OK so hi everyone, welcome to the second day of Aggie Experience Live. We are so glad to have you here with us today. My name is Sandy Jean and I am an admissions advisor for UC Davis undergraduate and this should. OK so I've been joined here today by my colleague Vince Ramos and so thank you Vince for being here today. Would you like to give a little quick introduction of yourself?
Mitsuko Leonard
04:02:35 PM
@Emma, yup! we'll be posting them later!
Sure, my name is Vince Ramos Financial aid Officer here at UC Davis. Super excited for all of you during this time. I know you guys have worked really hard to be here and it's just awesome. Hey Virtual high 5.
Crystal Choi
04:02:51 PM
i can't hear you...am i the only one?
Thank you Vince for that introduction, and so I do before we move on forward. I do want to go over just some quick housekeeping items and so if you.

To use close captioning, just know that your top right there's this logo, the CC. Feel free to use it. Very helpful, right? This session is also being recorded too, so I know me to go. Did add on there that we will be posting them up and you can also find them on the Aggie Experience, Live landing page, 2O case of the session, something else. Keep in mind is that we do have Staffs and for financial aid and also admissions monitoring the QA chat and so. Please feel free to.
Chuck any financial aid related questions in and they will throughout the session, right? They would.
Crystal Choi
04:03:54 PM
now i can hear. thanks
Love to assist and answer your questions for you. If we do have some time later on, we Vince could definitely also answer some questions like as well too. And so keep those questions coming right and so Vince. I'm passing the baton to you so it's all yours.
Alright great thanks Sandy.
Mitsuko Leonard
04:04:00 PM
Yay!
So my name again is Vince Ramos and I'm just really excited to be able to provide you students with some useful financial aid information. So today we're going to have some topics and we call our topics the flow of our presentations. So flow of our presentation is going to be. We're going to talk about the different types of financial aid that are available. We're going to talk about your personalized financial aid package. It's the system that we used to show you, your financial aid, and it's called my awards.
We're going to talk about privacy policies, so something like FERPA and we're going to talk a little bit about scholarships will discuss some appeals that are out there that you might be that you just want to make sure that you know of. We're going to mention important dates and some online resources.
So going with important dates, one of the most important things that everyone should have done by now it's filed their financial aid application. You're always going to want to do this each year prior to March 2nd. March 2nd is the party filing date for all four year colleges in California, so you want to make sure that you file that on time. That way you're not missing out on any type of financial aid that you may have been eligible for.
I'm gonna give you a helpful tip.
My tip is that you make sure to do it so this fall when you get to school.
Aimee Etheridge
04:05:51 PM
Is that the FAFSA form?
Eventually the application comes out October 1st. There's no reason to do it on October 1st. You can if you want to, but you focus on school first, but during winter break which happens around mid December, you're going to have two weeks off, 2 weeks of vacation to relax. That's the time to do your financial aid application. That way it's always on time, every year. That's my tip. I tell that to all the students. So alright, so we're going to talk about different types of financial aid.
Mitsuko Leonard
04:06:12 PM
@Aimee, yup, he was referring to the FAFSA
So the ones that most people are really interested in are the free money once, and that's going to be grants and scholarships. OK, so for grants we have the federal grants which are for fast filers only, and that would be like a Pell Grant or COG Grant. So like the Pell Grant, if you have like a zero expected family contribution, it could be as high as I think it's 64 ninety five $6495.
That are eligible for both Fasfa or Cafe DREAM Act filers and and the state grant is the Cal Grant.
And those are usually at 12,570.
We have institutional awards that are grants, and those can. Those can range in different amounts and it's really based on your on its individual based on your own financial aid application, 'cause everyone's circumstance is going to be different.
Nate Buttke
04:07:02 PM
how do you make presentation bigger (full screen)/
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:07:11 PM
@Nate should be upper right corner
So one thing I know, nobody wants to probably hear about loans, but loans are always going to be part of a students aid package, and they're there to, you know, to be able to assist students, and they could be a good option for some families that might be looking for. How else am I going to be able to pay this extra amount?
So we'll talk a little bit about loans and in the different types of loans are going to be there is going to be subsidized loans, which basically the interest is deferred while you're in school, meaning it doesn't grow. So if you have a $3500.
Subsidized federal direct subsidized loan? It's going to stay $3500 until you've graduated. OK, there's unsubsidized loans and Federal direct unsubsidized loan now that one does accrue interest while you're in school.
There's a California dream loan that it mimics the subsidized federal loan. It will have the actually the same interest rate and everything. So like for this current year, the 2021 school year, the interest rate is like 2.75% for those two loans.
Adamary Castro
04:08:33 PM
What if it says we received the blue and gold grant
And then there's like University student loan that's at 5%, and that's a deferred interest loan that's from our school, UC Davis. And then there's work study programs now for work, say programs. If you go to our website, there is there's some information on there where you can go to. It's called it's called handshake and basically what you would do is you can find a work study job on campus or sometimes off campus.
And even non work day jobs on that site work. Study is just a way of earning some extra money while you're going to school and we you know it's a college town and you're going to work. If you have a work safe position, they're going to work around your schedule. But it's a job just like any other job.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:09:00 PM
@Adamary UC Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan: Annual family incomes of up to $80,000 will have their systemwide - or base - tuition and fees covered by gift aid - mix of university, federal, and state grants
And then another great thing is scholarships.
So for scholarships, we encourage you to apply for as many outside scholarships as possible. Just know that your missions application was your scholarship application and they're already reviewing you for scholarships all the way through summer.
OK, so those are the different types of aid.
So now we're going to go into my awards. This is your personalized financial aid offer. OK and in our office we call it, you know, we usually use the phrase it's your aid package because this is what we're offering you for financial aid.
When you log on to your my awards, if you click on that summary tab, it basically is going to tell you what your total financial aid is, and it's also going to provide you a breakdown of the cost of attendance.
Leah Graham
04:09:49 PM
are there jobs for people who didn't get a work study award?
So if you Scroll down a little further down the page.
It's going to basically on same page. It's going to basically breakdown.
The financial aid per term for fall, winter, and spring, 'cause all of your aid is is basically dispersed in thirds for each term.
Jason Andalora, Financial Aid Officer
04:10:12 PM
Here is a great video resource for MyAwards - https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/aboutmyawards
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:10:16 PM
@leah, yes you can still apply for on campus jobs that will pay from their own budget or off campus jobs
So for Cal ground in this example here, this student has $12,570 for the year, but 4001 or 90 is what disperses.
Each term, and that's how it works for all of these, and then some students. If you just look at fall quarter and if you were just wanting to see how much grant you have, you can just look look at fall quarter and it's a very lower right hand right hand bottom right hand it says you can print the page and just cross out the loans all across all the loans add up to grants like for this student they have like about $7500 in grants so for 3/4 it's you know.
Kayla Huang
04:11:07 PM
Do you have to qualify for work study? or anyone can apply for work study?
It's something over 22,000 and then for loans it's roughly around 3000 I believe, and loans that are offered there, so a total of 9000 altogether. But if you're just wanting to look at what the grant amount is, you can do that way and then you know. Then you might have to consider you know what loans may I need to take out? Or maybe I don't need to take him out as everyone situation is different. Some people might be paying out of pocket.
Back up towards the top. This is a really important thing so.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:11:30 PM
@Kayla Work-Study: Allows a student to earn financial aid through employment.
• Is awarded based on need.
• Is available for students eligible to complete the FAFSA application.
• Allows a student to earn financial aid through employment.
• Is paid in the form of a payroll check for time/hours worked.
Under the cost of tenants dropdown menu when you drop this down, it's going to basically give you a look at the different things that are in your budget, like tuition, fees, books and supplies and kind of breaks all that down.
What what the cause intense is composed of?
What's really important is this. It says this for this student. It's estimate cost, and it's for on campus student because their financial aid application said that they were going to be living on campus.
So we package this student with an on campus cost of attendance and they're getting.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:12:12 PM
@Kayla Institutional Work-Study: Is available to International and AB540 students who are eligible to work and is based on need as well.
• For AB540 students who are also undocumented, need is determined by the California Dream Act Application.
• California Dream Act applicants must also meet Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) requirements to be eligible.
• International students must complete a separate application to be considered for Institutional Work-Study.
• All job listings are available online at Handshake: https://icc.ucdavis.edu/find/resources/handshake
Financial aid that reflects that. So if you're living on campus cost a little more living off campus, it's a little less. May you know, I'm not sure. $5000 less. I'm just to have some numbers. And if you're living with parents, that's the most.
Economical thing Rangers. If you're if you're living back home, you're probably not paying rent and stuff so the budget gets less and then as it gets less, you know your package based on that cost. And it's really important 'cause right now when you filled out your financial aid application, you might might have been putting commuter because the way things have been, but the pandemic.
Maybe you're thinking, hey, I'm going to be staying at home and just being online going to school.
If your housing status isn't correct.
Julia Decker
04:12:59 PM
Can non-California residents apply for the Cow grant?
I'm gonna show you how to update it in the future. Slide just a few more slides past, but you want to make sure that that's correct based on what your status is going to be. That way you're packaged correctly, OK.
Nikolas Chupkin
04:13:05 PM
when do scholarship decisions come back?
And everyone I have my glasses on so I can see 'cause it's very small on my screen.
Sure, that's the next one.
Yes, so the remaining cost for this student.
Actually hold on one second, sorry.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:13:44 PM
@Nik some have been awarded already, but they will continue to be awarded throughout the summer and even throughout the regular school year
OK, so on my words it's also going to give you a remaining cost, so for this student this tune has $34,471.00 of financial aid and it's basically covering everything. So when you look in here the cost of attendance minus the contributions and the contributions is the EFCC. That number is expected, expected family contribution is 3830.
Coby Hawkins
04:14:10 PM
I had filed my FAFSA far before the deadline, but when I went to check my financial assistance at Davis, I realized that I forgot to include Davis on my FAFSA. I added Davis about a week ago. Do I still qualify for financial aid?
That is, from your financial aid application, that's the number that we used to figure out how much financial aid you're eligible for eligible for for, like need based aid. So we take basically the Casa tenants, minus the contributions. The EFC equals the need, and then we package on that need. Now to cover this.
EFC, we also have awarded parent plus loan and maybe unsubsidized loan because that's what covers those expect. If someone has a expected family contribution.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:14:42 PM
@Coby yes the date from the original submission is used
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:14:43 PM
@Julia you can find the reqs for the Cal Grant here https://www.csac.ca.gov/cal-grants under eligibility requirements.
Example, they have a total of $10,651.00 of financial aid now this.
At the bottom summary, when it shows this, this is just what's being offered to you now. This student may or may not be taking out their loans, but when in late August usually it's around August 22nd, billions going to come out, and when billing comes out, you're going to look at your my bill and it's going to say you owe X amount of dollars. Let's say it's 10,000. Let's say you're living on campus, it's $10,000.
And then you're going to probably look at your financial aid and say, OK, well, I've accepted all my loans, or I've accepted everything. So I do have 10,651 so I have more than enough to cover that.
But if you don't take out your loans, you're probably going to want to figure out what do I need to consider for paying the remainder so I have $7500 a grant. My bills 10,000 need to come up with another, you know, 2500? So what do I need to do? Maybe you take out those loans, possibly talk with your family. Maybe that you're able to pay out of pocket? That's that's a possibility. Everyone circumstance is going to be different.
So I was just wondering if a student, let's say a student is like OK, I want to take out the loan to help cover the remaining costs, but then later on they found money to end there.
Justice Jones
04:16:11 PM
Are work-study programs hard to get into?
It and they found money to cover the cost, not alone. What do they do? Do they just leave the money there or what happens?
Alexa Lehnus
04:16:22 PM
Is there a payment plan for any and all: tuition, room, and board?
Lauren Bacon
04:16:25 PM
^^ does the blue and gold grant last one year or do you get it every year?
That's a great question, Sandy. So I think 1 of what ends up happening sometimes. Let's say let's say you've taken out these loans and then later on you're like you know what I've taken out too much. I don't need this much. I'm getting a large refund. I'm taking that way too much loan.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:16:57 PM
@Alexa you can apply for a payment plan through Student Accounting on your Mybill. It should include the entire bill
So what I would do is there is a form and I will show it to you where it's at, but you can make changes to your loan now. Remember? So let's say fall quarter hits an and you've taken out all your loans and then your parents. Or let's say you don't want to take any out any more of a particular loan that you took out. You can basically request to adjust it. Just remember it's going to just buy all three quarters so so let's say you have a. Just make it easier. $3000 loan for the year.
That would be $1000 each term.
Pricella Loakhajorn
04:17:08 PM
so our application for the UC’s will be used to be considered for merit based scholarships from the school?
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:17:35 PM
@Pricella yes it will
And then let's say you want to cut in half, so you really only want 1500 for the year, right? So fall quarter they'd already paid out 1000. So if you do this change in aid, what's gonna end up happening is we're going to bill you back for that money that you received that you might have a refund for it. And then you can just you would pay back cashier's everything during the academic year. It goes back to cashier's. If you ever did something like that, but then for the future terms, it would only be paying out at 500 per term.
In and then, if you have questions, make sure that you know on our website we have in the upper right hand corner, says Quicklinks.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:18:04 PM
@Lauren, as long as you submit your fafsa application before the deadline each year and your family's income is up to $80,000
There's a there's a in there there's contact an expert. Also on your my UC Davis at the very top of the bar in the far right. Contact an expert. Those are excellent resources to basically when you click onto those, it's going to recognize you as a UC Davis student and then what you do is you'll select. My question is regarding financial aid. You can ask those questions and you'll get a response and then you know if you feel like you're still not quite understanding what you need to do.
We do have a helpline that's open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 4:00 and we have knowledgeable staff and if if something stumps us, we have referrals that we send out, right? And it's going to. We're going to figure out what what, what's going on and be able to answer your question.
David Yu
04:18:44 PM
What is the difference between a subsidized loan and a University loan in regards to interest accrued while I am in school?
Thasuni Bandara
04:18:48 PM
when should cal grants be accepted?
I would use those those methods to contact us if you're not sure what exactly do, but one thing is like you were saying Sandy, sometimes all of a sudden you know somebody else. Maybe in the family you know is able to help out, and this means that you know.
Vince Ramos doesn't need to take out as much loan. What do I need to do? You can always contact an expert at the would be the best thing, right?
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:19:09 PM
@Justice work-study just means a portion is coming from the Federal work-study program and a portion comes from your employer. You would be responsible for finding the job you want to apply for through Handshake, applying for it, and going through the employer's process. You can find out more here: https://icc.ucdavis.edu/find/resources/handshake
Yeah, can you? Let's see own, I got this now I see it highlighted. Sorry bout that alright so.
On the remaining costs example so.
When you look at your my bill, it's going to basically show your charges OK, and that's what's in blue there and then. We have this thing that happens. It's called authorized aid.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:19:28 PM
@Thasuni, grants are automatically accepted
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:19:30 PM
@David, both are subsidized which means no interest while you are in school (enrolled in at least 6 units)
So if you have all of your.
Requirements completed in your Financial aid awards and you're you're enrolled in 12 units or more. I mean everything is going to authorize, so what's going to happen? It's going to show you your charges on my bill, so it's going to your charges and then right underneath that's going to be authorized aid 0 and then and then it's gonna say run route remaining 0 for this student here. There charges roughly 10,000.
Edwin Salazar
04:20:03 PM
can you receive both the cal grant and the university grant, so like none of the grants replaces the other?
Their authorized aid seems to be all grant money.
OK, so it's about 7500 there. They're still short a little bit, so this is when they might need to consider these different loans that are being offered their options in the green box.
Rheiana Mirazen Cuevas
04:20:23 PM
For the FAFSA 2021-2022, do we have to use our parents’ 2019 tax form even if they now have the 2020 tax form and the 2019 doesn’t reflect our current situation? I’m in the process of transferring my parents’ IRS to financial aid because it asks me for verification.
Anabella Bushey
04:20:25 PM
If I'm paying for college myself and can't do the parent plus loan, in addition to my scholarship, can I apply for a bigger Davis loan or should I take out a private one in my name?
And an for this particular student and everyone situations could be different, but for this particular student, even taking all the loans, there still have a little remaining cost, and for that remain cost, they can just pay out of pocket to cashier's or in my bill they have a thing called a deferred payment plan, and So what would end up happening is they would break those payments. If you weren't able to come out of pocket for $363 by September 15th.
You can sign up for the deferred payment plan and then they would charge you for September 15th. The amount that would be do would be just $121 and then the next month, October 15th there is going to be another charge for $111.00 and then November.
One 11121 and then then it's all taken care of. That's there for payment plan. An. Another example would be let's say they didn't take out any of the loans and they were need to come up with, you know, $3800 and we're just going to round it out to 3000.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:21:28 PM
@Edwin, you could potentially get both depending on your financial need, but they will both be considered part of your need-based aid; they cannot be considered and awarded separate from each other
Dollars and that family said, you know what I can afford to pay $1000 per month, but I cannot come up with $3000 all at once. So maybe they sign for the deferred payment plan and then September 15th they just pay the $1000 October 15th and November 15th. So you know, that's a that's a good way of doing it in there's options out there.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:22:09 PM
@Anabella, we encourage students to take out school loans first before taking out private loans as interest rates tend to be lower
On my awards on the awards tab, you're going to see that. So most students, if you have a Cal grant estimate, it's an estimate 'cause we still have to verify. Our office works really hard to get everything all set up for fall term, but during the summer time we have to still basically figure out whether you're eligible for the Cal Grant and then this will change from estimate.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:22:23 PM
@Rheiana you would still enter the 2019 tax information. If the information has changed due to special circumstances, you can complete a Family Contribution appeal beginning July 1 or Cost of Attendance appeal beginning October 1. This is where you can indicate the change in income.
To an accepted amount, if you're eligible. OK, so don't worry about you know it being estimated.
Tejal Tejal
04:22:38 PM
are there any financial aid offers for students who aren't eligible for FAFSA or the dream act ?
Namra Zahoor
04:22:48 PM
Does UC Davis inform students if they are considered for campus scholarships?
Over the summer, and then if it's, let's say, for some student they're not eligible, you might receive some other form of aid in place of that. OK, so in this in this case, for this student, let's say this particular student, just this particular student 'cause it's going to be different for everybody if they weren't eligible for the Cal Grant, they would get 12,570 added to their University grant.
So they're not losing any free money. But again, we're going to be working on this during the summer. Converting those from estimates to accept it. Almost everybody should should say, estimated.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:23:08 PM
@Tejal International students may be eligible for scholarships, alternative loans and short-term loans. Please visit our website for more information and resources https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/apply/international
All the other money is in all the other grants or scholarships already setting accepted because no one is going to say no to free money.
The only ones that aren't accepted are going to be the loans OK, and those are grayed out, so they accepted. Decline bars are grayed out.
Danny Kim
04:23:36 PM
Can you get residency in California for out of state students to receive the in state tuition?
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:23:51 PM
@Namra some scholarship notifications have already been sent out. Notifications will continue through the Summer.
You can. These will open up on July 1st because the interest rates opened up on July 1st for the new academic year, so we don't want anybody accepting anything and we just want to make sure it's it's. It's a clean transfer like we're going into the new rates and interest rates like for this year. Like I said, the subsidized loan was 2.75% so you just want to make sure that we have the correct rates on July 1st. Those will those will open up and if you choose to take out a loan because you're like, yeah, I need to take out these loans.
You can click accept and then on the far right they'll be requirements. Now you'll notice that there's some requirements also listed for the grants.
And this is because there might be multiple different types of requirements and you see in the tabs at the top there's a requirement with the exclamation mark in red.
Is a 1201 other thing. These loans it says accept or decline.
Edwin Salazar
04:24:32 PM
can you receive both the cal grant and the university grant, so like none of the grants replaces the other?
You can leave those just in offered status, so if you don't take any action, it's there for you. OK, so during the academic year you can accept loans up until May 15th of 2022.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:24:57 PM
@Danny, Office of Registrar determines residency. I would encourage you to contact them for more information via phone or Contact An Expert: my.ucdavis.edu/ask_us
So all of a sudden spring quarter hits and you haven't taken out your loans, but hey, I need some extra money right now. You can take them out up until that time they just have to. It has to happen before instruction ends for spring quarter so.
If you leave them open like this without accepting their declining.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:25:27 PM
@thasuni, Your application to UC davis is also you application for all UCD scholarships
It will save you because the process for accepting is going to be faster and you'll get your money faster if you decline this and later say you know what I need. I need this loan after all, and I'm going to show you how to again your housing status change an making changes to your loans. I'm going to show you how to make those changes or to request those changes, but that process might take a couple of weeks to for us to get that information and for us to change your loan.
So I think it's always a good thing just to leave it as is. If you don't accept it, never going to pay out doesn't mean you have it. I mean, as far as like it, you're not in on the hook for that money, right? Until you accept it and complete the requirements.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:25:48 PM
@Angie no it does not
That's a very useful tip, but I never thought about that. They're doing that when I was in college like I was like, OK, decline. So it's just like I never thought about that, you know, just leave it.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:26:03 PM
@Edwin you can possibly receive both. In the example slide that Vince is reviewing, the student has the majority of their Blue and Gold Fund eligibility from their Cal grant and the remaining eligibility through their University grants.
Yeah this yeah it's yeah 20 about two decades of experience gives you these little tips so.
You're the expert. I told you, you know.
Yeah, I think that's really, really good information there.
For the requirements page. So on the top you click on requirements.
You can see that in the red box.
In the upper left hand corner, right above the red box, it says all awards.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:26:39 PM
@Coby Students can view their Financial Aid awards in MyAwards: myawards.ucdavis.edu
These requirements affect all awards, so this specific student, Anne, has a requirement for.
It says verification requirements class Sarcee Sarcee just means Student aid report. It's a comment code, so our office has to verify whatever the federal government is saying to verify. Or the California DREAM Act application. The comforting Commission is asking us to verify and it could be we're verifying what they put on their financial aid applications, accurate an we gather some information, and if it wasn't accurate, we just update it.
Right 'cause we're going to get information from from the student and parents to make sure that it's filled out correctly and students do this. You know, four four times in their lifetime until they have some children. May be there helping out their kids, but we do this all the time and we're really good at finding and making sure that the any mistakes are found. And then we get the right information in there. The other thing is like.
Rheiana Mirazen Cuevas
04:27:39 PM
I don’t see a university grant in my awards
Normando Macaraeg
04:27:41 PM
so if you overpay, it will show a balance into your account for the following semester?
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:28:05 PM
@Normando, your Mybill will only let you pay whatever balance is there, not over the amount
This student aid report see codes like it could be something like. You know, all males are required to register with selective services, so they might have to provide us documentation showing that they have registered right? And you get a little card after you register. You get a little card, has your name on. It says that you registered and you just would submit it through our through our system. For these other three items once, once you you can click on each one of them and then would end up happening. It kind of tells you what it's about.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:28:33 PM
@Rheiana the university grants are need based. If you have more specific questions please reach out to us through Contact An Expert here: Contact An Expert: my.ucdavis.edu/ask_us
And then you'll just have to make some different decisions and then once you've completed these items, they're going to drop down to the very bottom of your requirements age, and it's going to basically say completed. Now, if the student had already done, let's say everything, the authorized aid up to 200, the statement of understanding the title for authorization, say these were the only ones that were listed.
Hope Humphreys
04:28:38 PM
If my family's financial situation has changed due to COVID and the EFC is very different now can our financial aid package be re-evaluated? Will that happen before decision day so that we can make sure we can afford it?
Once you complete those pretty much, you're pretty much set other than if you accept alone all the sun. Some requirements are going to come out there like the what you see in blue there.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:29:11 PM
@Hope Our Family Contribution Appeal will be available July 1 and our Cost of Attendance Appeal is available beginning October 1.

Zara Luo
04:29:12 PM
how do you maximize your work study award amount?
It says you know incomplete requirement because this student has to still do the requirements for that particular loan. An for Parent plus loan. That's going to be parents doing it, not the student. So if any students do have parents that are taking out a parent plus loan in our system, just know that the parents actually have to go onto studentloangov.studentloans.gov website and actually do the application. So just by you saying that you accept it.
It's really the parents they have to accept. It might show that it's accepted, but the requirements have to be done by your parents still.
A couple of things there.
Also on this page, if you haven't submitted your click on this page, it will let you know if you submitted your financial aid application 'cause down at the very bottom it's going to say completed requirements. It's going to say free application for federal student aid the FASA. They'll say complete 'cause we have it in our system.
Codi Tam
04:29:51 PM
what is the $200 authorization?
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:30:10 PM
@zara, students are able to receive $2600 in work study amount
Or I'll say the California DREAM Act application cotta. We have it in our system. That's how you know that we do have your financial aid application on file. OK, if you haven't submitted your financial aid application, the first page when you log into my words is going to basically say we haven't received your financial aid application and it's going to basically direct you to our Ally page, which is on our website financialaid.ucdavis.edu or main page under.
There's a bunch of dropdown links there one says apply, so if you click on apply, it's going to basically take you to the links to do your application.
Coby Hawkins
04:30:32 PM
thank you! When would I be able to find my financial plan?
Trisha Suresh
04:30:32 PM
what are the eligibility requirements for the work-study program?
Alright, let me go the next slide here.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:31:00 PM
@trisha, for more information on work study, please click here https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/types/work-study
This is on the awards tab, so on the awards tab, when it shows the different words that you have you been offered when you Scroll down. There's this. Submit a change in a request link. This is where if your housing status is not accurate, you're going to click this. You're going to select make changes to my housing status, and then you're going to select the correct housing status.
Now, if you're not sure what is on campus, our campus is huge. It's like one of the biggest campuses, and in of all the UC's I believe.
And you can go to our website againitsfinancialaid.ucdavis.edu.
And on the undergraduate tab, the dropdown click on cost of attendance.
And on that cost of attendance, it has definition. So it'll say cost of attendance definitions.
Matthew Taylor
04:31:33 PM
Is the "University Grant" in MyAwards the same as the blue and gold plan?
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:31:43 PM
@Coby you should have access to your financial aid awards now through MyAwards if you have already completed your FAFSA or CA Dream Act app.
Just go down to room and board 'cause that's where housing is and it's going to basically give you the detail information about what's on campus housing for financial aid purposes, what's considered off campus, and what's living with parents. Pretty self explanatory. Off campus is you know you have a lease month to month lease on campus. You're in one of the residence halls. You know there's three different residence halls and you know there's like 29 buildings. There's like 10 buildings for each.
Thasuni Bandara
04:32:20 PM
can we still apply for uc davis scholarships for this year?
Resinall, like Segundo, has probably 10 buildings, but that is considered on campus. In our website is going to basically kind of help with that and also will tell you exactly how to make if you can't remember this or you don't have access to this slide later.
On in that room and board section, if you Scroll down the page, it tells that we want to make sure that this is accurate.
And then it will give you step by step instructions how to submit this. This also says.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:32:39 PM
@Codi If aid is sufficient to pay both the current year educational costs and a previous year account balance, students can submit the Online Prior-Year Debt Request Form to allow financial aid funds to be used to pay the balance. Please note that with authorization, financial aid will only be applied to current charges and up to the $200 allowed per federal regulations for a prior year balance. If the prior-year balance is greater than $200, the student will be required to pay down the balance out-of-pocket to $200 or less.
Declare outside financial assistance. This is really important.
If you're receiving any type of scholarships.
Jessi Vallandingham
04:32:54 PM
Are Payments made by term or an annual basis?
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:33:06 PM
@matthew, Blue and gold plan can be awarded in the forms of Federal, State, University, and/or private grants/scholarships to cover your base tuition and fees for the school year.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:33:15 PM
@Jessi per term
Any type of scholarships you need to report them to our office so this is the way to do it. Basically, when you click on that link, it's going to ask you for the name of the scholarship in the amount that you're going to be receiving, because the cost of attendance is a certain amount. So if the cost of attendance, I'm just going to say, for example, is 3000 or 30,000 you can't receive if you get a scholarship for $3000, you can't receive $33,000 in financial aid going above the cost of tents we have to fit it within your.
Other financial aid. So this might be something where we're we're reducing.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:33:33 PM
@Thasuni your UC app is also your scholarship app for the first year. You can still apply for Outside scholarships. This is a great place to start: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/scholarships/outsidescholarships
Edwin Salazar
04:33:35 PM
is the university loan subsidized or unsubsidized?
Thing called self help that most students have, or reducing the loans first before we even touch the grants. But again this is different for every student, but you definitely want to make sure to let us know.
Anurag Kumar
04:33:40 PM
When will the UC Davis scholarships be announced?
On here, because this is an example, an nobody is accepted their loans.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:33:49 PM
@Edwin Subsidized
Once you do accept their loans, so we had fourth link in. Here it says make changes to my loans and that's where you'll basically when you click on there. Let's say you only accepted 2000 of a $3500 subsidized loan.
It'll give you all kinds of different options. One of them will say increase or decrease, but the one that says increase it's going to say increase my.
Leah Graham
04:34:05 PM
Is there interest on the defererred payment plan?
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:34:16 PM
@anurag, scholarships will be awarded throughout the summer
Federal Direct subsidized loan from 2000 and it already knows and it says up to maximum of 3500, so you can key in the amount that you want, so that's where you would do this.
The other thing on here on this page at the very bottom desk, third party authorization. This is really important because we have.
A lot of parents sometimes that want to call in regarding their son or daughter's financial aid awards and or they have questions.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:34:36 PM
@Leah no but there is an application fee, please refer to your Mybill for more details about the payment plan
Once you submit your intent to register, there are laws. One it's called FERPA and you know, we basically are very protective of your information. So once you submit your intent to register, if your mom or Dad calls asking hey, you know, I want to talk about my son Vince Ramos. I know I can't remember his ID or I get they give him the ID they're going to ask who are you and then say I'm Vince's dad and then we're going to look to see if that persons authorized.
Person to be able to discuss things. If not, if we can't authorize, we can't see that they are authorized. What we're going to end up doing is.
Nathan Rosselli
04:35:18 PM
Are there any grants or financial aid for out of state students?
Gonna just say I'm sorry I have no record of this student, but how can I help you out? How may I help you out with you? Know? Whatever you know, general question you might have.
And then you know the parents probably gonna be upset that hey, my son Vince Ramos goes here I need. I need to talk about this financial aid. So then one thing is, we might direct the student to contact admissions. The other one would be we might mention, you know there is a third party authorization that is found on the students my awards and for parents to be able to.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:36:01 PM
@Nathan, out of state students can qualify for federal grants/awards if they have sufficient financial need as determined by the FAFSA
Parents to be able to talk about their financial aid in our office specific to a student, they would have to have filled this out. It's basically kind of just giving them clues like you know, hey this needs to happen.
Angie Hernandez
04:36:11 PM
For the Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan, does systemwide or base tuition and fees include room and board?
Codi Tam
04:36:24 PM
is the parent loan subsidized or unsubsidized?
Some parents get upset because yeah, they want to talk about stuff, but there's. There's a reason there's a lot there, and again, that law is for again, we are office takes your your personal information very very. We just we really want to protect you, the student.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:36:34 PM
@Codi Unsubsidized
PURPA I know many of you heard about it, but it's basically to protect students. OK, you're going to basically complete that through your my awards. Just where I showed you and when your parent is contacting our office, they're going to basically after provide their name and you're going to give them a pass phrase when you sign them up. You can pass phrase, make it something unique, and then that mom or dad when they call. It's going to ask the passphrases. They're going to ask what your student ID number is.
Joseline Ayala Arellano
04:37:11 PM
Do we need to submit our SIR before completing the requirements?
And your date of birth. And then we'll be able to talk about some things you know we're going to be able to assist your parents better. OK, let me quick.
Elizabeth Ebel
04:37:32 PM
Where do parents have to go to process parent direct loans. He cut out when he mentioned
With third party authorization, were able to provide, you know general financial aid information. You know consumer information, just timelines on like you know how things are getting processed as far as if someone has documents in that we're trying to get done like a like, an appeal of some sort or if these have, you know.
I know about their options like we were talking about earlier, but their loans.
So you definitely want to make sure that that you have this third party authorization set up. You know there are certain things that we can talk on the phone about.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:38:17 PM
@Angie you can find out more about the fees and what is included here: https://financeandbusiness.ucdavis.edu/student-resources/tuition-fees/undergraduate
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:38:20 PM
@Elizabeth, please click here for more information on Parent PLUS Loan https://studentaid.gov/plus-app/parent/landing
And then when we're talking to your parents or yourself, even we're always going to refer things. So if someone calls in asking about when's the feed deadline, really, that's the student accounting question, but I'm going to tell you, hey, go to our website financialaid.ucdavis.edu. Click on undergraduate, click on important dates and it's going to show right there. So and then I'm going to tell you, yeah, fees are due on September 15th, but I want to direct you to our website.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:38:27 PM
@Joseline yes I would recommend not completing requirements until/if you SIR. Some wouldn't satisfy this early anyway and some (like verification) will not allow you to access the portal to complete them until/if you SIR
Searching get that information.
Darva Ryba
04:38:44 PM
I filed my FAFSA before the deadline, and included Davis, but the MyAwards site says it has not received my FAFSA. What can I do (or who should I talk to) to fix this?
See here things that we can't talk over the phone about. So if someone calls in like a parent and or student and they're saying hey, what's my EFC? We're going to direct you to where to find that and you should be able to find that in your my words or your award amounts, but you know if a parent says my.
$100 was awarded a cow grant for 12,570. I don't see it on there. Well, they've given us that amount so we can discuss that.
Erin Peixoto
04:39:07 PM
Can outside scholarships help pay for room and board and other school fees or can it only go towards tuition?
But you know, you don't want to be calling the financial Aid Office to ask about the values that you put on your financial aid application, because we're not going to be able to provide that to anyone, you need to log into your. You need to log into your student aid report.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:39:36 PM
@Angie the room and board is included in the overall Estimated Cost of Attendance. You can find more here on the Cost of Attendance here: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/cost
An all the values are listed there so that you can look at those and if something you know was an error then you can make a correction. You can resubmit it OK, and then if you're asking about you know refund amounts. You can look at your your my bill and it's going to show you that.
Scholarships, so your financial aid application? No sorry.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:39:51 PM
@Darva, please give our office a call at 530-752-2390 Mon-fri from 9am-4pm for further assistance
Your admissions application to UC Davis was also your scholarship application as coming into UC Davis, so that's great scholarships. Works really hard to figure out.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:39:58 PM
@Erin, if the funds are sent to the school then it will go automatically towards tuition first. If funds are sent to you then it is up to you how you apply them
You know who is eligible for scholarships, 'cause they have to look at all kinds of different things. So just know that throughout the summer they're still working on these. If you do receive a scholarship, you'll be notified by email. OK, when the scholarship that we want you to make sure to apply for is the Kagey alumni scholarship and that closes on June 4th, so make sure that you apply for that.
And like I mentioned before, earlier any outside scholarships apply away? OK, 'cause you know any scholarships? Just think of this is more free money coming in versus possibly maybe having to take out loan money.
Now your second year just mention this your second year, so right when you get here in the fall.
You're there's no scholarship application for the following year 'cause you're not, you know, so mean.
Kayla Huang
04:40:52 PM
What's the highest loan amount one can ask when applying for the University Student Loan?
Jimena Quezada
04:41:20 PM
under "important notices" it says that my financial aid includes a gift awarded under UC Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan, but I dont see it on my actual financial aid form. Is it possibly under a different name or am I just reading it wrong?
I meant you know, request right? So you actually have to go to our website, click on the scholarship link and it's going to provide a link to apply for scholarships for the 2223 academic year that opens up on October 1st. An closes somewhere around the first week of January, so that's something you know last students that come in there really hyper focused on, you know, just doing well and fall quarter and getting.
Christina Xu
04:41:32 PM
If the parents move to CA during the school year, will that make the student an “in state afterward?
Getting acclimated to you, know UC Davis and everything else in their classes. Sometimes they might miss this and we don't want students to miss this. You know we have 30,000 undergraduate students. We might only get 1500 applicants each year for this, and there are hundreds and hundreds of scholarships out there, so make sure that you do that when you get here during the fall.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:41:55 PM
@iKayla, if eligible, an entering student can accept up to $2000 in the Univeristy student loan
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:41:59 PM
@Christina please contact Office of Registrar for questions regarding residency status
When you have outside scholarships, if you go to the scholarships tab on our website and you click, there's a drop down will say outside scholarships when you click on there, it's going to basically have a little link. It says where to send the payments and it looks kind of weird because this address says West Sacramento Anwhere in Davis, right? But this is where outside scholarship payments should be sent and this is the address you can be using. OK, even though it says West Sacramento and when.

04:42:30 PM
What's interest rate for loans (parent plus loan) and can i apply for work study even if i have not received any need based support?
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:42:32 PM
@Jimena the Blue and Gold plan can include Cal grant funds, Pell grants, University grants, SEOG grants, basically any grants/scholarships.
A donor is giving the scholarship or send it to this address. They need to make sure the list as soon ID and your full name on that information. OK, so I know this look always looks weird 'cause people ask where do I send these scholarships? And sometimes they'll send him directly to the Financial Aid Office. And yeah, we're redirecting him to the right place.
Bryan Davalos Guzman
04:42:56 PM
Can I use Cal Grant money for living on campus?
OK appeals, so there's a. There's a lot of different appeals that are out there, and it just depends on everyone's circumstance. You know why or why not they why, why they do or don't need to do an appeal. So you know, because of the pandemic, it's thrown a lot of things off this last year, so there might be families that have a lower income than they had. So when you fill out your financial aid application, it's using 2019 tax information.
Paige Hendrix
04:43:24 PM
can you explain the parent plus loan
In 2019, there was no pandemic, so pretty much you know people are working and there's nothing going on as far as you know. Not a lot of people are losing jobs or.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:43:35 PM
@Bryan, cal grant will go directly to tuition and fees
But because of the pandemic, maybe people have lost jobs or they're making less.
This family contribution appeals for that, so basically it's a way for our office to gather some information from the student and parent so that we we can.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:43:59 PM
@Crystal interest rates for the 2021-2022 year will be released July 1st. You must have financial need as determined by the FAFSA to receive Work-Study, but you can apply for jobs that do not pay through Work-Study
Look at we can review of what your parents income is in 2021 versus 2019 of what that tax return says.
So let's say, let's say income was 100,000 in 2019, and now one you know, maybe your dad lost his job and now the income is 50,000 Ann, and right now 2021, you definitely would want to do one of these family contribution appeals because what we'll do is we will gather information to figure out what parents are making for that for 2021 and then will recalculate.
Make adjustments to your application which will give you a new expected family contribution that most likely will be a lower EFC.
Zara Luo
04:44:46 PM
about the $200 authorization, would a "decline" allow more than $200 of aid to be paid for a previous year?
An when that lower EFC is there, when we go to package repackage you, you might be eligible for different types of financial aid. OK, so that's something to consider.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:44:57 PM
@Paige the Parent PLUS loan is a loan that would be taken out by your parent to help cover student fees. They can take out up to your Estimated Cost of Attendance, less the amount you have been awarded in other aid. You can find more here: https://studentaid.gov/plus-app/parent/landing
And then also cost of attends appeals. So cost of attendance appeals. This is kind of a new thing that we have.
Far as we have the computer loans worked into our cost of attendance appeals. So let's say you're going to UC Davis this fall and you don't have a laptop yet. An you're thinking you know what I really would like. One of those MacBook Air, you know it cost $2000. Where am I going to get 2000? Well, as soon As for fall quarter. Basically you can click you can click on the cost of attendance appeal and you inside there. It'll say it'll ask what you're appealing.
Chahim Aune-Lopez
04:45:41 PM
How does financial aid work if you plan to defer for a year?
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:45:44 PM
@Zara no a decline means no aid will be used to pay a previous year's balance and it will be your responsibility to pay it before any payment deadlines
Gaius Ilupeju
04:45:53 PM
When is verification for incomplete requirements due?
You can say for a computer and what you would do is you provide us the documentation of who The Who you're buying the computer from. So Best Buy. Or maybe our store on campus because they sell computers there and you would just give us a price quote. You know, MacBook Air cost $2000 and then I believe our computer loans can go up to $2500.
A University student loan help with pain for that computer and we would put that University student loan all in one term fall term. If you applied and fall. So that way when that money pays out.
You should be able to get.
You know, if there's no other charges in your account, you should be able to get a refund for that amount, and you can use that money to go purchase a computer. Other cost of attendance appeals would be just like.
If you're not living on campus, and let's say in our in our budget.
You know you don't see this, but maybe like rent is like $700.00. OK, that's what we. That's what's in the budget per month and that's over nine months. The academic year. OK, but you're paying $900?
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:47:05 PM
@Chahim you would need to ensure you complete your FAFSA or Dream Act app again by March 2. You would receive a new Financial Aid package for that upcoming year. For 2022-23 you would need to use your 2020 income information.
Per month, which is $200 more than than you know what our budget is. So what we can do is you would basically just provide us with your lease shows the amount that's your pain per month and then what we do is take the difference that $200 we times it by 9 we'd offer you $1800 University student loan.
To help with those costs, so that's where the cost of the tents appeal is.
Codi Tam
04:47:32 PM
where do we set up a payment plan?
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:47:50 PM
@Codi, you apply and set up through your MyBill
And refreshment document deadline is June 15th. This means that if you were selected for verification, you have that verification CRC code. And we're asking for documents. We want to make sure to get those documents in by June 15th. OK, if you have loan requirements member, the loans aren't going to open up until July 1st. But if you know that you're going to be taking out the loans you want to start that process by accepting and completing those requirements.
And and then the fee payment deadline is September 15th.
We want to make sure and the reason we have these deadlines is we wanna make sure our office extremely busy. Just trying to get everything ready for you. For all the students we want to make sure that we have these deadlines in place.
Nathan Rosselli
04:48:33 PM
What financial aid solutions are there for out of state students?
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:48:40 PM
@Verification is due May 15
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:48:49 PM
@Nathan you can find more on Out of State aid here: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/apply/national
Edwin Salazar
04:49:05 PM
Does the $200 authorization apply to freshman students since it's our first year in college?
So that you get the documents in so we have enough time to get everything processed before fall term starts before the fall fee payment deadline.
So this is extremely helpful for our office because if we didn't have a deadline for this, you know we have 30,000 undergraduates. We don't have enough staff to process stuff that fast, we'd have to, you know, get Sandy in there helping us, or you know it's just. It's just. There's too many students, so that's why we have these deadlines and it's just so that we can get that process done and have you all set up for fall 'cause our main goal in our office.
Is to have your financial aid all set up.
Albena Goulisheva
04:49:30 PM
Is tuition paid via the MyAwards portal (in late Aug)?
Leah Graham
04:49:33 PM
if you get some aid freshman year and family income remains the same will it be the same moving forward through the years?
For fall so that you're focused on school and not worrying about how am I going to pay for things? That's our goal. We want to service the student so that you guys are all set and just focusing on school. That fee payment deadline you want to make sure that.
That went on August 22nd. Like we mentioned earlier, the billing comes out most likely around that time August 22nd and then make sure that you look and see the amount of the charges. Look underneath it. That's going to say authorized aid.
Jamila Brown, Financial Aid Officer
04:49:47 PM
@Leah It can be similar.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:49:52 PM
@Edwin not really, unless you were to attend Summer Sessions, but your answer carries over for the following years unless changed
And make sure that you have enough authorized aid to cover those charges. If you have enough authorized to cover their charges, then there's no payment needed. But if you don't have enough authorized aid, that's when and you haven't accepted your loans that you might need to consider your loans. Might need to figure like, oh, I need to pay out of pocket to the cashier's office. Just want you all that before September 15th. What ends up happening on September 15th.
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:50:15 PM
@Albena, tuition payments need to be paid through your MyBill
If you are not in paid status, unfortunately students will be dropped for non payment and then you get charged $110 late fee and then you have to re register in your classes and hopefully those classes are still there as other students might. You know take those classes so you just really want to be on top of that. It's a very important date. September 15th.
And to be on top of those dates, the best thing to do I could tell you right now it's a sign up for these.
Divisha Singh
04:50:38 PM
Why does it say "You currently have Incomplete Requirements that will prevent disbursement of certain funds. Please note: If you have been selected for Verification, the 2021-22 Priority Verification deadline is May 15, 2021." when I log onto MyAwards?
That whatever you feel comfortable with. OK so Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. We're going to whenever there's an important date or some type of function dealing with financial aids coming up the scholarship deadline or scholarship application comes out. We're always going to provide that information on social media. OK, so these are great things and and parents, parents, and I'm not sure if parents are in there. I'm sure maybe they're watching along with the students.
add us this way you get that information.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:51:25 PM
@Divisha you must have requirements to complete on your Myawards portal on the Requirements tab. You can review them, but only complete after/if you submit the SIR
Dev Rathod
04:51:32 PM
Will the scholarship be awarded after I fill my SIR??
Then you can check in with your student your AGI and say hey, do we do the do we do the faster or California DREAM Act? Did you apply for the scholarship? Hey, do you know that this is coming up? That way you know you have that information to knowledge is power and these are great. Our team does a great job of avoiding that information out there for you. The other thing is.
Chahim Aune-Lopez
04:51:43 PM
How does financial aid work if you plan to defer for a year?
Nataly Mercedes Florian
04:51:52 PM
@Dev, scholarships will be awarded throughout the summer
The Wellness program that we have. We have a fantastic team that is really focused on helping students with their find. Basically like budgeting and making sure they're managing their money well. So on our website there's a there's a tab at the top, it's outreach and Wellness.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:52:25 PM
@Chahim, funds are not held onto. You would submit another FAFSA or Dream Act application for th next year and get re-packaged with the updated budget/awards
Definitely take a look at that and we have peer advisors that meet with students. We just want to make sure you know if you have questions about you. Know just budgeting your money. I mean it's just a great resource which I had this a long time ago because you know, back when I was going to college, I mean basically the only thing I think I saw were like all these tables in front of the College of credit card companies offering credit cards. You know I wish I wish we had a team like this that.
Told us about managing your money and it's just. It's just a great resource.
And also, you know I'd like to invite you. It's going to be online. It's called budget con, so our Chancellor, Gary may he's a big fan of comics and we came up one of our staff members, Jamila. I believe Brown came up with this budget con idea. I think in large McBride at the time.
Edwin Salazar
04:53:04 PM
Can I use the university grant for room and board costs?
And this event was just amazing. You know, this year it's going to be remote. I think it's happening mid April, but if you do.
Sign up for these resources right? You'll get notified about this and they'll have links to sign up because it's just a really good resources for students. Again, we have, you can make appointments with our with our. We have student advisor staff. It's just it's just a great thing. It's a. It's a great event just to help out students. We just want you to be successful as possible.
Arianna Rose Ahmed
04:53:54 PM
@Edwin your financial aid for the term will automatically pay towards tuition and then your housing charges, if there is anything left it will be disbursed to you as a refund to use as you wish
Takeaways so wrapping it up, you know we kind of went over my awards. You really want to focus on getting those requirements completed member the loans you won't be able accept those until July 1st if you just decide to do that. And then if if you decide to accept those member to complete those requirements. Now, if you haven't accepted that, I don't believe that the requirements for loan still stay out there, but if you haven't accepted your loans.
Divisha Singh
04:54:16 PM
Are there virtual sessions where students can talk with a financial aid advisor to discuss their MyAwards page before the SIR deadline? If so, when are such sessions held?
And the requirements say incomplete.
Don't worry about that. 'cause you haven't accepted the loan. No need to do the requirement right.
Remember about the remaining costs? You know this can differ just between applicants because everyone's different. That's why you know when you fill out your financial aid application.
You know, and maybe not answering to all of them, but but there's a lot of different incomes, assets, number of people in family, so you know if I'm if I'm looking at myself and you know, Sandy is is another student that you were like, hey, why did you get this? You know, grand? I didn't, you know and looks like we, you know our families that live right next to each other. But I don't get this or it's just that everyone's situation is unique and that's why in every year you're going to fill out that financial aid application.
In the chat in the chat, I just want you guys to throw out the day the most important day to submit your financial aid application is by what day?

Make sure that you apply for scholarships right when you get here at UC Davis in the fall, because that's for the following year and your scholarship application for this year with your missions application and you'll be notified if you're getting.
