As he Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Perfect Korea, Macau, Singapore, Tokyo, oh nice, OK, we have a Taiwan again. OK we have a great group of students with different backgrounds and all that here today. Thank you so much for joining me again. My name from China. Thank you were in China.
Great, thanks for joining me this morning again, my name is San. If you just signed in. I am here to talk to you a little bit more about UC Davis today and also helping you to find the best fit University to start off. I'm going to introduce myself a little bit. My name is Sam Lee. I am from undergrad admissions at UC Davis. I was an international student on the UC Davis campus awhile ago, so I'm an alarm an also work for undergraduate missions. For the last nine years as their international specialist.
An specializing in the China region and limit other parts of Asia. So I've been to all of the countries that you are coming from so I'm very happy to be with you this morning and let's see today we're going to talk a little bit more about you know why student chose UC Davis and also hopefully I know some of you already send in your Internet intended of registration. So you already committed to Davis, but some of your so deciding so I hope after today it will give you a better idea.
Of you know how you should choose and all that. So in the mean time. So for the first 20 minutes, how would talk about you know, all the reasons why people choose UC Davis and try to answer all of your questions that you submit it throughout your registration. And then I'm going to open up for more questions. So please hold all your questions until the end of my presentation.
Alright, let's get started. So here you have my email address. You also probably have gotten an email for me, so if you have any questions after today, you're more than welcome to she mean email. I'll try my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Alright, so I'm here to talk to you a little bit more about five of the most popular reasons why students UC Davis. For me personally, the biggest reason why I chose Davis was the friendliness of the town and the people, so I didn't. You know when I was looking at schools and all that awhile ago, I didn't really think of, you know, like what I was looking for and then once all the decision came out, I actually had to sit down and think about what's important to me. I think about you, know, everything.
Academic fed, financial fed and everything. So I urge you to sit down if you if today you have a lot of choices, that's a great thing, right? Because you have choices, right? So you have to sit down, you know.
To think about why it's important to you. Also talk to your family before we actually get started. I would also like to address this time of uncertainty. I know a lot of you. I mean, everyone in the world this right now is being impacted by a coronavirus Cove at 19th. So I know a lot of you submitted questions to talk about.
Gonna start on time in the fall how what is our responses and things like that. I'll talk about a little bit about our responses and all that throughout the presentation. I also want you to know that at this point we don't know how that is going to impact the visa process and everything, but everyone in our offices are ready to work with whatever the situation is so say if you have any situations that you might have a delay of your transcript or graduation diploma or whatever reason that you have delay.
On your documents on your my emissions account, you can actually share that with us, so you'll be able to tell us.
That you know Why is that your your documents, Adele a wire transfer delayed and will work with you case by case and and also if you need an extension for the registration deadline, you can also write to us again on your my admissions and will work with you and depends on your situation and circumstances are we are human rights so and we're all in this together so we hope that you know that we're trying our best to accommodate and also be flexible as possible as we can. But again you have to reach out to us to let us know your situation because.
Right, so let's dive in five for the most popular reason of why students are choosing UC Davis. So first of all, I know some of you have been to our campus. Not all of you are. Campus is beautiful. We are located in Northern California, so if you can see the map right now, let me know if you have trouble viewing the screen and my slides, or if I am not speaking loud enough to let me know. You can let me know in the chat box I will see it and then. So when you're looking.
At the map, right now we're about an hour and a half away from San Francisco. So many of you might have applied to different UC campuses all throughout California. I encourage you to do more research on different campuses and see what we have to offer for you that if you're interested or not, because a lot of times people are asking like what's the difference between different UC campuses had? Say what makes you see Davis special is that we're the only college town within the UC system. So within the nine campuses undergraduate campuses.
We're the only college town, So what it means is that when you look at the town itself, so this is about right. We're buying a half an hour and a half away from San Francisco. We closer to the state capital, Sacramento. We also close to Napa Valley.
So we you know Lake Tahoe if you're interested in skiing snowboarding. But when you look at the University alot of times that we tested in just look at not just what the University is about. Also look at you know the environment of the town. Where is the population of the town? What type of town is it? So of course Davis is where college town. So what it means is that half of the population of town and Davis are students, so we have about 17,000 people living in Davis right now. More than half of them are actually students, so where college town?
And you can see the map right now that this is the gold part is part of UC Davis campus and the blue part is downtown Davis. So downtown Davis is walkable, distance from the Davis campus. So a lot of times I assume would go in and out, you know, like to campus. And also we have downtown grab coffee graph, boba, you know. Just hang out with friends and all that. We also have a farmers market on Saturday and sometimes on Wednesdays as well so you can find a lot of injuries. And also there are stores that you can.
My groceries from and all that it's really easy to get around.
So here's more pictures of downtown Davis on the bottom left. She was the picture of her farmers market in the summer time, people do picnics there. It's a really nice place to hang out or downtown. Head really, really good selection of different proteins. So you find really international cuisines there any type of Asian food, you name it. We have it and we also have different kind of groceries that you can shop from this fall. If you would like to cook for Yourself is perfectly fine.
Chi-Ting Tsai
10:09:03 AM
Taiwan and good morning
And then on our campus we have the Beautiful Arboretum. If you like the outdoor activities and things like that, it's really beautiful. Arboretum is also actually voted one of the most popular place to nap on our campus. So if you want to take it now, my personal favorite. When I go to the Arboretum is during lunchtime or just bring my sandwich and you will sit out is really usually nice out in Davis we have about 260 five saves. Sunshine so.
Miss really nice to sit out there and there. You'll find different animals out there to get bugs, you know, like sorrows and all that, so that's pretty cool.
Let's see OK and then the second reason why shouldn't choose UC Davis would be the experience. So of course you know many of you applied to UC Davis knowing you know where you see that we could add, you know. Generally speaking, with public research University will talk to public research University and you also know that we're #5 public as public University in the nation. I personally am not a huge fan of rankings so I.
Say, although you seas were great school, you have to find the ones that fit your personality. and I also want to say that ranking this is actually defined if you're going to get a good or a bad education. It depends on you. OK, so regardless off you know the rankings. I think you would have to make the best out of your education and what is available to you and a lot of our students are making the most out of what's available to them. All the resources that I'm going to highlight so.
When you look in our schools, we offered not only you know for science majors or engineering majors, we also have different really unique courses that you can you know. It's fun. It's also hands-on. We have some on the right answer on this picture on the right hand side you would see someone looked like this smelling coffee. They are actually smelling coffee, so this is our mechanic behind coffee class under off College of engineering and on the left hand side would be attractive driving class. So we have classes like that that is for fun and more hands on. If you want to get a wide range of.
Experience that's pretty cool and a lot of you might be considering on top of your education. Also looking for internship and job experience, right? So during undergrad year. We definitely encouraged to get some work experience. We have our internship in Korea, Santa actually place about 10,000 jobs, an internship for our students every year. So when you look at that, this is just a short list of companies that recruit on campus. Are ICC actually put together intention career fairs?
Every quarter for our students, we also specialize ones that offer engineering students and different departments and things like that so you be able to find you know different opportunities throughout. If you're looking for jobs and internships. If you are an international students. Meaning if you need a visa to study in our campus, you are limited to work on campus for no more than 20 hours a week. If you wanted to work off campus, you would have to look for jobs that is relating to your major so it cannot be just something random in terms of on campus jobs.
We have a lot of jobs that you can actually participate on on campus, so you can work at our research labs. You can work at our cafeteria. You can work at a library. You can work as a tour guide. When I was a student, I wasn't orientation leader. I also used to work at the Alumni Association. So you see, Davis is a powerhouse, but it's also powered by students, not only our staff and faculty, so you can find different types of student jobs throughout the campus if you wish to.
Again, the limitation is 20 hours a week. I personally only encourage about 10 to 12 hours because BS June is a full time job, so I definitely think you know you should. On top of your academics you should get some experience, but don't over work yourself.
So of course you know finding a job or internship, it will help to build up your resume and also making some pocket money to help connect.
So other than our intention Career Center, we also have a study abroad center that actually brings you buy 170 different programs through a 40 different countries. So these programs for study abroad is actually.
Right, so when you go to a study of our program, you will be meeting stands from other UC campuses as well.
So Tom buffer study abroad program. We also have a University California Sacramento University of California, Washington DC center. So if you're interested in doing internship and Sacramento or Washington DC, you can actually spend a summer or quarter or semester in RUC sensor over there to actually take some classes while getting experience with plenty of students in turn that different departments of the government. Or, if you're interested in having you know, an internship at one of the museums in Washington, DC, you can actually apply.
To be part of the CDC program. So this is some of the shared resources within the UC school, because when you have to say and study abroad, or you CDC or user Sacramento, you'll be meeting students from all over the place from different you season backgrounds and things like that.
OK, so when you're looking at us, the third biggest reason for our students to actually chase UC Davis is our lifestyle. So our students are pretty healthy and outgoing and they like are, you know, greeneries and things like that. So I told you about Apple. Read 'em. So I think that freedom is like about 3.5 kilometers like you can. Actually you know, walk around or you know, run around if you wish. But you see this is also known as one of the biggest like campus.
I'm by capital in California, so if you Davis is a really large campus, so by school size were actually the largest UC campus, we have 5000 acres of land on our campus. We haven't airport. If you wanted to learn how to find airplane, you can go through aviation club. We have a Conference Center. We have a hotel. We have a Performing Arts Center. We have a lot of things on our campus so but we're really flat campus so our students like to bike around to get from places to places.
So if you're interested in this kind of lifestyle, of course. If you're like me, you're not sure about biking everywhere. You can take the bus if you wish with your student ID, and it will give you access to our buses for free, so our processes call unitrends is operated by UC Davis. As for the city of UC Davis, so it's also our collaboration with our student government with the city of UC Davis. So all the bus drivers on these buses are students. So if you're looking for a job and if we want to learn how to drive a bus.
I'm definitely right. We also have double Decker buses on our campus. I know students from Hong Kong would be familiar with double Decker buses, but not everywhere else, right? So England in Hong Kong there double Decker buses. We definitely have a few on our campus and some of our double Decker buses are actually imported from London. So if you want to learn how to drive one of those, you can definitely apply for that job.
And then our students are really active, so they like to go to the activities and Recreation Center to workout. We have lots of classes, yoga, Pilates, rock climbing, you name it. We also have recreation pool, so if you like the water you can go to the pool. If you wish. We also have a sand volleyball court and things like that. So as soon as he is super active so we have intramural sports. We have club sports. We also have outdoor adventures so if you like to go hiking or snowboarding skiing we have that.
Basketball in the winter time and then we definitely have a lot of animals on our campus. We have horses. We have cows. If you want to learn how to ride horses and things like that, you can also go to arc Russian center. We also have the barn and things like that, so you can definitely interact with our animals if you if you wish to, since we have one of the best centre new medicine program and also animal science program on our campus.
We also care a lot about our student health and Wellness is so other than your physical health we have course we have the student Health Center that you can go see a nurse or doctor if you are sick. We also have a lot of emotional support with like counselors that you can go see on a regular basis and you can make appointment with them. We also have different Wellness programs that you can participate in because to be honest when you are going to college right, many of you, most of you would be away from home. It doesn't matter if you're from.
Asia, it doesn't matter where you from internationally or if you're from California, you're going to be away from home. You're going to be home sick, so we definitely try to help you to navigate that, and also hope that you can do. The lights are resources, especially for your own Wellness is because it's really important to keep up with that, especially for your attention when you go to schools and things like that. That is very important to care of yourself.
So it Davis, we believe that healthy students are happy students him. So we definitely encourage your healthy living style there. Hum if you are interested in learning more about that, we definitely have a lot of programs that can help you with.
With that said, we also have very strong school spirit at Davis, so when you're looking at our school, we are in NCA Division One sports cool, so we have over 20 sports that are NCA Division One. So if you like participating, you definitely can go on, try out on some of the teams. Or if you just like watching games we definitely had that too. So you can go out any games that we have on campus. We can also go try out if you're like. Well, I just want to do sports for fun. I don't really want it. I'm not as competitive then you can definitely do club sports on the Internet.
Sports for fun. We have like Frisbee even have like whitish.
I don't know how it works, but you can definitely look at that. We have lots of sports and activities going on on campus.
As I mentioned that Davis is a college town, the campus is right next to downtown Davis. There's also a lot of things that you can do in downtown hump, you know other than just eat their health in movie theaters, there's different bookstores. There's places to hang out, so it's really beautiful town. I love walking through downtown and just running into people that I know, because we have such a great community here at data.
One of the things that I really enjoy about Davis is the people in the community, and I think if you ask any of our current students like whatever they enjoying the most about UC Davis, it would be a community with people. It would friendliness. We have the student Community Center definitely providing a lot of support to our students and then on top of that we also have academic support. So if you're looking for like tutorial center and things like that we definitely would have that support if you are.
Good as certain subject. If you have taken the classes you can also sign up to be a tutor if you wish. That's also a student job.
And you can also see this map. You will see different type of communities that we have on our campus. This is just a short list of communities that we have on our campus. We also have the service for international students and scholars that take care so far, feces and a lot of programming's. And then we also have different initiatives. Different centers that you can go and learn about different resources. I want to say that as a public school, as a research University were a big school, but we also have a lot of resources for she is.
We hope that you know once you come to our campus, you can take initiative and go learn about our different programs. I don't know if any of you are interested in pre Med or pre health, so if you're looking, say, finishing undergrad and go for a further degree, we always consider that we have one of the best pre health advising Center. So if you're interested in pre health advising if you're pre Med prevent all those we have to pre health advising center that helps students to prepare for a medical school or prepare for dental school. Prepare for.
On Physical Therapy Program, or if you're interested in, you know different kind of health relating program. We also have graduates graduate studies, so if you're interested in any other graduate programs, you can go talk tonight. Visors and things like that. We have so many resources on campus, so I would say you know, definitely take advantage of it.
One of those questions that you all asking is about housing. So for first year students your housing is guaranteed so you can live on campus. If you wish to on the first year she will be living in Residence Hall. It would be usually the most of the rooms are double or triple. You can request for a single room if you were still we will do our best to actually accommodate with that. So say you have a friend that you're going to Davis with and you want to be roommates. You can definitely do that, but you do have the request.
Each other they be a roommate and also your housing preference would have to be the same so you have to pick, you know, different preferences and things like that. Or if you are on a WhatsApp Group and you found people that you met, you know that you're both going to Davis and you wanted to be remain. You can definitely do that as well, so we have different social media that helps you to find, you know, identify your future roommates in that sense.
OK, so if you have if you already sent yesterday this when you see the housing application we also ask you if you want to. You know be on the living learning community so there's different interests that you can. You know engineering, global engagement, business leaders, or immediately our performance with different themes for our residents. Also, if you are interested in, you know, living with people have the same interests or same passion as you. Definitely you know. Join our living learning community if you're like, well, I don't really care.
But I have these preferences. Then again will work. Will try our best to work with you or housing office would do their best to work with you to fit your preferences.
And then OK, so and then where you also need your future community is also orientations. So as planet we in September we have our on campus orientation for everyone. So our domestic Fusion shouldn't from out of state are seen from internationally. We have one orientation for everyone. Of course. Again we will have to see what is happening with cover 19 if that's going to impact.
That as well so, but will keep you all posted.
So, uhm, so when you are looking at, you know our schools there are so many things that we have to offer. I want to say that if you're looking for a vibrant college tone, strong sense of community type of schools that were definitely your school I hope that you know that kind of gives you a glimpse of what Davis is about. I'm going to share a little more so in my next few slides you might want to have your phone ready because there's going to be some that line if you are not under WhatsApp Group, I'm going to show a QR code. So if you want to get your phone ready now.
OK, so um, once we go to this field slides, I'm going to start answering some questions that you can put in more questions. If you have more. So some important dates to remember, so of course March decision already came out and then this week we actually have our Aggie live experience, anger experience lives happening so there's going to be different departments talking about her remains our resources so you can definitely meet our Department different departments online if you wish to. It's a really cool events that we do with virtually.
And then by May 1st you would have to design if you're coming to UC Davis, or if you go into another you see or another University general speaking May 1st is today. If you like. I said if you need an extension, hum, definitely, you know, ask for an extension on my emissions. Take a look at all the enrollment related task under my emissions account. So is my emissions.edu. I know many of you knows your password and lock it all that if some of you do not know that I encourage you to look into that because it's very important.
On to check all your missions and Roman task.
And I'm a success today that through that line to apply for student housing and then July 1st and July 1500 that lines for test scores and as well as transcripts. Like I said, You know if you have any difficulty 'cause I know some of the schools are gonna be closed indefinitely. If you have any difficulty.
You know submitting it transcripts or it has scores and things like that definitely let us know. And then September 25th. The 29th is our intention. Orientation is also optional like our housing. You're not required to live on campus over 90% of our freshman do. We also allows you to participate in orientation. Orientation is not requirement. But it's kind of a campus expectations so I would definitely encouraged to do so.
And then on my next slide, if you haven't joined our WhatsApp Group, there is the big international WhatsApp group that everyone's there. We also have a smaller East Asia Group. Usually the smaller group is not as active as the big one. The smaller one is usually you soon used for if they are departing from the same country or the same places that they want to look for. Someone who write with and or if you have questions to ask off of the groups they were going to be. I'm in both of the groups and also my my colleagues are all in both of the groups. So if you have any questions about.
Things or concerns, or you know, wanted to address. We're happy to help you out over there if you have more of like, you know, test scores and things like that. Those questions don't do wats up email or talk to Austin from your mission like my emissions account will be the best.
OK, hope you're all done with its page. Next would be more social media, so if you're on Instagram, which I know a lot of you are. UC Davis. UC Davis dot life. UC Davis admissions is also our Instagram handlers. And then if you are Facebook, if you want to join the freshman groups and we also on Twitter and then on the right hand side there is my we chat account so I have a few recharge group setup for incoming students or an also parents. So if you have any parents want to join?
We check group definitely do that. Have you guys can add me on we chat and you have to tell me your name and your student ID. Please don't share my we chat with like other people because I mean I get a lot of messages every day and I want to make sure that I'm servicing our incoming and also our current students that you see gave us so you can add me on we chat if you want to be on our new student group for this coming here I'll be in both of the groups a lot of times I'll see them with the asking questions and we have two groups. Like I said we have a parents group. We also have a student group.
Or we chat. So if you wanted to go in there and just add me and then at one side prove it, just let me know that whichever groups you want to get in and then you can you feel free to share this with your parents as well. I have a lot of parents on my we chat.
Mentally, do that, and let's see over the last link I want to talk about would be the campus virtual tour, so I know some of you asked about campus map. So and many of you haven't been on our campus. I definitely encouraged to join us for Virtual Tour to take a look at what the campuses look like, know what you signed up for. I think it's very important that you do your research to know what you signed up for before before you actually committed to your school or any school is very important on the virtual tour on this link, you will actually be able to see.
Campus map, so I think some of you asked for a campus map is also on there OK?
I hope that you got it all down.
I am going to address some of the questions that you have submitted on your registration. In the mean time, you can also type it in in the chat if you have additional questions or if you feel like your question is simply addressed for free to do so. So I'm going to move on to answering to some of your questions.
Tina Gupta
10:29:14 AM
is this session being recorded?
Oh first questions. Is this session being recorded? Yes, this session is being recorded, so you can actually play back if you wish to, yes.
OK, one of the questions that student asked on the registration. Its financial aid, is there an appeal process to getting financial aid? And how does lonworks, calfresh and work study? So I'm assuming student who asked this 'cause I can't tell who asked what questions, so I'm just going to answer in general. So if you're an international students, none of this applies to you. OK, financial aid loans calfresh work study because these are all four are American citizens.
And with financial aid you would have to work with our financial aid office to figure out the financial aid detail. I believe the financial aid packages for Rus citizens are coming out soon, so keep an eye on you.
My emissions account and then you can work with financial aid because the image in office we don't have any control over financial aid and then with loans. I know some of your concern about loans. Again loans is only available for domestic students are you are students.
And I know there's a questions about why are so many Horror Story about student loans. Is there a specific reason I want to say again, you know, getting alone is that you have to know what kind of plan your on. And sometimes people don't recognize. You know, like what they can afford an how do they pay back and things like that. So whatever alone or grants that you awarded, I would definitely say work with your family. Talk to your parents and you can about it and make sure you understand what that means and all that before you actually except.
OK, and then again calfresh and work study. I do not have much knowledge on that. You would have to talk to financial aid and I know we have a lot of jobs that first instead our work studies relating so you can actually look at that. Our intention, Career Center.
And when will scholarship and financial aid offers to be sent out? So if you got a scholarship as an international student, you would have already been notified on your mind missions when we release our mission decisions again, financial aid is only for US students, American citizens. So if you're an international students, financial aid does not apply to you scholarship wise. So we actually have that.
We actually have that already package with your hand missions decisions. There is a follow-up questions. This is something your mission discussion mean. You also accepting the financial decision fully. So once you are looking at once, you see a financial aid package you will be able to see again. You would have to work with the financial aid office to workout the details if you want to. If you need to look at it again at number of UN or update it, you will have to work with financial aid office directly.
I'm sorry I don't have much information on that.
OK, so next questions. I'm ready talk a little bit about housing uhm, oh classes, so and majors. So if you are in let's see other foreign language classes. We can take a Davis regardless of major. Yes we have so many different languages that you can learn it. You see data, so if you take a look at our major list you will be able to see what it is I'm going to send you.
So we have so many even within our major list.
We have a lot of different language within Earth.
Claritin science, called your letters and science, so you can definitely.
San Lee
10:32:57 AM
https://www.ucdavis.edu/majors/
The see you all here. OK, so here's a list of majors you can take a look so within that you also be able to see what languages is available and things like that. You can definitely take advantage of.
If you are an undeclared students in a college, is it possible to switch fields within the college? You can switch fields within the college or outside of the college. So say if your computer science major, if you want to switch to history or you want to switch to.
You know, for science or nutrition or whatever they are. Work with that iserson different colleges to figure out a plan to switch. You cannot change your major right now. You can only change your major after you come to our school, at least for 1/4 and some majors required longer time they require you to take certain classes before you can switch or achieve a certain GPA. So it varies, right? But I want to say most of the majors is. You can change it if you wish. If you want to double major if you want to have double minors or things like that.
Again, it's the same thing. Talk to an advisor. Make sure you you know on top of your classes or just are for the right classes that you need and things like that to actually be able to switch.
If you're switching from one undeclared to another undeclared, I want to say.
I see as much case from one declared to another and declare. You're more likely after your first year after you take in general education classes. You'll be able to figure out which area you interested in, so I say there's not much difference between under Claire Fine Arts or declare social science. If you wish. I think one do switching. You might as well switch it to a major that you interested in after taking a few classes.
If you want to switch from chemistry to bio Cam, definitely talk to the Biochem advisor and then they will help you to figure out what causes you, take what GPA you need to achieve before you actually switch.
OK, campus life and what is typical day like it recieves? How are international students adjusting the culture? Great question. So I would say a lot of our students do have different activities so you know throughout the day you have class. Some of them would have like internships or jobs or we have 800 student clubs. I totally forgot to mention. So Davis we have 800 student clubs, so anything you're interested in any clubs, activities or sports you interested in. We definitely have the resources for you at the space for you.
We also have very strong student government, so if you're interested in joining us tonight, government action government actually looked. It's have a really big budget that they are overlooking, so if you're interested in helping to make policies and things like that for us to get this definitely. But this finish during government a typical day, I think is really Pence. Some students because you make up your own schedule, right? So it depends on how you make your day look like. So if your morning person at a register for morning classes or if you know as much as a morning person, then you can make your own schedule.
Of course, as a freshman, when you first come down our campus, you might be classes you know selection might be a little more limited because you are going to be the last to choose classes, right? But when you think about it, when you go on to be a sophomore or junior or senior when you have more units, you have everything registration so it will be easier to get into the classes you wish. So maybe the first year, your classes or your schedule may not look as you know as you want, but when I was a junior and senior I I remember you know they look at all the classes I want to make my own schedule.
I personally I like my schedule to be Monday through Thursday. I have classes and then Friday it would just be work. So I would have like work maybe 2 three days every week and then also participate different clubs and activities and then Friday to Sunday. I just kind of use it to study or relax or you know or go to the Bay Area. Things like that. So I would say it really varies on student how much you commit on a typical day. But I say our students generally raise active fan. They're kind of occupy themselves with different kind of activities.
Um, things to do around campus so already come kind of mentioned about our different activities are out the adventures. If you want to do so.
Sorry, I kind of look through the questions.
Um, how easy or hard is it for someone from big international cities? I know a lot of you are from big international cities and this webinar. I personally so I grew up in Hong Kong. I was born and raised in Hong Kong and going to Davis was definitely a different experience, but I always wish to go through University to actually has a, you know, like a campus that has everything in there, an community. So that's what that's what I was looking for.
I actually so in beginning I was like, OK, I guess I really like the people being friendly and all that. I wasn't sure about living in town like gave us because it's so different than Hong Kong or any international cities. So I personally really enjoy it. I fell in love after 1/4 with a campus just the nature and everything in the front line is that I wouldn't say we experience much that in Asia because we're more individual. I feel like in Asia but when I went to Davis I remember people just like keep saying hi to you.
Morning and then I would have the same collect. do I know them like you know why they saying hi to me? But that's just kind of get a culture in Davis and I wouldn't say that's the same for every cities in California or in the US. 'cause If you've been in the US or if you are in the US like I wouldn't say that's like in every city.
Um, so I would say it takes a little adjustment, but I think once you found your routine you'll be fine.
Let's see, oh OK, there's a questions about alumni success after graduation, so we do have. Let's see I want to say a lot of students do go on to graduate schools or professional degrees. So as you probably know, we also have six professional schools are self including, an MBA school or Med school Batman or so about. Let's see I want to say over 80% students who would decide to go in Graduate School with the UC Davis agreed.
They are able to get into the top three professional school Graduate School, so they're looking into so definitely we have their quality.
We have the quality of the you know, education.
OK, so next question, so let's see. Oh I am. I said I was going to talk a little bit about what we're doing at UC Davis during 19. So during over 19 would happen with we actually for our winter quarter, we actually change all our finals online and also for spring quarter. We are currently.
We actually just sort of spring quarter this last week. We having all the classes online for the summer. We don't know yet how summer is going to look like for us, but we're working on it and see if it needs to go online. So we're still preparing for the fall and things like that. So if some of you may know you save us, we do have a Medical Center which is located in Sacramento. A facility actually took care of the first community outbreak, patient.
In California, so that patient actually were able to, you know, leave the hospital Ann living healthy, healthy now so they are actually recovered.
So I would say we have a good quality of hospital and medical care on within. You know our reach for students who needed help or people in the help. So the first question is a committee member, if not someone that affiliated to UC Davis.
Uhm, and then our our professors. Not only they are required to teach classes online, they also have office hours online and things like that. So we definitely try to be supportive for students and all the colleges or the advisors. Everything moved online so students can actually, you know, do a session with their advisors or the counselors online. Right now our current students.
And we don't have any information regarding the Visa and all that because we do not control that when you're looking at, you know like we know that there are some countries that have shut down all their mailing service. We also know that all the counselors are closed right now, so soon boredom be able to get your visa if you need to right now. But we don't know how things are going to change in a few months, so we also keep all our students posted.
When we learn more about it as we go.
Um, someone students has about mental health support. I already mentioned that we have a lot of you know, mental health support and Wellness programs are campus. We definitely encourage that. And also, if you have any home situation that you need to workout with, definitely talk to a counselor advisor and we'll do our best to help. I'm not sure particularly what the situation is.
And then for your family contact information. If you don't want to fill it out again, it really depends on where it is. And also, um.
If information is required, so if they're not, then your choice. If you need to fill it out or not.
OK, I think that's pretty much all the list of questions that I have from registration. I'm not sure if I missed it. Any if you have any questions now you're more than welcome to.
Then I will go through it.

Thanks for your answer!
OK, I am not seeing any questions unless someone is typing. I'm gonna wait for a little bit more.
Oh, I'm sorry. I missed one questions about the on campus apartments. So for students who come in as a first year, you will be living in residence Hall instead of the apartments. Apartments are generally for transfer students so, but you can request. I'm sure for the colleges of rule, they are actually not part of campus.
Let's see, I'm trying to think I can't remember if they're part of campus housing or not I know they have a different management, but I don't think campus. I'm sorry college. The College is, the rule is going to be available for freshman to sign up for.
Alright, so I don't see any further questions coming in. Thank you so much for joining me this morning. Again, you all have my contact information. If you have more questions, you're more than welcome to email me. You would send me, which had me you know what if I may. I hope that after the day you're able to, you know figure out you know what's your.
