can also talk about research, so uhm, I did mention that we have some research opportunities. About 70% of our students will do research on campus and about most of that is not more of our students will participate in.
Yeah, internship opportunities. So for research we have our undergraduate Research Center. They can help you kind of get started on how to do everything from like approach a professor for a research project to get published. An national conferences with scholarship money. So really take advantage of that. If you really want to go ahead and get a robust research experience. I do like to say that though we are open search based University.
It's not mandatory to do research, so it's really up to you and the skills that you hope to build and get from the University experience, but also kind of what you have to do with the degree of once you graduate.
In terms of internship, so we do have our internship and Career Center and you do everything from.
Review your resume and cover letter to help you practice for interviews. And then we also have special guests talk about how to find jobs. So every year we have like the FBI come and talk about how to get a federal government job. If you're hoping to apply for that as well as.
Or, uhm, we have an advisor talking about how to get into a Piper animal science related programs. So nice kind of Internet information session. From that we also host for three year affairs every year where we have over.

What all on campus jobs are there

How common are internships in silicon valley?
300 employers show up and so it will range from every industry like in locations and marketing to help them engineering and and everything in between there. But then we have one left specifically for our on stem majors. In those industries. We also have some great partnerships with some pretty big games like Amazon in Chevron where they actually have recruiters come and talk to students about how to be.
If people with African so they were interested in a certain company, they may come in actually talked to Davis students on what they're looking for it so very interesting experience. And then, do I have any pre Med majors or hoping to go into medical school?
Um, if you are interested in pursuing Freeman or anything in the medicine medical field, we do have our medical school in Sacramento, so it's about 20 minutes away and we even have a shuttle that will take you from Davis to Sacramento for free and then back of course. But the we call them health related internships and the health related internships are open to any major, but you would essentially select an internship that works with your time in the Department.
You are interested in and then you would go to the medical school for your project. So arsenis allowed that because there's no competitive process to it. It really is just like registering for of course.
So we have a question about on campus jobs, so you can do everything from be as soon as eyes are like I was on campus to work at our dining Commons or at the coho you wanted to do more of that, like nutrition or food science. High above experience, you can be one of our unitrans drivers and drive our buses around. You can actually work for our students governments and become an elected official. We actually have one of the largest.
We want budgets over University campus in the nation, so we want to hone in on those economic skills or even business skills and negotiating skills than ASU CPR. Government is a great place for you to get involved in and then we have.
Working off campus as well at the local businesses. So a lot of things worked on campus. You'll see screens everywhere. The nice part of the college town drive.
And then we have a question about how common are internships in Silicon Valley? So we do have partnerships with a lot of programs or companies in Silicon Valley. Google is also another one, but because we're pretty close to Silicon Valley, about like 2 hours away, a lot of those companies actually do come to those career fairs that I mentioned earlier to Davis.
And some of them will even hire students after interviewing them on campus.

Is it easy to get jobs with an F-1 visa

06:47:06 PM
How is the college transfer opportunities?
So yeah, whatever things that the Silicon Valley license or from Silicon Valley, so there's a lot of connections that happen there. If you can go to look at career fair or one of those information sessions from one of those companies, you can also find those companies on our internship with Career Center online job database. So let's open to all of our students and even alumni, so you can apply to jobs through that on portal.
And so we have another question in regards to getting jobs with an F1 visa. I will say that I'm not too familiar with all the regulations with the visa, but if you go to our.
So if you go like type NBC Days International Center you will see information for advisors that know the limitations to be says and they are open to talking to perspective students about what those limitations will fight. Then will opportunities are available to you.
And we have another question about how is the college transfer opportunities? Can you specify? Do you mean like a transfer student coming from a University and or Community College?

whats the campus atmosphere like?
And then while I wait for your attendance terrifying comment, I will answer the next question about the campus atmosphere. I like to say that our campus is cool, calm and collected. So cool, because our students are very kind of in with the new trends. Definitely all about saving the environment with guard. Less of the major and being conscious of our carbon footprint as individuals as well.
A campus where also collected that we collaborate a lot and we really face together like that together in in the face of adversity and stand up for each other and then.

FroM another university to this school, how is that transfer process? Is it difficult or are there requirements to be filled?
And then yeah, so sources are just friendly and collaborative and very easy to buy. Boy, I will find that students are very ambitious as well, but they will still be very approachable. I like desire engineering seniors because that we talked to some engineering students awhile ago and they were double majoring and multiple clubs. But they always made it a point to mentor younger engineering students by letting them know what classes were great and what internships or research opportunities were available to students.
And so that was a really great time to take away.
And then going back to that previous question and so transfer opportunities for students from another University. And how's that transfer process? And is it difficult or their requirements to be filled? So if you're coming from another University or Community College, there are different requirements that you have to fulfill and so you're not looking at like the GPA or essay Tees, or near that like the freshman requirements.
What you could do is I'm looking at other things so specific coursework really comes into play. Depending on the major. For specific questions, I would say that's really a kind of more of a one on one conversation because I need to know the main Journal about but just keep in mind if you are coming from a four year University we have to evaluate like what courses would transfer over because not all of the University courses were taking which transfer over.
So it's more of a one on one conversation and.
OK, I will put my email there for you so that we can get in contact with the transfer process.
One other thing I can talk about is the common question of whether or not you can graduate in four years and the answer is yes. It's very doable for schools to graduate in four years. A lot of our students we choose to graduate and more than or take longer than four years to graduate end up doing double majors or like adding triple majors in extra minors later in their academic career, which is what postpones their graduation.
That's why it's very, very important to talk to an advisor as soon as possible. Once you all want to know that you want to potentially add another major or minor.
I actually want to see my advisor like twice a year and so with that I was able to coordinate and make sure my general education awesome. It's among the major requirements and I was able to finish a lot of my work. I'm inspector and even had the possibility of graduating in three years, so it's all about planning, but it's very beautiful forest.

how's the classroom setting?
Meghna Chatterji
06:52:21 PM
Is it hard to do a co-op with a double major?
Uh, we have a question about the classroom setting, so our classrooms. I mean, we are a pretty big University. We have a 20 students who won the Cockatoo Dacio. Though I usually tell Sue that that doesn't really matter in terms of like what you're seeing here student there. Because when you're in you're like more intro courses. I usually come to take at the beginning of your academic career that can be in lecture halls of like 200.
Yes, but that course will also break up. Break into discussion sections and those will be about 30 students who are taking a science course is very similar, but In addition to a lecture and discussion you also have lab which will also be about 30 stealing.
So you have more of an Internet setting to talk to graduate students, professors, and other students of well through the discussions and lab sections, and are all of our professors will also have office hours where you can talk to professors one on one about research opportunities that they may be offering, or even just questions about what the lecture covered.
I'm in so we had one other question about whether or not it's hard to do a hard to do a Co op with a double major. Sir Coop is a on campus living program that the way to get hands on experience as well as you will still stay on campus and have a close amount of people that you really build a relationship with. Our based off of a common passion.
And I believe we have three different areas that you could choose from and kind of applying to you, but it's going to be pretty much the same thing. It has an extra component like an exponential component, like an internship, but most of our students do internships In addition to doing a double major as well. So it's all about, you know.
School balance of Walls that you bounce with just some prioritizing deadlines and all that, but it's definitely doable.
Alright, so I think that is if I'm not seeing any other questions, so I do want to end the same. Thank you for joining me today and talking a bit about the campus that I attended and also love and hopefully you will love as well. But if you haven't already joined, don't forget to join the WhatsApp Group and then you can also reach us through.
My admissions if you got to ask an advisor on our website. You can also ask Pacific questions there.
