Yes! I can hear you
First off, I want to congratulate you on being accepted to UC Davis. This is very exciting time for you and well deserved award.
So our agenda for today types of aid available.
privacy policy. Important dates.
So types of aid available. Well, there's a wide range of resources available to help students and families meet the cost of Education.
Loans work, study, scholarships, free aid.
OK, let's get into all of these different.
So my awards. This is your command post. My words will show you all the information you need. It says if you look at the very top in this bar at the top, you'll see in blue you have summary tab, awards tab, requirements tab.
Academic progress and holds. Let's start with the summary tab in blue.
OK, it's really important to know the cost to attend Davis, right? You're going to need to budget, so if you look at the yellow box highlighted in blue, this will show you the estimated cost of of the total estimated financial aid that this student will be receiving an the cost of attendance is right below it.
And then also the estimated contributions in the box below and the financial need.
All important so you can view your estimated financial aid and see what your remaining cast look like so you can help budget for your expenses at College.
It's also important to view any important notices that you see right here on the right column in blue.
These notices will help in assuring that your financial aid is available to you when your expenses and your charges are do.
OK, going on to your estimated aid, this is really important because this information will breakdown into the quarters were on the quarter system, right? So in blue or purple purple we actually highlight fall quarter in this particular student you can see you can view your aid broken down by quarter. I'm at the bottom of the summary tab that we saw earlier in the earlier slide. So for fall quarter this student has the Cal Grant.
You see, right here under fall, the column is highlighted in purple, the different awards. So this student has a grant account grant for fall quarter. Federal subsidized parent loan and subsidized parent loan? Federal subsidized loan.
Going down further, unsubsidized loan Anapau Grant.
And at the bottom it will go ahead and tell you the total.
Across the slide, it will have the total for each grant.
Ryan Nguyen
06:05:22 PM
Are University Grant and Cal Grant the same thing?
OK again going back to the the buttons at the top we already looked at it the summary. We're looking at the awards. This is some really important page 2 to always check the status because it will ensure that you have accepted any of the offered aid that you want to take for the academic year so at looking at this slide under the heading and green you go from award to offered amount to accept it amount to award status.
An requirement status. So if you go back one to the word status, this will tell you whether or not you've accepted in rendered decline these different awards.
The cow grant is an estimated status. If you go right above the little purple box, because estimate until the state of California confirms in a list to us of the different award ease.
To the right, the last column required.
Requirements status this is really important because of if you're the information needed for these different awards are incomplete, we cannot process.
So always keep this in mind to review your my awards. So going again to the tab.
We have we went from summary to award and now requirements. OK so you need to complete any incomplete requirements and as soon as possible to prevent the delay in receiving your funds for fall quarter. So again we go to the blue tab requirements. You look at the different lists.

Again, very important, so there isn't any delay in your receiving fall financial aid. Please make sure that all your requirements are met.
OK, what does that mean remaining cost? See at the very top my wars remaining costs. OK, So what you need to do is review what the cost is to attend UC Davis, and in this purple box highlighted you can see that it's broken down. There is the total amount at the top, but then it breaks it down to the different items, tuition, books, room and board. Personally, fences, transportation and then they will add.
Total estimated contributions actually expected. Family contribution that is determined by your fasfa processing by the federal government. So once you subtract out that expected family contribution to the expenses, then you'll find out what your financial need is.
And once you know the financial need is an the type of Angel we see there will be a remain. There could possibly be a remaining cost to you, and it's a way to help you in planning and budgeting for the academic year. So and I just wanted to also mention the cost of attendance can vary, an it can vary due to weather, not the students on campus or off campus. A computer or non resident.
Gabriella Solakian
06:09:10 PM
how will we be receiving our financial aid money? direct deposit or checks?
OK, this remaining cost, so this is really important. This is where you have. We all need to learn to budget an for a fall quarter. It's good to plan ahead and do this an review your my awards now so that you can understand how to plan for meeting your expenses come fall quarter. So if you see at the very top says remaining cost.
The far right in purple. Total cost of attendance, you subtract minus the total contributions. That's your expected family. Contribution's plus.
OK, going back to remaining cost.
So you see, here you are fall quarter this coming fall as early as August we need for you to.
Jamila Brown
06:09:57 PM
@Gabriella you will have the option to sign up for direct deposit or receive a paper check. We recommend signing up for direct deposit though.
Check your current balance. You at the very bottom of the slide you can see in a purple box with an arrow. Check your current balance. So what does that mean in August? Once the fall bills are available from student accounting here at UC Davis, you need to click on check the balance button balance button to link you to your actual charges in my bill.
So in the charges you will find there.
Are your tuition and fees.
Joy Fisher
06:10:22 PM
Hello Ryan, the University grant is an institutional grant that is awarded to students who are eligible to help cover some of their cost of attendance but it is different from the Cal Grant, which is a state grant that is limited to only covering the tuition costs for a student who is eligible. For more information you can check out our website to find out more information concerning the different types of grants available to students.
Your housing if you're on campus, a document fee and chip, which is your health insurance if you so choose to sign up for health insurance.
All important information.
Checking one's balance. Is it really important to make sure that you have met all your expenses?
Not to meet your charges means it could delay your registering for classes or even at times jeopardizing your classes if you don't maintain.
Paul Marland
06:10:47 PM
Is the federal direct subsidized loan not considered to be part of our estimated family contribution?
David Bouzas Gewing
06:10:49 PM
Our financial situation changed dramatically. When can we send the appeal and when will you figure out the new amount?
Here you go by awards. The remaining cost so you have an example of different remaining costs.
This to the far left you have again, this is the the expenses that you have in the purple left top box minus all the different awards that you have right? The different grant awards that we had mentioned before.
It could be a cow Grant Pell Grant.
University campus figure. Aunt or a University grant? You add those all up.
And then the remaining cost would be at the very bottom.
Star Welch
06:11:40 PM
what is the difference between subsidized and unsubsidized loans?
other options. If students have remaining cards that you could take advantage of, hopefully.
The far right box you can see there is the federal direct subsidized loan or the federal direct unsubsidized loan parent plus loan. Outside scholarships or personal savings.
So you do have options available to you.
So still on my words outside resources, an important links. OK, you get lots of information in my words, so starting at the very top.
In the green box, this is where you would click on this box if you are interested in.
I work study program, so In addition to the words you may be eligible for work study. So if you click in the bottom of the button below.
Study eligibility certificate instructions would be obtained here.
Jamila Brown
06:12:50 PM
@Paul the estimated family contribution and student self help is used to determine your financial need. Once the need is determined, then we award you grants, loans, scholarships etc. Your financial need will determine the type of loan you receive whether it is subsidized or unsubsidized.
Important links a change in aid, so if you go following the far right arrow changing aid so this is where you would indicate that you had a change in the housing. Remember how there could be a different budget based on on campus or off campus? So we definitely need to know whether or not you've had a change in housing.
And the change in aid changing housing or the next would be you want to change your enrollment status or below that. Declare outside financial assistance. OK, all of those you would do by if you go back up to the Left Arrow taught in the left arrow in the Blue Button you submit a change in aid notifying us of that information or update.
Naomi Wells
06:13:53 PM
When will we receive our financial aid?
Karina Ayala
06:13:59 PM
@David You can use an EFC calculator to calculate an estimate change in your parents income after your parents lost their job, here: https://myawards.ucdavis.edu/AidEstimator. If you decide to go to UCD, you will be able to submit an officially form starting July 1st, you can find more details here: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/faforms/family-contribution-review
OK, so the other important piece of information here link is the bottom arrow to your left and it's the third party authorization, so this is having to do with a students privacy rights and so for your parents to be.
Eligible to see your your file with financial aid, you actually would need to authorize their their their ability to see financial aid, so that's in a really important thing that needs to be done before. If you're interested in doing that, you would need to do that before they would need that information, because it does take some time to to set up, but just click on 3rd party authorization and will help you with the steps to get that organized.
Jamila Brown
06:14:46 PM
@Naomi we cannot disburse earlier than 10 days before the start of instruction.
Joy Fisher
06:14:52 PM
Hello Star, the difference between two types of loans is that the government pays your interest that is accrued with the subsidized loan while you are still pursing your degree. The unsubsidized loan you would have the choice to pay the interest that accrues as you go or the interest will be added back to the original loan amount. You would have the same loan repayment grace period for both loans, which is 6 months after you graduate.
Uh, scholarships OK? Scholarships are great. Scholarships are based mostly based on academic merit. An it's money you do not have to repay, and so there are different ways that when applying for scholarships. But for the UC Davis scholarship, your application for admissions, this actually also your scholarship application. OK, that's really important and we you see Davis will be awarding these scholarships during the summer.
You'll be able to view them on your my awards annual be notified of scholarships through your UC Davis email.
OK, another really important piece of information is that you can apply for any applicable outside scholarships or private scholarships that you can apply for as well.
Gabriella Solakian
06:15:33 PM

06:15:35 PM
when does the middle-class scholarship disburse? how and when will we know if we qualify?
So what are the types of scholarships available? Most other scholarships that are given for all types of interest in qualifications and talents. Many do not have academic or need financial need requirements.
Ilya Tsitsuashvili
06:15:49 PM
Is it necessary to work all the hours listed under the Work study or can you work part of the listed hours
And even scholarships sometimes require time. Certainly for time in searching and applying. But where to search? We have it all here for you.
If you look at the bottom of the slide we have. These are UC Davis website.
Karina Ayala
06:16:19 PM
@Ilya you can make arrangements with your potential employer for the amount of hours you'd like to work.
That includes our scholarships office and there you can learn of other private scholarships that might be available to you and how and where to apply. These could include local and national organizations, clubs in corporations.

Please if you forget where to that address is just go ahead and go to our scholarship's website.

Jamila Brown
06:17:32 PM
@Gabriella some of the apartments are considered on and some are off campus, you can reach out to the Housing office here https://housing.ucdavis.edu/contact-us/ to find out more details on them. The middle class scholarships are typically awarded closer to November.
Change of subject so the twenty 2021 appeals, but does that mean so we have. We have some options for you, some students have had changes in their financial circumstances. So it says here available on October 1st 2020 twenty but I just want to give you an update. In addition to a family contribution appeal, we also have documenting additional expenses appeals. So if for some reason you have additional expenses above the budget, remember how we talked about the budget so earlier the different types of budgets and different amounts where budget? If you for some reason, find yourself with additional expenses, additional educational related expenses above the budget, please consider submitting additional expenses.

Also, with a subsidized loan - how does it work? does the school control the loan or do I receive access to the loan to pay for off campus housing or extra expenses
Karina Ayala
06:20:10 PM
@Kendall, the interest for unsubsidized loan begins as soon as you receive the loan on the portion that you receive. It adds up on a quarterly basis. Yes you can accept declined loans. For any subsidized loan, if there is a refund, you'll receive it either as a check or direct deposit, and you can use for academic or personal expenses.
Uh, we went. We review this one slide that allows you to make changes and this is an important slide. We appreciate your taking some time to look at this, especially if your parents have been asking you about this. You would think that automatically they would be eligible to look at your financial information, but in fact, due to Ferpa, FERPA, we need to have consent.
And so there is a process involved in that. It's called the third party authorization form.
You can do this where where do you remember? Do you remember? Yes, you can do this. You can complete that form through my awards.
Jamila Brown
06:20:43 PM
@Mirielle at this time we do not have details on how Work-study will work for Fall. But as we receive more details we will post them on our webpage https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/work-study
It's called the third party authorization form, so when contacting our office, your parents would need to provide the third parties name and pass phrase an the student ID and date of birth.
Very important information.
Again, where do you find this? You find this in my awards.
you would need to have that completed before your parents would have access to that to the information.
Ilya Tsitsuashvili
06:21:07 PM
How many units should we enroll in to receive the aid
Information in my talking about with regards to student privacy and policy.
Well, it's general information really. General financial aid information.
Joy Fisher
06:21:21 PM
Hello Naomi, if you were to accept a loan and then have a scholarship that is later awarded, then we would adjust the loan to make room in your budget for the new award but that would only be if you have accepted aid up to your Cost of attendance. If you ever need to request an adjustment to a loan then you can use the Change In Aid form to let the the financial aid office know of the requested adjustment.

HOw can I receive a Work Study Pay when the School will be closed during the Fall? How can I qualified for it? Will I be working off site?
Jamila Brown
06:21:40 PM
@Ilya you will need at least 12 units to receive your full aid eligibility for a full time student
And also we aren't able to to do specific amounts, but these are the different topics that you would we would be able to give to parents. The consumer information, timelines and processes and how financial aid financial aid options might be out there. But other information we are restricted in, what we are able to offer to parents.
OK, there's actually also some limit limitations when you do call on the telephone. This is all in for your own privacy. But why don't we just take a quick look at this?
Christopher Chapman
06:22:13 PM
Do we still receive the same financial aid reward if we live off campus?
We can buy telephone, we can discuss you know where to find and how to access information, confirmed data from Fasfa and.
Provide the sass of non faster or.
Or non DREAM Act. Application data provide general information on financial aid process.
I know this is a lot of information, but I appreciate your hanging in there.
Logan Mayfield
06:22:39 PM
specifically how do you fill out the incomplete requirements page in order to accept the loans?
Logan Mayfield
06:22:43 PM
how do you go about filling out the information related to incomplete requirements
Karina Ayala
06:22:45 PM
@Logan, you follow the link provided to complete any incomplete requirements.
This is really important because we've talked about these different topics through this.
Jamila Brown
06:22:58 PM
@Christopher typically the Cost of Attendance budgets vary by about $5000. You can find more details here: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/undergraduate/cost
So by phone we cannot discuss specific financial aid figures and data. Again, this is all for your your privacy and that includes expected family contribution.
Award amounts values listed on the Fasfa and refund amounts so you would have all this information. We just can't give it to you by telephone. You have all this information on your my awards and also through your student aid report an your fastest in a report and also your refund amount. You should probably be able to see through my bill as well.
Ana Cardenas
06:23:33 PM
Is there a separate application for the middle class scholarship?
Ha October, October 1 this is a really important date not to be forgotten for the next four years. Every year when you follow your faster application. This is the first day that you can file the application for the following academic year.
OK, so you already filed one for this coming academic year, but come this October you can begin filing for the next academic year.
Mirielle Nissrallah
06:24:34 PM
How would the work study program work for the fall quarter if we go remote?
Karina Ayala
06:24:36 PM
@Mirielle some employers offer the opportunity to work from home, please use the uc davis handshake account to look for jobs: https://icc.ucdavis.edu/find/resources/handshake
January 2021 you need to submit a scholarship application. Remember how you your scholarship application was part of your admissions application for your entering here to UC Davis? This is not the case for your following academic in you will need to submit a separate a scholarship application so on October 1 not only is a fast that and California DREAM Act application available, but scholarship applications.
You see Davis scholarship applications actually opened as well.
And that scholarship application is actually do at the beginning of January 2021. Important scholarships? Remember our friends that you do not need to repay back, and so it's a definite option to other types of financial aid that you might be offered that, for example, loans or or other aid that you need to repay.
Joy Fisher
06:25:12 PM
Hello Ana, there is no separate application for the middle Class Scholarship. Students apply for the program by submitting their FAFSA or DREAM application by the March 2nd deadline.
Star Welch
06:25:16 PM
In the case that we will be working remotely from home, how would that affect federal work-study?
October 1st through March 2nd. This is the period period that you can go ahead and submit the fast for a California DREAM Act application.
It's really important that March 2nd deadline is a deadline. You do not want to miss and why you do not want to miss it is, it could mean not receiving the full grant.
Benafshah Rakhshani
06:25:57 PM
which month in summer, we will be notified about scholarship awards?
Kazuki Hagiwara
06:26:05 PM
Can non-resident students receive any non-repayable financial supports?
That you you could be eligible for because that March 2nd is the priority deadline date, so you've had that application available to you from October until March 2nd. Please Please remember that March 2nd deadline date. It can mean you're receiving the best absolute best financial aid package possible to miss that date. March 2nd to miss that date could jeopardize your receiving grant.
Karina Ayala
06:26:09 PM
@Kazuki, nonresidents are highly encouraged to apply for scholarships, as they are not eligible to receive state or institutional aid.
Jamila Brown
06:26:16 PM
@Star we do not know how fall will look yet in regards to work-study but some employers offer the opportunity to work from home, please use the uc davis handshake account to look for jobs: https://icc.ucdavis.edu/find/resources/handshake
I did emphasize March 2nd right? Yeah, hope so.
Kazuki Hagiwara
06:26:21 PM
Can non-resident students receive any non-repayable financial supports?
Breanne King
06:26:32 PM
Hi Benafshah! We dont have a date in which the students will be notified on. We will notify once we finish the process. Typically this lands sometime in July or August.
OK, so this is another. We have some free resources for you that we help that you can take advantage of to help you meet all your expenses for your budget. For the academic here.
So the different free resources that we have is 1 on one in Vizing by our very own Aggie blue to goal financial Wellness staff. Here in the financial aid office we have, uh.

Next in the list is budget con. You can see a picture of it in the top four are left. Far left is an event that will help with bringing offering different types of options of resources during the academic year and even look at that final snack bags. Then when I think that would be a great thing to to relieve some of the finals week kind of stress we have final stick bags for you.
Breanne King
06:27:22 PM
Hi Phuong, it depends. If you let us know you are only taking the quarter off then we would allow you to keep it. However, if you defer for the year then you would not be able to.
Karina Ayala
06:27:45 PM
@Ilya, if you are having an error accessing any of the forms, please send a screenshot so that we can look further into the cause of the error here: https://my.ucdavis.edu/ask_us/
Uh, let's see workshops on money management always a good idea, right? We do have some pretty large expenses that will be coming up. It's good to be able to manage that an have that less of a worry so that you can focus on your academic studies on them. Even have online resources like budgeting, management, managing student loans and debt management. So please, please take advantage of these different resources to help. It goes smoothly for you during the academic year.

06:28:03 PM
In regards to scholarships and grants: How can they be used? I am aware that the Cal Grant can only be used towards tuition however if I received the regent's scholarship, university grant, and the middle income grant can I use some of those funds for living costs off campus? Or can they only be applied to on campus living?
OK, take aways important. My awards right? We covered that. OK and that is to ensure that you have remembered that. And to ensure that you have all completed all your incomplete requirements because we don't want your financial aid go late at all for fall quarter.
We remember about remaining cost. You need to do that calculation of cost of attendance minus contributions.
Benafshah Rakhshani
06:28:38 PM
would we receive the scholarship awards directly or does it get added to our financial aid?
Sarthak Rishi
06:28:44 PM
I will be living off campus. So how can I waive the housing fees that is still reflected on my awards ?
So let's see and then. Also, don't forget on my words to report any outside resources as soon as you as soon as possible. So that will let us know. It can sometimes impact the type of awards you receive. Also, any changes made using the change in aid form can change your financial aid package. Basically reporting in the outside resources with also be considered as a resource stored. Your cost of attendance and then scholarships.
Breanne King
06:28:58 PM
Benafshah, the scholarship is posted on your MyAwards and treated just like any other type of financial aid.
Paul Marland
06:29:04 PM

Karina Ayala
06:29:06 PM
@Paul, that is correct
Uh, remember that scholarships your application is is part is your UC application is also your scholarship application right? Your admissions application and you'll be notified through the summer. But for the following academic year, it's a separate application.
Yes, and not to forget we are here to help you. In fact we have experts right now here answering your different questions. And don't forget you can reach out.

@Sarthak the housing component of the Cost of Attendance will not change. You will have the Cost of Attendance for Housing for an Off campus student.
And congratulations again on being accepted to UC Davis.
OK, I I think that we will have some time. Maybe for some.
Some questions that we had from the last web and R that may be able.
Um, that may be able to assist you where we may have not covered everything you wanted to know.
OK, so there is one question and that is is the University grant essentially the blue and gold scholarship? And is my Cal Grant bundled up in to this? OK, well I know at first it could be a bit a bit daunting trying to keep all these different grants separate, but there are many different brands and.
Joy Fisher
06:30:50 PM
Hello Steven, It would depend on the type of scholarships that you may be awarded but most grant and scholarship aid can be used for educationally related costs. Cal Grant is one of the few types of grants that is specifically meant for tuition.
Naomi Wells
06:31:08 PM
Is sol at west village considered on or off-campus?
Karina Ayala
06:31:11 PM
@Naomi if you have an on campus contract with UC Davis housing, and pay directly through UC Davis on a quarterly basis, it would be considered on campus. If you have a separate lease with the landlord, it will not be considered on campus.
So the blue and gold scholarship? No, that is not the same as Cal Grant. So Cal Grant there are there different sources of grants, right? And we have the state of California Cal. Grant and we have the blue and gold scholarship. We also have the Pell Grant. We also have the state our very own University Grant so you will be awarded all these separately. I mean your eligibility is evaluated, Anuar awarded separately.
It's not all replaced by each other, and I think that's what you meant by bundled up.
Jamila Brown
06:31:34 PM
@Gabriella you can find more information on Direct Deposit here; https://financeandbusiness.ucdavis.edu/student-resources/accounting
I hope that makes sense, so yes, you can receive Cal Grant and you can receive a little bit of the blue and gold scholarship. It depends actually. Blue and gold may actually go to part of your your registration fees.
Let me go ahead an uhm. Cover some of the questions that this entering students like you.
Also had at the last weapon arm.

How does how does students read their financial aid award? Does it include scholarships that they've been awarded?
Kendall McNair
06:32:21 PM
What do you mean if there is a refund for the subsidized loan, does that mean the school will use most of it and anything left over I receive? When would a check or direct deposit be given if there is a refund?
Kelly Nguyen
06:32:29 PM
Where do you find if you awarded a scholarship grant?
Well, the answer is actually as soon as can view their financial aid award. In my words, right, we we saw my awards here in the in the different slides. This is where students can do multiple things. In my words they can view their financial aid awards and scholarships. Complete and incomplete requirement.
Notify our office of any outside scholarships or funding that they will be receiving and they can also make changes to their housing or enrollment.
Breanne King
06:33:00 PM
Hi Kelly! Scholarships will be posted to MyAwards over the summer, if you are awarded. Grants should already be visible on your MyAwards if you are eligible.
Gabriella Solakian
06:33:02 PM
thank you
Uh, let's see, oh OK, this is a very good question. How is the expected family contribution calculated? Well, that can be a great mystery to many people, but you're dumb.
Steven Hobbs
06:33:15 PM
@ Joy Does off campus living qualify as educational costs?
Karina Ayala
06:33:18 PM
@Leanna, please contact webgrants to confirm your eligibility for the Cal Grant. We will confirm Cal Grant eligibility later in the summer, if you are eligible it will be posted on your account.
Your expected family contribution. EFC Bree VA shun here, you see, is actually based on your fast but I California dream app.

06:33:23 PM
how come my cal grant isnt showing up in Myawards? it shows it was awarded on the cal grant site

06:33:26 PM
What falls under “other educational costs” and does that amount include health insurance? Is it required to pay for health insurance? What if we have our own insurance?
Joy Fisher
06:33:27 PM
@Steven, yes it does
so if you're if see exceeds the cost of attendance, you are not eligible for financial need based financial aid.
But however, if you are eligible, uhm.
To complete a fast for you and your family may still apply for other. For other unsubsidised types of aid.
Steven Hobbs
06:33:51 PM
okay thank you
Oh yes, this can be a bit, um.
It can be a bit daunting, that's for sure at first. So the question is, can you tell us the difference between work study grants and loans?
OK, let's start with some grants. So grants are our financial need based awards that you do not need to.
Pay as long as you, the student maintains eligibility and there are a variety of.
Katherine Mendoza
06:34:27 PM
is there by any chance someone could go over my awards with me one on one?
Karina Ayala
06:34:30 PM
@Katherine, yes, please contact us between 10am to 2pm, Mon through Friday, at (530)752-2390
Of of grants, let's see maybe four or five. I can mention right now, and that would be the state of California's Cal Grant. And this and the federal government federal grant such as Pell Grant.
And University our own very own University grants as well. Of course, all of this is based on your enrollment status.
Let's see in additional awards are the you see blue and gold and that would be for the annual family incomes of up to 80,000. And also the Aggie Grant plan, which
has to do with elderly for her family incomes between 80,000 and 120,000.
Jamila Brown
06:35:26 PM
@Ilya other educational cost would be other supplies/items needs for your education, for health insurance you will be required to either use the University SHIP insurance or your own. You can find more information on the health insurance here https://shcs.ucdavis.edu/insurance-services

How is our financial aid package going to change if we only attend the fall quarter part time?
Uh, with assets below a certain a certain amount. I think it's 200,000. And Lastly of the different grants orsum also. Currently the middle class scholarship in that provides families with incomes up to 177 thousand with a Max for a type of scholarship to attend. the University of California OK on to loans he had asked about loans OK so loans are a great resource when use conservatively, right?
And wisely, so carefully consider whether borrowing is really needed. An borrow as little as necessary. Again, this is where budgeting and managing your your your costs and expenses comes into play and taking advantage of our financial Wellness program really can assist you with that.
And don't forget that actually when you're awarded in certain amount of loan, you can accept all or a portion of that loan, but it's it's. It's something that's offered to you throughout the year up until May 15th, which is the last day you can accept are offered.
Chih Chiu
06:36:21 PM
When does the blue and gold application results release
And accept our offer and offered.
Federal our institutional college loan.
Sarthak Rishi
06:36:31 PM
I will be living off campus . So how can I waive the housing fee that still show up on my awards ? Is their any specific form I have to fill ?
Karina Ayala
06:36:36 PM
@Sarthak, if you are currently awarded as on-campus, but decide to live off-campus, please submit a housing change in aid form so that we can make adjustments to your financial aid, you can find it here: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/faforms/change-in-aid
OK, and then finally, there's work study. This is a great program. I hope that you would want to take advantage of this and this. It allows a student to earn financial aid through employment and it's awarded on financial need based eligibility and it's available to students eligible who complete the fast for application. And it allows a student to earn financial aid through employment lot of times right here on campus and in its paid in the form of a payroll check and so.
You not only get work experience here on campus, but you also lessen your loan indebtedness if you choose to take work study. There's also institutional work study, and that's available to international, maybe 540 students who are eligible to work and is based on financial need this phone.
Let's see him hazard another question.
Ha OK, interesting you should ask, does the campus offer any other services like budgeting tools or a financial Wellness program?
Karina Ayala
06:37:45 PM
@Gabriella, you can sign up here:
Jamila Brown
06:37:49 PM
@Chih once you know you are admitted you will be able to view your aid package and see the type of aid you qualify for. If you have at least $12,570 in grant/scholarship aid you qualify for the Blue and Gold plan.
Gabriella Solakian
06:37:50 PM
when can we sign up for direct deposit?
Chih Chiu
06:38:01 PM
How do you know if you got the blue and gold scholarship
Yes, as I mentioned before, we have the Aggie Blue to gold financial Wellness program and it provides information and resources for all students and R period visor. Should we have peer advisors? They are available to help you learn ways to manage your money and it can be tricky at first so definitely take advantage of that as soon as you can and some of the free resources. Again we mentioned where money management, one unwanted bisingen budget con. So please please do.
Take advantage of these different different programs and we hope to see you at our budget. Can't event where we are able to give you additional resources. I think it's about mid year or early actually, maybe even early January.
Let me think about this 5th question is.
Joy Fisher
06:38:37 PM
Hello Phuong, Yes your financial aid awards would have to be adjusted per half-time enrollment, as the financial aid that you have been awarded at is based on an assumed full time enrollment. Your cost of attendance would be reduced and if you have grants such as Pell or Cal Grant, those grants would also be reduced.
The there's a question regarding resources page. When was the 3rd on line resource?
I don't know if I can go back.
Let me see if I can do that.
Well, while I try to do that.
Let's see if you can go back.
I don't remember what number is slide that was, but somebody has a question regarding our resources.
This is OK, so this is an important question to be. I may have mentioned a little bit earlier about appeal, so the question 5 is what if my family's financial situation changes between now and when I start school? Well, yes, Luckily we have options for you Anne. Beginning in July we can.
Go ahead and consider appeals family contribution appeals and this is we take into consideration the students financial situation. Do the special circumstances that have changed their financial situation.
Um, also remember you can document additional expenses if there are expenses above.
The cost of attendance that we have. OK so let me see if I can go back to that Aggie Blue and gold.
Benafshah Rakhshani
06:40:00 PM
Could you tell us about study abroad scholarships?
Oh, OK, so typically I think they would say I think the question is something about the third resource. Well, unfortunately I'm not able to go back there.

OK, so I actually has to do with.
Karina Ayala
06:40:33 PM
@Bethel, if change makes you eligible for B&G, then yes.
Um, what we offer right now, and it's the one in one advising through and zoom workshops. Where are different?
On this resources. Financial Wellness resources. I think that's our last question and I'm hoping that you were able to.
To understand a little bit better about the financial aid process and the awards and are different takeaways. And remember again that we are.

HI Benafshah. UC Davis scholarships can be used for UC Study Abroad programs during the regular academic year (not summer). Also the Study Abroad Office awards their own scholarships for each quarter, including summer. There are other options as well so please reach out when that time gets closer.

I was planning on applying for housing on campus but the application fee is quite expensive. Is there a way for the fee to be lowered or deferred?
Karina Ayala
06:45:19 PM
@Star, please reach out to Student Housing to determine if you are eligible to defer the payment.
Joy Fisher
06:45:49 PM
Hello Christopher, yes it could be considered an additional expense depending on situation but usually for additional expenses it is for a part of your budget the isn't reflective of your actual costs. Rent for example is part of your budget cost, but if you have to pay more than the monthly amnt then you would want to submit an appeal for your situation to be reviewed.
OK, will in the presentation now and we truly do appreciate your spending. The last hour with us and please again, we're here to help you and if you have any questions, please reach out to our office at contact an expert.
