We are beyond thrilled to host the Golden Gate Counselor Tour from July 6-11 2025, touring universities and colleges in Northern California. The Golden Gate Counselor Tour is hosted by Foothill + De Anza Colleges, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and UC Santa Cruz. The Golden Gate Counselor Tour provides an opportunity for counselors to visit six diverse California institutions, and to explore higher education opportunities, cuisine, culture, and history of the heart of Northern California.
Eligibility
Guidance counselors from outside the United States and EducationUSA advisers are invited to experience the Golden Gate Counselor Tour in Summer 2025. The tour takes place the week before the InternationalACAC conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
Registration
To ensure a high quality experience for both participating counselors and host institutions, the tour can accommodate a maximum of 30 counselors, only one counselor/advisor per school/organization/EdUSA center is permitted to attend.
The final list of attendees will be decided by a committee of admission staff from all participating institutions, considering institutional priorities and geographic diversity. Interested counselors should not make flight arrangements until they have been confirmed as attendees. A detailed itinerary for the Golden Gate Counselor Tour will be provided to selected participants.
Invited participants will be required to send us their confirmed flight itineraries and a tour agreement signed by participants and supervisors or EducationUSA REACs to confirm their spots.
Tour Commitment
Tour participants will agree to arrive in San Francisco by 3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, and stay in the arranged hotels until the conclusion of the tour on Friday afternoon by 5 p.m., July 11. All attendees will be expected to participate in all planned activities through the end of the tour.
Tour includes (paid by host institutions):

● Most meals and planned activities
● Transportation between universities/colleges
Tour does not include (paid by participant):
● Airfare to/from San Francisco Bay Area
● Transfer to/from airports
● Meals and activities outside of planned itinerary
● Personal expenses
● Hotel room upgrades
● Lodging in Bay Area before or after planned itinerary
