Jackie Nguyen
06:02:17 PM
190 sign up
Have 190 so we should be getting more people, but if not then that's OK too. People can just feel free to drop in.
Alright, about two more minutes, and then we'll go ahead and get started. 'cause I do want to be cognizant of everyone's time. It's almost dinner time so don't want to keep you guys too long.
OK, so we are at 6:05. Sorry you guys had to just stare at me awkwardly looking at the screen for the last five minutes. But first of all, welcome welcome. Thank you so much for joining us today for our Ask Me Anything you see. Davis admissions Q&A today if you are familiar with read it then you know what animes are all about is asking me anything so ask me anything about UC Davis and hopefully we can get some good answers today.
So first some housekeeping rules. We have closed captioning that you can go ahead and click. Just be aware that it is automated, so it might not be perfect, but hopefully I can speak clearly enough where the captions are going to be pretty accurate. Joining me today are some of my coworkers from undergraduate admissions, Sandy, Jackie, and Maritza, who are our chat moderators and then also we have Allie, Michelle Shea and Molly as our student. Chat support. So they'll really be able to give us some good insight.
Aaron Holsonege
06:05:59 PM
Hey Jackie!
What it's like to be a UC Davis student? To introduce myself my name is Ella Lam. I am in admissions advisor and analyst over for undergraduate admissions, and what that means is I work with both perspective freshmen and transfer students about what it takes to get into UC Davis and hopefully support you guys along the way. As you make your decisions on what's going to be the best fit for you. So, without further ado, let's go ahead and get started.
Jackie Nguyen
06:06:35 PM
Hi @Aaron! :)
Also feel free to drop any questions throughout any part of the presentation that comes up. If any of this on any of the sides. If you have questions about, feel free to just shoot those questions out and we'll try to we'll try our best to go ahead and answer them. Alright, so first of all, let's talk about my admission, so my admissions is our portal, which is where you are going to go. Whenever you have something to update us on, you've probably been on my admissions many times already.
But if you haven't, please be sure to sign up and log in right after this presentation. You can get started by clicking on the link in your admission email or going to the URL on screen. So myadmissions.ucdavis.edu this is our online portal where you can get a bunch of information about UC Davis. Commit to attending the fall by submitting your sirf or completing other admission or enrollment tasks. So this is where you're going to accept your financial aid. Apply for student housing after you submit your sirf.
Also, updating us on, let's say if you have a new address or a new email or you need to update us on some classes that you're taking admissions. My admissions is really going to be your one stop shop in order to let us know exactly what's going on.
Uh, once you looked over all your information, so your contract maybe if you have specific grades that you need to get all that kind of stuff, make sure to also commit to UC Davis so you can also go onto the my admission, submit our statement of intent to register and then there will be a small deposit that is non refundable. And then you're off at a gun rock, Gallup, Tord joining us at campus in the fall.
So let's talk about student housing for transfer students. So for our transfer students, you're most likely going to be living in our brand new apartment community. The green at West Village. So you can see some of the pictures here. We had some students moving in, and So what? That looks like is that there are more of a student apartment instead of freshman dorms because we know as transfer scenes you guys are more mature and that you want to kind of have more independent style living. So you can see in the pictures right here you have some common areas of the kitchen.
All brand new appliances. Looks really really awesome. And then you have these really great cards also help you move in as well. If you have a lot of stuff like me.
So during normal times we do guarantee housing for your first two years at UC Davis, but we might have to modify that based on public health guidelines. So that's just something that you want to be cognizant of. Checking your emails for us from us regarding any campus updates. For now we are looking towards a return to campus this fall, but again, just keep in mind and check your email. Check your spam for any updates from us.
Jackie Nguyen
06:09:43 PM
Let us know if you have any questions :)
You also have the option of purchasing a meal plan so you can also eat at our on campus dining Commons and the housing Office can also help you find off campus housing if you need it. And one thing I will say about the meal plans or just the meals in general and Davis are like just amazing because there's just so many different kinds of cuisines. If you have specific dietary restrictions as well, like maybe you're vegetarian or you're vegan, or you can only eat halal food or things like that. We definitely make accommodation so.
That's just something I think that's really cool that we do at UC Davis to make sure all of our students are taken care of.
So once you have decided to Sirf 2 Davis, you will then start your three part orientation process. So the first part of it is going to be ID 101, so that's learning all about UC Davis. What resources we have the requirement in the community, right? I think it's really important to find out if Davis is going to be the right fit for you and so that's what AGI 101 is going to be all about. After that Aggie advising happens over the summer where you meet with an advisor from your college and then they work with you on how to build a fall quarter schedule.
And also register for classes.
You'll have an online appointment with them and then you'll have a chance to directly register for your first classes as well. All students will be given a pass time.
Michael Ortmann
06:10:43 PM
How many people/bedrooms share these common areas normally?
Then the in mid September mid September is when you would move into your campus home and then complete several days of in person orientation and welcome activity. So obviously providing that everything is going to be better.
Orientation is hopefully going to be in person.
So fall classes also start September 22nd, so please put that in your calendar. We can't wait to see you guys on campus.
Jackie Nguyen
06:11:37 PM
@michael, it would depend on your application reference. You can apply for your own spot or roommates. once you SIR, the housing application will be available for you and it's due on June 4
OK so some important dates to remember so late April decisions were released for our transfer, students May 4th through the 8th is Aggie Experience Live and today is may the fourth be with you. I know I had to throw that corny joke right there. June 1st is the deadline to submit your Sir and then also be sure to check all of your enrollment related tasks. In my admissions June 4th is the deadline to apply for student housing July 1st. To send your official transcripts.
And then July 15th is your deadline to send official test scores. So the one thing I do want to say is that July 1st, with those official transcripts. I know a lot of you might have the question of.
Cristian Ayala Urbano
06:12:03 PM
When are we able to get Advising if we want to take classes for summer quarter even if we are transferring in the fall?
Jackie Nguyen
06:12:16 PM
@Cristian, summer at UCD? or summer at your CC?
UCD - Michelle L.
06:12:17 PM
@ Michael great question! There are double and single occupancy apartment styles, as well as single-occupancy studio apartments. Check out this website to learn more: https://housing.ucdavis.edu/apartments/the-green/
Our high school transcripts required, so we for some students we do require high school transcripts, but for the majority is that they are recommended but not required. The reason why it might be beneficial for you to go ahead and submit your high school transcripts is so that you have sometimes the classes that you took in high school. So like a foreign language or think or U.S. history or something like that that can satisfy some of our requirements at UC Davis and then also we can go ahead and post your high school graduation date.
At your on your official UC Davis transcript.
Cristian Ayala Urbano
06:12:36 PM

Cameron Ghaznavi
06:12:52 PM
Do i need to send official high school test scores as a transfer?
So this is what this screen will look like for you once you log into my admissions and also my my awards for your financial aid. So if you say yes, yes to UC Davis, you would go ahead and click and say I accept your offer and then there's going to be some information about the non transparent non refundable $250 deposit. And then if you are still deciding maybe you got into various campuses or you're just really not sure yet.
There's a bunch of different resources we have available through my admissions where you could just find out cool stuff that we have on campus.
Alright, so before we get to.
Michael Ortmann
06:13:26 PM
So if I apply for a single occupancy apartment, I would end up with my own kitchen essentially?
The questions will go ahead and do is also just provide the next couple of days worth of schedules. So just make sure if you want to learn more about UC Davis still deciding, or maybe you've already sirp to us and you just want to learn more. We have a bunch of different events this entire week to make sure that you know exactly what you see. Davis is all about, OK, so.
With that I'm going to go ahead and start answering some questions.
Sergio Munoz
06:13:47 PM
How much are parking passes?
Jackie Nguyen
06:13:53 PM
@Cristian, if you're taking classes during the summer at UCD before you officially start in Fall, you will have to register through summer session and here is the contact list if you have questions but they do not do advising https://summer-sessions.ucdavis.edu/staff
Gre Yu
06:14:05 PM
Sorry for a specific question, but I am an incoming transfer for Molecular and Medical Microbiology. This semester's been rough, and I fear that I will receive a C in Organic Chemistry. Will that have any effect on my admission decision? Will this also negatively impact my graduate school applications?
Maritza Gonzalez
06:14:15 PM
@Cameron we request a high school record as a standard for transfer students to verify your HS graduation date, because it's posted on your UCD transcript. It's not required however, so if you don't have it, you can just let us know via a MyAdmissions update. However, please note that your UCD record will show 'no HS grad' if you do not submit HS graduation document.
UCD - Michelle L.
06:14:17 PM
@ Michael here is a link to the apartment floor plans, but to answer your question, yes! https://housing.ucdavis.edu/apartments/the-green/apartment-models/
So Cameron, the official high school transcript test scores, yes, so if you have AP test scores or IB or anything like that, you would need to go ahead and send those into us because they are college credit SCT SCT, you don't need to worry about that. We don't require that for transfer students and no longer freshman students anyway. But yeah, API be anything like that. You would need to go ahead and submit. So if you took those along time ago and you think that they might be archived, it's a good idea now to go ahead.
And request for those through College Board.
Alright, so you see that yeah, Maritza Michelle.
They're answering some questions.
UCD - Ally A.
06:14:54 PM
@Sergio Here is a link to the website with parking information: https://taps.ucdavis.edu/parking/permit

Is it possible to switch into psych b.s. from a psych b.a.? I don't currently have physics or the rest of chem.
Let's see, I think as people as my chat support are there, approving questions, I think they're going to answer them in the chat. So if you see your question and it's been there.
Kendall Manis
06:15:01 PM
Is it possible to change majors or add a minor as a transfer student?
Just someone will go ahead and answer that question for you.
Tina Lagerblad
06:15:18 PM
How are roommates assigned in the Green?
OK, I think this is a really great question that I wanted to go ahead and address for the good of the group. Which is, is it possible to change majors or add a minor as a transfer student and so Kendall that is an excellent question. Yes, it is definitely possible to change majors provided that you complete one successful quarter at UC at UC Davis and then also completing any required classes that might be required for the major that you are considering changing to.
Jackie Nguyen
06:15:45 PM
@Victoria, during the orientation you will meet with your major advisor and during that time you will let them know that you're interested in the BS route, not AB
Adding a minor also is definitely possible. We have so many different minors as well, so if that is something that you're interested in, whether it is changing your major or adding a minor is to work with your advisor at your college and they can definitely help you plan so that you're taking the appropriate classes and then also finding a good workload for you.
Sergio Munoz
06:15:59 PM
Thank you @Ally
Jackie Nguyen
06:16:00 PM
But before they approve it, they will check your record to see if you completed those classes
Cristian Ayala Urbano
06:16:05 PM
Where do we go to register for summer sessions?
Jackie Nguyen
06:16:19 PM
@cristian https://summer-sessions.ucdavis.edu/
OK, so how are roommates assigned? That is a great question. So for roommates you can go ahead and submit a roommate request form.
You decide not to request any specific roommates. Then you would be placed based on some assessments that they ask you like. You know your preferences, that kind of stuff like cleanliness for preferences or things like that. So that would be how roommates would be randomly assigned to you. But again, if you have an idea of who you want to live with, you can definitely send in that roommate requesting you would just want to make sure that your roommate also put your name there as well.
Sumeer Malik
06:17:01 PM
At least how many units shall we take for students who are transitioning into the quarter system? Thank you! :)
Tina Lagerblad
06:17:32 PM
Do transfers typically opt to get a meal plan?
Ella Lam
06:17:38 PM
http://housing.ucdavis.edu/
And I definitely recommend for folks who have questions about financial aid, like specifics about your particular situation is to financial aid or for housing is to go to their websites because these are questions that we get every single year and their website has a lot of different resources in common questions that they get. So definitely a good idea to check out those websites and I can go ahead and put post those.
For you guys in the chat as well.
So there is the link for housing.
Ella Lam
06:17:55 PM

Maritza Gonzalez
06:17:56 PM
@Tina on campus housing plans are room & board plans, so you must choose a meal plan.
Alcuin Mowrer
06:18:05 PM
I’m currently set to transfer as an Economics major, but I am not sure I’ll be able to get a C in Calculus 2.
My GPA would still be above 3.2 even with a D and my backup major was in History. Could I transfer as a history Major? Or could I take a Calculus 2 course over the summer and get a better score to transfer as an Economics Major?
Tina Lagerblad
06:18:10 PM
Can meal plans be added mid-year or do you have to decide at the beginning of the school year?
Kendall Manis
06:18:22 PM
Are the transfer apartments within walking distance of campus, or should we find other forms of transportation?
UCD - Ally A.
06:18:23 PM
@Sumeer In order to be a full-time student, you have to take 12 units per quarter. It is recommended to average 13-14 (or more) per quarter, but students typically take a smaller number their first quarter because the transition to quarters can be a bit tricky
Cameron Ghaznavi
06:18:32 PM
Does the high school transcript have to be an official transcript?
Jackie Nguyen
06:18:42 PM
@Alcuin, you should contact Ella (she's your TOP coordinator for your CC). so you plan it out
So Cameron does the high school transcripts have to be an official transcript, yes.
Maritza Gonzalez
06:18:53 PM
@tina you must choose a meal plan when you apply for housing and accept a housing offer, but I believe you can change it if needed at the end of each term if you want to change it to a different plan
It has to be an official transcript for us to recognize. It also has to be sealed if it's been awhile since you've been in high school and you're you know, maybe your high school no longer has your records or anything. I believe you can contact your school district and get those records.
UCD - Michelle L.
06:19:03 PM
@ Kendall the Green at West Village is super close to campus! Many students walk or bike, but there is also a Unitrans bus line at the Green where you can take the bus on campus and around Davis
Sergio Munoz
06:19:22 PM
For conditions of admission it states that you must get a 2.8 GPA at least for your last semester but are all classes considered for this GPA? For example, I currently am taking a WRKS 95 course which gives me units for work but I am unsure if this course is transferable and therefore I am unsure if it will count towards the GPA
Yeah, I'll come in. I would. Sorry if I said your name incorrectly, but I would definitely encourage you to email me so we can kind of formulate a game plan regarding your specific situation.
Tina Lagerblad
06:20:04 PM
How many transfer students typically live on campus vs. off campus?
So for I always have trouble seeing this word. I don't know why, but immunity immunizations. Is there a resource to help explain how to gather and submit them and how to get any missing immunizations if necessary so we do have a new link that you can go ahead and take a look at for the.
Ella Lam
06:20:12 PM
https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/new-students
I'm just going to say shots were the shots that you need to get. This information is also available through my admissions as well, but if you had any specific questions on how to get those missing shots that you need, the website that we posted will definitely be able to help you get any resources on where to get those shots.
Jackie Nguyen
06:20:53 PM
Sergio, you can go to assist.org, click on UC transferable course. Or you can always look at your school catalog when you register for the class and if you see UC indication on it then it's transferrable
Ali Dehghani
06:21:03 PM
When is the deadline for scc to send our IGETC certification to UCD undergrad admissions?
Jackie Nguyen
06:21:38 PM
@Ali, no official deadline bc not all transfer students do IGETC. but I would say by july 1st is a good time to send it over
UCD - Michelle L.
06:21:41 PM
@ Tina, while I don't know specific numbers, many transfer students live on-campus. The Green at West Village is strictly for transfer student housing, so if you want to be surrounded by similar transfer students, it's a great place to check out. In regards to off-campus housing, there are many FaceBook groups you can join where people are always posting if they need a new roommate or are looking for people to sublease their apartment.
Alright, so from Robbie, if I take summer classes in Community College will that transfer the credit to the UC? Yes, so that is a great question. Your summer classes will transfer to UC Davis if you decide to take any summer classes, what's going to happen is that after you have your official grades for their summer courses, you'll have to send us an official copy of your transcript from your Community College and then to which we can add that at the back end on to your UC Davis transcript.
Just know that any summer classes that you decide to take are not going to be used for admission purposes, so you don't need to worry about that like affecting your admissions too much. Just make sure to submit your official transcripts to us.
Giselle Salgado- Ledesma
06:21:59 PM
Will double rooms be available at the Green, regardless of COVID?
Jackie Nguyen
06:22:04 PM
unless you take classes over the summer to finish those classes, then you can send it as soon as it is certified.
Cameron Ghaznavi
06:22:27 PM
Where do I send the official transcripts to?
My chat support. They're doing such a great job answering all these questions. There's not a lot for me to say a talk about out loud.
Maritza Gonzalez
06:22:45 PM
@Giselle the current covid guidelines allow us to house doubles, so yes, there will be doubles at the current CDC guidelines for our county.
Tina Lagerblad
06:22:51 PM
How safe is campus at night? Are there good safety resources available on campus?
Sandy Xiong
06:23:09 PM
@Cameron sending transcripts to UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions.
Where do I send official transcripts to so you are going to be sending official transcripts over to undergraduate admissions? And when I'm going to go ahead and do is grab you that address another resource is to submit those transcripts electronically online, which will also go ahead and post for you.
Here so one second let me pull that information up for you.

Are the forms/documents that I'm still required to submit on MyAdmissions?
Ella Lam
06:24:05 PM
Via US Postal Service sent directly from your school, college or university in a sealed institutional envelope to: Undergraduate Admissions, University of California, One Shields Avenue, Davis, CA 95616-8507.
The information is also on the website as well, but if you decide to send a paper copy, maybe your Community College only offers that, then you can send that to us via snail Mail. That is a thing as well.
Alcuin Mowrer
06:24:21 PM
For some reason I was under the impression that my 3 credit Track and Field course was not going to give me any credits for UC Davis but when I looked at my MyAdmissions page I saw that my 3 credit Track and Field course was listed there. Will I get credits for this at UC Davis?
Cristian Ayala Urbano
06:24:33 PM
What is the website to offically register to summer sessions 1
Alright, so another question that we have is how safe is campus at night? Are there good safety resources available on campus so for UC Davis? I would say given that we are a college town, we are. We tend to be, you know, on the safer side, Davis is known to be a very very safe city as well. Obviously with any place that you're at at night time you just want to be more aware.
UCD - Michelle L.
06:25:04 PM
@ Tina the UC Davis campus is pretty safe at night, and there are many resources available if you ever do feel unsafe. Personally, as a freshman, I felt very comfortable walking around at night with my friends. Here is a link to the safety resources at Davis (because there are a lot!) https://www.ucdavis.edu/about/wellness-safety
Of of any environment that you're in, I would say just practicing. You know your typical safety protocols, right? We have a lot of different safety services that are available on campus, So what will go ahead and do is also.
Maritza Gonzalez
06:25:06 PM
@Michael Your required documents are listed on MyAdmisisons, specifically on your Admissions Contract. If you SIR, you will also get a checklist on MyAdmissions that will show your required documents and we will check them off as we receive them.

Kendall Manis
06:25:27 PM
Are there any social events that are specifically for transfer students? Or any way for us to meet each other in person?
We have the warn me alert service, which I would highly encourage our students to sign up for, because this gives you an alert via email or via your via text message to let you know anything that's going on on campus.
Ella Lam

06:25:51 PM
@Alcuin, yes you would receive credit if the course was UC transferable.
Jackie Nguyen
06:26:09 PM
@Sergio, for eligibility, it stops at spring 2021 for admission but sometimes students take graduation classes for their major to get ahead and they can do that as long as they are not selective majors and or required for admission.
UCD - Ally A.
06:26:33 PM
@Kendall The Transfer and Reentry Center has great resources for connecting with fellow transfer students. If you choose to live in the Green, many of your neighbors will also be transfer students, so you will have the chance to meet each other that way, too!
Yingzi Ye
06:27:02 PM

Robanjeet Singh
06:27:14 PM
If I take summer classes in community college will that transfer the credit to UC?
OK, so if I take summer classes at Community College without transfer the credit, I believe I answered that earlier. But yes, if you take summer classes, it will transfer as long as it's UC transferable. So you'll just want to make sure through assist.org if it pops up then it is. You see transferable where you're going to go ahead and do. Submit your official transcripts to us so that we can add that credit on the back end.
Jackie Nguyen
06:27:27 PM

How easy is it to get a parking spot/permit at the Green?
Sandy Xiong
06:27:53 PM
@Alcuin Assist.org
Right, Tina has a question, how easy it is it to get a parking spot slash permit at the green? So that would be a question I would probably ask the green on their website. It does say that parking is an additional cost, so its availability is not guaranteed. So obviously the earlier that you submit your application, the higher chance that you have a beginning a parking spot. But I would definitely encourage for you to contact the green and find more information that way.

How full is The Green expected to be this fall?
OK, great, so you have a question about your incoming transfer for molecular and medical microbiology. This semester's been rough. You and you think that you might be getting a C in organic chemistry. So for any students, if your major is selective and you're not sure if that class is going to affect you, I think from molecular and medical microbiology okm is not required.
Sandy Xiong
06:29:13 PM
@Alcuin once on the website, you will need to select your community college.
What causes the classes that you need? It would be the Calc series, the Chem series, and the Bio series. So Kim and you get to see. As long as your GPA maintains above a 2.8, you're going to be fine. 'cause okm is not required for admissions.
In terms of it negatively impacting your Graduate School applications, that's not really for us to say because you know we're in undergraduate admissions, so that might be something that you want to ask. Any graduate schools that you're interested in?
UCD - Ally A.
06:29:31 PM
@Nav Students often take these at different times depending on their personal timeline (e.g. whether they want to take a gap year before grad school). I would recommend meeting with an advisor through Health Professions advising to figure out what time will work best for you

Is the Green exclusively for transfer students?
So Kendall you have a question, is the green exclusively for transfer students? Yes, our transfer student population is about 1005 students. But yes, this is a living facility primarily for our transfer students.
And so the different types of bedrooms that they have available are single and double and then also studio apartments too, if that's something you're interested in.

Alright, thanks Sandy for posting the link about transfer apartments.
OK, so while we wait for some more questions to come in, I'm going to pull up our events for tomorrow, which is our transfer support. So let me see if I can go ahead and share my screen. I'm only working from one screen right now so it's a little.

Alright, so you guys can take a look right here. For Wednesday I thought today was Wednesday for some reason, but you can see all the different events that will have tomorrow.

@Kendall The Green does have studio floorpans. Here is a link to the different floorpans they offer: https://housing.ucdavis.edu/apartments/the-green/apartment-models/
So things to know about financial aid, housing and dining. Since we have so many questions about housing, I think this is going to be a great event for those folks who are interested in learning more about housing and dining orientation and what that's going to look like. Creating your transfer network. That is something that's really, really important for our students is to really build a community. Once you're at UC Davis so that you feel supported.

So now you're saying that you're having trouble accessing the housing portal. You can access the application after you submit your Sr, so not sure if you done that yet. But if you are having any issues, I would probably. I would advise you to contact the housing Department.
If you are having issues with that.

@nav yes we do, if you find the UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions group, you can see a list of all of our related groups, including class year groups
You attended the Trees trade school that has since closed down. How do I go about sending my official transcripts at the school no longer exists, so it would obviously depend on what that school is. If you reported it on your application as well because we need to make sure that it's an accredited trade school.

06:34:22 PM
How do they choose which students get a studio apt?
For the most part, even if the school has closed down, the transcripts are available through another organization. So what I would recommend Melanie is if you could actually email one of us, I'll put. I'll put my email in the chat and then you can go ahead and contact us and let us know so we can take a look, but for the most part we have worked with some schools where the schools are. We've worked with some students where the campuses have closed down.

So Friday you have a question. If you have been selected for verification, the deadline is May 15th. How would we know if we how would we check if we've been selected for verification? So you should be getting an alert through email or through your mind nations portal that you have been selected for verification.

So as long as we haven't received anything stating that we need to send in a verification then we don't necessarily have to do anything right?
Pretty so as long as we haven't received anything stating that we need to send in a verification, then we don't necessarily have to do anything right? Yeah, so if you didn't get anything, that means that you've completed your financial aid. Your FASA FASA application correctly. So don't you worry about that. But definitely check your spam folder. Whichever email address you used to sign up for.
Faster just to make sure that you didn't get anything.

Kendall Manis
06:39:24 PM
When do we start signing up for housing? Is it first come, first serve?
When it comes to providing an academic update through my admissions, what happens is that you can only submit 11 update at this time before we have to process it, and then we have to send you a verification email saying like, oh, you know like congratulations on your spring grades or blah blah blah. So once you have your spring summer grades and you've received that first email from us, if you submitted your spring update, then that's when you can go ahead and submit your summer summer classes as well to us.
When do we start signing up for housing is a first come first serve, so once you submit your sirp, that's when you would be able to.
That's when you would be able to fill out the housing form through my admissions.

06:39:47 PM
@Kendall, you start as soon as you submit your SIR. then housing application is due june 4

Yingzi Ye
06:40:46 PM
Can I enroll in both summer session 1 and session 2?
UCD - Ally A.
06:40:54 PM
@Freddy This will occur as part of orientation, after Aggie Advising. You will get more information on this after you SIR!
Alright, no you have a great question. You're a transfer student into the College of Engineering starting in the fall. Once as soon as that I can get academic advising. And how can I request advising so that's going to be during orientation. So once you submit your SRL, pull up that page again. But for orientation is when you first have to go through Aggie 101 and then you can do your advising with a advisor.
From your college and then they'll work with you on what classes you should go ahead and take.
And that is going to be in the summer. So just be sure that once you sirp that you go ahead and check the deadlines for when orientation can start.

Is Uc Davis requiring students to take the Covid vaccine because I know CSU are requesting students to take the vaccine.
Robanjeet Singh
06:42:55 PM
I'm an Animal biology major wich college do I belong to?
OK is UC Davis requiring students to take the covid vaccine because I know CSU are requesting students to take the vaccine so it is required by students will not be held to any holds for it. And you're also not required to.
Michael Ortmann
06:43:18 PM
@Shreya Sorry, I guess I'm a bit confused. Looking at the models, what do you mean by single sharing vs double sharing rooms?
To provide your vaccine information, however, that information is going to be very important for campus decision making regarding return to in person, instruction, research, and other campus activities. So obviously it is encouraged, but you're not going to have any consequences if you do, you don't take it or you don't report it.
Sandy Xiong
06:43:43 PM
@Robby College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences :)
And it is a UC wide statement to require the vaccine, not just UC Davis. So if you decide to attend another UC campus, just know that it is required.
And if you do decide to report your COVID-19 vaccine, please do that through the healthy messaging portal and then you can go ahead and provide us your vaccination dates and then also which vaccine you ended up getting as well.

@Michael, no problem at all! There are two room occupancies available - single and double. With a single occupancy room, there is only one student in a room. A double occupancy room has two students in one room. I hope that helps!
And then not another thing Carlos regarding the vaccine. If you can't get it ahead of time, you can also get it on campus for free through the Student Health Center when you arrive on campus.

06:45:49 PM

One thing we would also encourages by a student stay updated regarding any campus ready plans. So if you can go through our University of California newsletter, you'll definitely get more information about each of the campuses and what they propose. So, for example, here's one where the UC encouraged the COVID-19 vaccinations, so you can definitely take a look at that and then also, the website has a lot of other interests.
Not not interesting, but important updates for our students who are looking to transfer in for the fall.

06:46:55 PM
@Shreya So the "Single" and "Double" prices listed, are those per person or are they split in some way?
OK, so we have about 3 minutes left.
